Rex, Imo police should enforce the law, not interpret it. When I say this, I mean that they should not be put in this position: Why put it on the police? There is no reason a quick decision has to be made. This isnt "probable cause" when it comes to breaking down a door or looking for a criminal, where time is of the essence. The law should have put it in the DA's hands of whether they ultimately prosecute. There is no good reason (that I can think of), to prohibit the police from charging someone who admits to killing another person, and then waiting to see what facts come out. Jenks, Its this portion that I dont think youll find in IL law: Its not about stand your ground laws, those are questions of fact, just like every other case. Its about a specific law that stated the police, may not arrest someone unless there is probable cause the force was unlawful. To me that is backwards. The law should be that you get arrested and if there is evidence that it was justifiable, then the DA in their discretion may decide not to bring the charges. Otherwise justifiable defense would be evidence for the jury. Just poor logic.

Netflix would be smart to get on this bandwagon. A show I really wish that would have been saved was Caprica.
-
I really dont see why its a slap in the face. Would Forte have accepted that contract? My guess is no. Therefore its completely irrelevant. What would be a slap in the face is if the Bears had gotten another RB and gave them the deal Forte wanted. Forte's base salary is going to be $7mil or so. Bush is getting $14mil over 4 years. I cant imagine Forte turned down anything close to that, otherwise hed be signed.

After watching the Wisconsin play a few times, the actual breakdown came when Rob Wilson got his man in the air and didnt take it towards the basket. By passing back to Taylor there were a bunch of Syracuse players right there, had he gone to the rim it would have opened the whole play up. Its going to be a long wait until next year.
-
It depends on what youre saying. I could b**** all day long about not getting paid enough, but as long as I still make them a lot of money, what are they going to do, fire me?
-
I wish they got a better shot, but they got a shot, they could have won. Its the play that ended the season, but there were thousands of other ones that got it to that point. Taylor should have made a better more decisive decision, but he didnt, hes been a hell of a player.
-
And Bo Ryan's explanation was that he didnt want to leave an inbounder with no timeouts.
-
If Ryan calls a time out and some how they dont even get a shot, or Taylor doesnt touch the ball, its a worse outcome. Jordan Taylor had the ball, they lost with their best.
-
Rex, I agree you should go earlier especially in college where you cant advance the ball so even 5 seconds is a pretty rough play. I wish they would have gone between 7-10 seconds left, maybe get an offensive rebound against the zone for some sloppy put back. That being said, Wisconsin won a lot of games the last 4 years because Taylor made shots like that. He took the shot, it was short. In that situation youd rather be strong.
-
Cuse was playing zone, double screen isnt going to be that effective as they wont come out in man at all. That being said, the best play would have used Taylor as a decoy, because he likely would have had 2 guys focusing on him, fake the pass to him and have a guy hopefully cut behind an over aggressive Syracuse defense. At the beginning of the year I was concerned this team wouldnt make the NCAA tournament, they came 2 inches from the Elite 8. Syracuse is a good team, that made shots. Wisconsin didnt play bad, just some days you lose. Jordan Taylor earned that play over 4 years.
-
I understand what happened there, Jordan Taylor has won many games for Wisconsin its his senior year, he took the shot. Im sure Bo Ryan told them what to do, and I guarantee that unless someone was wide open, it was going to be Taylor taking that shot. Brust was open, maybe that pass is the better play, but there were 4 seconds left and at that point you at least need to get something at the basket.
-
I think the question will be, should Wisconsin used a timeout there to call a play knowing that Beoheim is going to run a zone so you can call just 1 play to get 1 open shot. Had Bruiser timed it a little better he may have been able to put it in. Good game, tough.
-
Damn, had a chance.
-
I thank you.

Dear basketball gods I ask for 1 missed ft.
-
Well here we go, I think the smartest move is to just foul and put them on the line for 1 and 1. Worst case scenario you are down 3 with the ball, best case you are down 1.
-
Do they know there are only 31 seconds left?
-
That should be where Evans is, he can be explosive on one step. Youd think theyd use Bergeren more at the top of the key and then pass from there to cutters, but I dont know. All you can hope for is a close game and a shot to win.
-
Well that defense was the point and if Syracuse makes those, Wisconsin likely cant keep up, because theres just no way that they can make every three. Just gotta keep it close and hope they are the team who is more battle tested.
-
Need to switch and play soft on the pick and roll. Let them take jump shots.
-
Why Evans why.
-
I could have lived with it being a block on the floor, but the and 1 hurts.
-
Live by the 3, die by the 3.
-
They keep talking about Syracuse defense, but Wisconsin has scored 41 points and still have a half to play. Against Michigan they only scored 41 points in an entire game...
-
Wisconsin crashing the boards a little bit more, well see if Syracuse notices and tries to break more.
