  1. Evans is frustrating. Hes good from mid range and closer, but he loves to settle for outside shots for no reason. Hes a pretty good defender.
  2. Within striking distance, just have to hope Syracuse starts missing more shots.
  3. I guess the Syracuse players didnt realize that Wisconsin had a foul to give and were just trying to foul there.
  4. Well that was a bad call, Gasser walks into the Syracuse guy.
  5. Bo Ryan doesnt call timeouts to stop flow (at least not in the first half). There is nothing really Wisconsin can do. Kaminsky is a freshman playing against a zone, its just a recipe for disaster. Need to get through the half.
  6. Yep without Bergeren just a completely different offense. Doesnt help that Syracuse cant miss. Hopefully can get it to 6 or so at the half and then be back to full strength.
  7. The bad call on Bergeren really hurt because that was 2 at 10 minutes left in the 1st half. That being said, Wisconsin is controlling pace and hopefully slight lead or even at half.
  8. http://www.sanfordfl.gov/investigation/doc...in_shooting.pdf Here is more information, it seems Florida is run by criminals. According to Florida Statute 776.032 : 776.032 Immunity from criminal prosecution and civil action for justifiable use of force.— (1) A person who uses force as permitted in s. 776.012, s. 776.013, or s. 776.031 is justified in using such force and is immune from criminal prosecution and civil action for the use of such force, unless the person against whom force was used is a law enforcement officer, as defined in s. 943.10(14), who was acting in the performance of his or her official duties and the officer identified himself or herself in accordance with any applicable law or the person using force knew or reasonably should have known that the person was a law enforcement officer. As used in this subsection, the term “criminal prosecution” includes arresting, detaining in custody, and charging or prosecuting the defendant. (2) A law enforcement agency may use standard procedures for investigating the use of force as described in subsection (1), but the agency may not arrest the person for using force unless it determines that there is probable cause that the force that was used was This one of the most illogical ideas ever. The law should have been written the other way, that in all instances use of deadly force is considered unlawful and therefore you must arrest. If evidence is shown that the use of deadly force may have been justified, the DA may, in their discretion, drop the charges. Just wait until this law is used by some gang member against a senior citizen. I guarantee the law changes then. "They threatened me with a cane, so I shot them!"
  9. Police chief has temporarily resigned. In my opinion this a terrible application of the law, and that begs the question, why are the police interpreting law? Generally the job of the police is to make an arrest and then for the district attorney to apply the law and determine whether the charges should be brought. I still am unclear why a police officer would ever believe that were "prohibited" from making an arrest. Murder is a crime, self-defense, as most people would imagine, is a defense. Just because you have a defense, doesnt mean the police cant arrest you or that the DA cant try and convict you. Ultimately its the trier of fact who determines whether the defense should apply. At the end of the day, I expect charges to be filed.
  10. Well rebounding is on the Wisconsin offensive boards. Cuse is generally bad at defensive rebounds because they play zone and try and break, Wisconsin is bad at offensive rebounds because they get back on defense to stop transition.
  11. Wisconsin - Cuse should be an interesting contrast of style. Cuse- always zone Wisconsin- always man If Wisconsin shoots well, it could be a good one.
  12. I hope Bush isnt a long term plan, the guy has only 1 year where he rushed over 160 times and had a pretty significant leg injury at the end of college. Hes good for a back up, but I wouldnt want him as a #1, unless he was splitting carries.

Chicago dog owners please read, it is regarding squirrel poison and dogs. http://beta.local.yahoo.com/news-pet-owner...north-side.html
  14. Merrill Hoge on Griffin v. Luck http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft2012/story/_/i...-throws-pro-day He's seeing the same things Im seeing.
  15. Fair enough, I dont necessarily agree that tournament success is the most important indicator, but we all have our rationales. The biggest concern about Collins would be no coaching experience, that being said, sometimes you have to go out on a limb. I do not know what IL will do, I know what I would do (go after a coach who is already at a high major), but I just really dont like Frank Martin. The last 2 years his team has lost to Wisconsin, and i really just have nothing good to say about his coaching.
  16. Then which head coach do you think is a good idea? As I said, Shaka Smart came from Oregon, Wisconsin, he most likely has never missed a meal in his life, he grew up in a middle class area and has no connection at all to Chicago. Just so you know here is Shaka's High School: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oregon_High_S...%28Wisconsin%29
  17. Right because (imo) rich and from the North Shore were other ways of describing "Hes a white guy". Lets say it was Michael Jordan for the head coaching job of Illinois, would you say "Hes rich and from the North Shore" therefore he cant connect? In my opinion the implication was pretty clear. I guess being from the North Shore, when I hear those phrases, I immediately think of the stereotype, and lets just say it doesnt involve a rainbow of races.
  18. Um, what? You said "Besides for having no head coaching experience" and then made this gem of a statement: So I responded about CONNECTING WITH INNER CITY KIDS.
  19. lol Man really? You think that Doug Collins kid is going to have a hard time walking into a house and talking with inner city kids about the Bulls, about how his dad knows Derrick Rose, about the United Center, about how the NBA and how he is going to make them NBA players. You really think Shaka Smart, from WISCONSIN, would connect better to Chicago players, simply because of his race. WOW. (Edit) And to add to this, why are Self, Calipari and Roy Williams able to recruit when they are rich white guys?
  20. Anecdotally, Wisconsin fans wanted a bigger name coach than Bo Ryan after Dick Bennett left (one being Rick Majerus). In retrospect it turned out well.

Or you can hire me to be your fall guy, Im good at being put in bad situations and expected to perform miracles. Also Im good at taking falls for other people.
  23. I more meant that I really dislike Frank Martin and would take a complete dark horse over him. Unlike other Duke assistants, Chris Collins has something else going for him, the fact that his dad is widely respected in basketball circles, so this isnt going to be another Coach K Jr. Im pretty sure Collins would take the job, hes from Illinois and at worst Id expect hed be solid.
