  1. That is a big whoop, id rather see the Twolves than the Kobe show.
  2. Wisconsin has gotten plenty of 6'10+ white guys from the state who havent done much. I dont really care about stars or that stuff, I used to follow it pretty heavily but as a Wisconsin fan its generally a story of offering great guys early only to watch them go to OSU, UNC, etc. I havent seen many players that were good that Bo just didnt offer, but who knows, maybe Bo Ryan cant scout is own state, maybe he isnt aware of Germantown, but that would seem odd seeing as the best player on Germantown is a Wisconsin commit (Zak Showalter). I guess you probably know more than Bo Ryan. As for Weber v Crean. Weber: 311–143 8 NCAA Tournaments 3 Sweet 16s 1 Final 4 Crean: 231–163 5 NCAA Tournaments 1 Sweet 16 1 Final 4 Bruce Weber Big 10: 87-54 (1 season under 500) Tom Crean Big 10: 11-49 (3 seasons under 500) In no universe has Crean done as much as Bruce Weber. Crean has lost more games and won less than Weber. Tom Crean has won 1 conference title in all his years coaching and it was in the American League. Weber has 4 conference titles. Hard to really take that comment seriously.
  3. They dont matter. I would like Newt more if he really did pitch his wife on open marriage. I dislike anyone who want to legislate morality. Consenting adults have the right to choose what they do, thats called small government. Now what I hate is when someone has a holier than thou attitude about morals and then goes and does "immoral" things. Everyone knows I dont care about morality, so when you see me doing immoral things, I own them. If I can convince 2 girls to have sex with me, I hope that they question me about it during my campaign, because Im a f***ing stud. And if they question that I just said f*** in my response, Im going to tell them damn straight I swear. This aint my primary, Republican's have no room for real states rights or small govt., they just want their version of "rights".
  4. The future looks bright for Indiana, Im just saying today, its hard for me to pick Crean over Weber, in a few years it may be easy. As for Fischer for whatever reason Wisconsin didnt even offer. From what Ive read Bo is good friends with the Germantown coach and for whatever reason didnt believe Fischer was as good as guys that Wisconsin could offer otherwise. I havent seen him play, those that have on Wisconsin boards seem to not be to concerned about it.
  5. Crean has always been considered a good recruiter he beat Wisconsin for a fair amount of players. Hed just usually take talented players and make them do ridiculous things. I know Marquette people felt that they may lose some talent recruit wise but theyd probably pick up a few games due to less Crean insanity. When he was in Wisconsin he could have recruited big guys, he just generally preferred to put line ups of 5 guys that were 6'5. If hes changed, thats good news for Indiana.
  6. Im kind of shocked people are loving Crean so much, but maybe hes changed from his Marquette days. All I remember is guards playing forward, random nonsensical line ups and basically no game plan. I havent really watched him at Indiana so maybe hes changed, but Id take Weber over Crean, Weber is one of the few coaches who has had success against Wisconsin.

    SOPA

The problem is that copyright laws were not created for a digital age. When it was books/paintings, you really didnt have this issue. If I bought a book at the store, I could sell my book to my friends, I could lend my book to my friend, it was my physical copy. If I buy a Picasso, I own the work (work for hire is a completely different area so maybe not a good example), I can sell the work, I can profit off the work. The problem in the digital age is that when I give my mp3 to my friend, it is in some ways no different than giving a book, but in other ways its drastically different. And thus we have the legal problem, if when I buy something I have an ownership right to it, how can the law restrict what I do with my own copy? The record companies will say that the sale of the record is more akin to a license, and therefore they can govern the use like a license. Non record companies will argue that its nothing like a license, that it more akin to a product, and thus the end user has pretty much free reign to do what it wants with its product. I personally believe the second way is more in line with American legal theory. I think that if you are going to enforce the law, it has to be against the person downloading it and that there is really very little cause of action against someone who uploads.
  8. Pats 30 Ravens 17 - Brady Giants 23 49er 20- Eli the boy Manning
  9. Dear life? Where have I ever said anything remotely close to that. I said in a fantasy world where the Bulls could acquire these players Id try and not move Brewer. Lets keep it in context, these are fantasy trades and I said I preferred Garnett in fantasy land anyways. I dont know why anyone is seriously thinking this is going to happen.
  10. Lebron is just more natural when Wade isnt on the court.
  11. lost, My guess is its because Payton didnt play a game after 1988.
  12. Id need zoom to explain the facts, but Korver+ Brewer doesnt match Allen's salary, and i dont think that there is a rule that being 300k over the cap is any less than being 5mil over the cap. Not to mention that Id want to move Boozer, so moving Boozer to another team could create a trade exception, etc. But hey, keep making things up, I merely said it makes no sense to move Brewer for Allen when the Bulls are built on being a defensive team. It makes sense to move Korver/Hamilton for a more offensive player, but not Brewer. In your opinion it makes sense, mine it doesnt, well see what the Bulls do, but Id be shocked if Brewer is moved for Allen.
  13. Who said it would be awful? If youre referring to me, I said it makes no sense because Brewer plays a valuable role for the Bulls and you could likely get Allen without him being added. I then said I dont even see why the Celtics would want Brewer so he probably has more value to the Bulls than to the Celtics. Thus it doesnt make sense to trade him. You can disagree with that if you want, but I dont believe anyone said its an "awful" deal.
  14. What is with people these days? Walter Payton or Jordan, there is an argument to made for both. Just like some people can argue MJ isnt the greatest basketball player or that Payton isnt the best football player. There is no definitive way to determine best ever, so what are people freaking out about?
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 02:35 PM) 3 quick ones. http://www.csnchicago.com/blog/bulls-talk/...?blockID=617160 http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/heatzone/20...fect-heat-more/ http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2011/12/10/sch...s-uniform-soon/ Really? Link 1: So Wade doesnt like running around and he doesnt like tall guys, where does it say Hamilton is good on defense? Link 2: Not one comment on Hamilton's defense, all on his offense. Link 3: No mention that Hamilton is a Wade stopper, and I dont really know what qualifies as "pretty good defense" because thats clearly worse than "good defense" but I guess better than "average". Still doesnt really show that any of these guys said Hamilton is better than Brewer or that Hamilton is a Wade stopper, which was the original argument.
  16. No one ever argued they had statistical evidence to prove Hamilton was a bad defender. I believe that I personally said Id take my visual opinion over a 3rd party reporters, but then it turned out that there werent even 3rd party reporters who were disagreeing with me.
  17. Talk about moving the goal posts. I believe the original position was that Hamilton was a Wade stopper and good defender. The evidence cited to support the statement was "anecdotal 3rd party evidence" and comparisons. The 3rd party evidence really didnt support he was a good defender, more showed that players didnt want to guard him. The statistical evidence was shown to be inconclusive.
  18. Thankfully the Bulls are still probably favorites against CLE and CHA.
  19. And I value my opinion over writers opinions. Its not like Ive never seen these guys play.
  20. Balta, Im bored so I guess Ill show why the stat is meaningless. Lets take a random year, 2005-2006 pistons. http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/DET/2006.html According to basketball reference, Hamilton had the worst defensive rating of any piston (108), Wallace had the best (95) followed by Sheed. In terms of defensive win shares, Hamilton was once again last of the starters. That team was 3rd in ppg with 90 per game. If Hamilton's man was scoring 20+, that means Hamilton defensively was giving up 20-25% of all the points scored against the Pistons on any night. Furthermore, the stats would suggest that if the Pistons were playing optimum defense, that Billups or Prince would have been guarding the best perimeter player and Hamilton would not have been. The simple fact is, there are way to many variables to say that Hamilton definitely was the reason that those players scored less.
  21. Well I think that relying on first person evidence (Ive watched them play) is better than relying on third party (some one else watched them play), so I dont see how its faulty memories or anything else, its called a difference of opinion. Some people think hes good, some people dont. I personally think Brewer is one of the best defenders on the Bulls and Id rather not give him up if there is a different way to acquire talent.
  22. lol I have no position in the argument, Hamilton may or may not be a good defender, I dont think hes as good as Brewer, no one has yet to argue that Hamilton is better than Brewer. My argument was that the statistics you were relying on are faulty and acting like they answer the question of whether Rip can guard isnt really true.
  23. Youve yet to prove that Hamilton guarded any of these players.
  24. Ive had disagreements with J4L, but you guys really are using meaningless stats here to try and argue. Did you know Hamilton is a Lebron stopper? http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-i...mp;p2=hamilri01 Lebron only scored 23.6 per game against Hamilton. What about Kobe, did you know Hamilton stops him too? http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-i...mp;p2=hamilri01 And Yao: http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-i...mp;p2=hamilri01 So what is more likely, Hamilton is secretly one of the top defenders, or he played on a good defensive team that held players below their average?
