Milkman, This is a message board, I can conveniently do whatever I want. Im tired of all the negativity and your right, Im going to be condescending to people who are negative just to be negative. SS2K, We know that Ventura has been a widely respected player. As for the rest, as Ive consistently said since the beginning of time (when this message board started), I do not really believe that managers can make a huge positive impact. Its more that you just dont want a manager who is going to sink the ship because of an ego trip (Ozzie). Which is why I consistently dont really care about the coach, as long as they are a reasonable person (Ventura).

Theo traded Hanley Ramirez for Beckett. Even taking on a boatload of contracts (Beckett and Lowell) he still gave up a premier SS talent. Ive never been a big Epstein fan, so I think the Cubs and him are a good match.

I do think its funny. I think its hilarious that without any information people are saying how much influence McEwing will have. And I used the Cardinals to show that Robin (the Manager) picked a guy who is already being courted for a Manager position. Kind of shows that Robin might know a little something. I get that some people on this board are going to complain for the sake of complaining. I just find it amusing, nothing more.

Hes still on the coaching staff, and if the Sox are such a train wreck you would have thought hed pass and wait for a better opportunity. Its pretty clear people in baseball respect Robin, regardless of what the fans on this site believe.
-
Im not sure how you can say what position is most important without knowing how Robin and Co will handle things. Just because a 3b coach generally does not have much responsibility, does not mean that Robin wont be talking with McEwing when the Sox are on defense and allowing McEwing to actually make an impact in the game by controlling 3b. Id say that more games are won and lost based on 3b coach decision, than a bench coach whispering sweet nothings into the Managers ear. (edit) Exactly Rock, hell be on the bench every half inning, its not that hard to discuss future strategy or hell, he could even have signs to the dugout on who he thinks should pinch hit. 3b is one of the only coaches that has a direct impact on the game.

Really Greg, serious about winning anything ever again? Does Francona have some sort of sarcophagus technology where he can live forever? I think its funny people are still bashing on the Sox staff, yet failing to recognize that the Cardinals want to interview one of our new coaches. As for your Francona prediction, I would say that the Cardinals are going to pick whoever they believe will help them keep Pujols.

I dont really have a costume this year. Last year it was Randy Marsh, this year my first instinct was Zombie Lumberjack. Ill probably go to Target and see what I can put together.

Not many players start 40 games in college. Cam Newton started 1 season, Tyron Smith (top ol taken) started 20 games, Solder/Pouncey both started 3 years. Its pretty unusual to have a 4 year starter, especially at a school that has produced many quality lineman. Last year Bill Nagy (who didnt even start for Wisconsin) was drafted by the Cowboys and started for them this year until his injury. -

Id be more concerned if he hadnt started 40+ games in college. Carimi's pedigree and experience just blows away anyone else on the Bears line. As soon as he is healthy, hell be starting some where. I cant believe he isnt the LT, but who knows. -

There is a Tice quote that says something like "Carimi could play LT, we just think hell be a great RT." To put it in context, prior to this year only 2 players played LT for Wisconsin since 2005, Joe Thomas and Gabe Carimi. Thomas started at LT as a sophomore, Carimi as a RS Freshman. The reality is no one on the Bears has close to the experience as Carimi at LT (and as Ive shown previously, he had better measurables than Webb at the combine) -

Itd be more likely that Carimi would move to LT (position he played at Wisconsin for 4 years) over Louis (who to the best of my knowledge has not played LT.) -
Infantry, Its just that you simply equate liberal with idiot that I have a problem with. Milkman, I guess that depends on your definition of best, but personally I dont think any other country is close to the US.
-
Do you think the last 2 statements make you sound smart? (most just want to be like Europeans and liberal idiots) Maybe one day people wont care whether they are a liberal or a conservative and will drop all the s*** and focus on making the US the best nation in the world and doing everything that we can to make sure that it stays that way. Unfortunately too many people would rather snipe and make jackass remarks than actually sit down and figure things out. Because neither side is right, its just that simple. Good luck guys, Ill take my European idiocy elsewhere.

He wasnt released to gain sympathy. (Imo) He was released in an attempt to prevent another appeal where it was possible he would have been found not guilty and the rest of the Western world would have gone ballistic on Scotland for basically having no clue who was really responsible. If you read about the story, his case was granted an appeal, but it sounds like in consideration for dropping the appeal, Scotland granted his release. Its kind of a messed up situation.
-
Kap, Scotland decided to release him, not the US. Not sure how it has any relevance to Wall Street, seeing as Wall Street isnt under Scottish jurisdiction. (I know you were trolling, but it does nothing except turn the conversation into nonsense).
-
Infantry, Im not a criminal lawyer and I wouldnt even try and venture into international criminal law. I dont know what our rights are to demand anything, if his release is conditional, then it would seem that he is still under some other countries jurisdiction.
-
Infantry, Its not a clear cut question. He was convicted in some sort of Scottish proceeding. The Scots are saying that they are the only ones that can request any sort of transfer. That being said there are 2 issues here, 1) what is the current status of his conviction and 2) if he was tried in the US would it be double jeopardy. Im not that knowledgeable on international criminal laws, but Id have no problem if he was tried in the US. I definitely would not agree with applying another countries conviction in the US. Balta, Probably will only find a fraction of the death sites (that is on both sides).

Ugh, that game really hurts. Cant blame anyone but Wisconsin, should have never been in that position. Guess the good news is with a CCG, Wisconsin may get a chance at MSU again and hopefully they dont screw it up. -

Nick Toon should be available probably 2nd round or later. He is a pretty physical receiver with good hands. -
Regardless of the people's opinion on this board, Walker is respected in the MLB community. Good luck in Atlanta!

That is a lot of posts.

I dont know what will happen. I think that many people in Libya will remember that when Gaddafi was marching on Misrata, it was the planes from the Great Satan who stopped Gaddafi. Not Iran, not Saudia Arabia, not any Islamic nation. I hope for the best because I believe that all people want similar things. I guess no matter what I just hope they have a better life, that is why I supported the US involvement.

A lot of NFL teams are poorly run. -
I dont agree with street justice, but from the videos its hard to determine what exactly happened. Its possible that Gaddafi died die to injuries suffered prior to capture, who knows. As for going down the road to Islam if thats what the people of Libya want, who am I to stop them. When people are free, they have the right to make their own decisions about their govt.

I wish OSU was good, cant really blame Wisconsin for that.
