Geoffrey Bodine got in because he is a past winner of the All Star event and all past winners are automatically eligible. Ken Schrader got in on the fan vote. Geoffrey hasnt run an event this year but he ran his brother Todds car just to collect the check for that team. I think you were guarenteed $70,000 for starting so that helped out that small budget team. I do however feel they should keep out drivers who arent full time.

Magic will try to spread NASCAR's fan base. Best known for leading the Los Angeles Lakers to five NBA titles, Johnson has redefined himself as a successful businessman. The Magic Johnson brand has become one of the most expansive and successful business networks in the country. Johnson will assist NASCAR with creating grassroots programs, such as Drive for Diversity, that identify and develop African American, Hispanic and women drivers and crew members and help develop marketing programs to increase the sport's visibility in urban communities. "As a child, I spent countless hours attending race events with my father, and my strong interest in motorsports is still connected to those fond memories," Johnson said. "I plan to build on the existing initiatives and develop an urban marketing strategy. This will give real opportunities for all people to participate in the sport as fans, drivers, crew members and many other positions." The Drive for Diversity program seeks to identify and select minority and women drivers and crew members to compete in NASCAR-sanctioned races. Already, Drive for Diversity has five drivers and six crew members competing in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

The best part is the Indy 500 is run in the afternoon and the Nascar race is that night and it gets better ratings then the biggest race of the year for the IRL.

When they adjust the car you can see when they do it on pit road. Im not gonna argue with any of you because im not here to get you all pissed off over Nascar on a baseball message board. No matter what i say its not gonna change anyones minds or opinions on nascar. I love it and always will while most of you will never understand it or like it. All i know is that if Nascar is so easy I would go do it for a living but I dont know if i can handle it. I know exactly how you all feel when you wonder how the hell people can watch cars go in circles all day because i feel the same way about watching basketball and hockey. Who the hell wants to watch guys skate around to see 1 goal every 2 hours or watch a bunch of guys shoot a ball in a hoop , wow. All im gonna say if you dont like Nascar then fine dont just dont take over every thread and flood it with anti nascar stuff.

The worst part was before the race when Tony told DW that without the past champions provisional he wouldnt have raced his last 2 or so years because he wouldnt have made the race. I personally like DW and Mikey but I still think that it was funny what Stewart said. Also i have to agree with playa hatin , i love it how Mikey always finds a way to get every sponsor in his interviews and on "his" show. And i really love Nascar cuz i have a scanner to thats alot bigger then that ugly looking new one they came out with. Cant go to a race without a scanner.
