  1. From Hockeys Future DiDomenico Stalberg Paradis
  2. Bengie Molina traded to the Rangers for Chris Ray and a PTBN The door is now open for Buster Posey to take over full time catching duties.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 10:47 AM) Well, I don't care all that much about Bosh, LeBron is the prize, I just hope this doesn't make him go to Miami. But, but, but LeBron would never ever play with Wade.
  4. Miami fans are getting so damn cocky and it's annoying as hell.
  5. As I said before, don't get your hopes up. We're all setting up to be really disappointed.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 06:01 PM) HOLY BALLS THE BULLS ARE GOING TO SIGN LEBRON JAMES AND CHRIS BOSH. I hope so, but I feel like we're all setting up to be extremely disappointed. Now another GM has come out and said that he believes that Bosh will sign with the Heat and that it's been planned for a while. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/674...or_a_long_time/ Nothing is done yet.
  7. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 26, 2010 -> 01:16 PM) Stuy seems to think its Jimmy Hayes the Hawks got from Toronto... if so I really like it! http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/jimmy_hayes It's official, the older Hayes is the guy we got back from Toronto. He's got great size. Hopefully his brother grows too.
  8. Ludvig Rensfeldt was the Hawks 2nd pick. Sounds like another guy with high upside. That's the luxury of being the champs. The Hawks also traded the 43rd pick to the Leafs for an unnamed prospect. Burke wanted to let the player know first.
  9. Hawks traded the 30th pick for the 35th and 58th. We now have 5 picks in the 2nd round. Pretty good for a deep draft. I don't know a lot about Hayes, but I won't trash the guy like most ours. The Bowmans know what they're doing and I trust them. Sounds like he was a draft combine freak.
  10. I've been golfing this summer a lot. You get a lot of good deals in Florida during the summer because no one wants to play in the heat. I hate how I can hit for distance, but as soon as I get within 90 yards of the green, everything falls apart. I'm pretty good in the sand, but the chipping and lob shots kill me.
  11. Wow, FSU had more players drafted than the Big 10. I'm absolutely shocked Ryan Reid was picked. Soloman should have come back and bulked up.
  12. Holllly poop!! http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2010/ne...tory?id=5324240
  13. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 01:46 PM) Chimpy--How do you feel about Martin when it comes to recruiting/developing pitchers? From an outside of FSU who only will see the boxscore or an occasional game on SunSports, it seems like he doesnt put enough emphasis on it. Gilmartin is nice but I wouldnt think of him as a sure-fire ace. Outside of Gilmartin who is consistent for the most part, it seems like a lot of hit or miss guys. For as long as I remember, it seems like FSU can beat the daylights out of the ball but once in a tournament format, the holes in the pitching staff get bigger. You know better than me of course so I was curious on your take. It's funny because Gilmartin wasn't even going to be a pitcher coming in as a Freshman, he just took over in fall ball. Now you can see that he isn't really an ace like he appeared to be last season. I blame Martin for the pitchers because he still has Shouppe on staff. Shouppe has taken a terrible approach to recruiting and developing pitchers. He won't go after guys that throw hard. He would rather go for the junk ballers. Even if we are lucky enough to get a kid that throws mid to upper 90s, he makes him change his delivery and slows everything up. One of my friends is really close friends with a pitcher on the team that used to throw 94-95 in JUCO. Shouppe brought him in (he was from Tallahassee anyways), made him drop down, and now he's been getting rocked. It's frustrating. Martin is too loyal to Shouppe, much like Bobby was to loyal to Jeff. I really thing it'll come back to bite him. I really like Jr. though, but my fear is that we'll hire him to replace Martin just because what Martin has done for the school. Jr. is a great hitting coach, but I don't feel like he's ready for a head job. I would rather like to see him go to a place like Jacksonville or Stetson first.
  14. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 11:52 AM) They have another defense-man that was young and who is more farther along who the Hawks like as well. (I think his name is Connolly?) Hockeysfuture.com says Connelly is a puck mover. He sounds like the perfect guy to replace Campbell if he gets traded. Like others said earlier, defense is definitely an area the Hawks have a good young supply of. The only question is how close are they to being ready?
  15. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 11:29 AM) Little suprised they are still trying to move Campbell between Sopel gone and the unlikelihood there will be takers. I guess they figure they can find a suitable replacement at a lesser price for Campbell if they can dump him though, which makes sense. I still think Versteeg ends up being the guy to go though obviously. And i'm with you Steve, Kaner as 1st team center over Crosby is bizarre. I'm curious to how Simon Danis-Pepin will play into this season. His size is intriguing (6'7"), but I don't know if he's ready.
  16. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 09:27 AM) Let's all laugh at Italy, let's all laugh at Italy....
  17. QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 11:36 PM) I had to do the same, he told me of all these other players we could trade, all of which are either already free agents, or unmovable players like Huet. You can really tell when someone didn't watch games during the regular season. None of them realize that he was even playing defense before the Vancouver series. It's also being reported that we get Joey Crabb in the deal. Looks like a solid AHL player.
  18. Lmao. Typical FSU team, no pitching and no defense. Shouldn't be surprised. Oh well, we would have gotten crushed by UCLA.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 08:10 PM) Classless move by Versus to cut him off so we could see crappy Goo Goo Dolls. Right in the middle of his f***ing speech. I haven't been watching (watching CWS instead). That sucks for Keith though.
  20. Someone said ATL might be over the 50 player limit right now and has to shed a contract before the trade becomes official.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 05:49 PM) To dump Versteeg would be jizz-worthy. 3 first and second rounders. That'd be awesome. I wonder if Tallon would want to move that 3rd overall for some more picks.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 05:47 PM) I hated to see Aliu gone, but it looks like Morin is a much better prospect. Reasoner seems to be a John Madden replacement. Can't argue with draft picks in the top two rounds. Eager is just a guy, Sopel did block a ton of shots in the playoffs, but you can find someone else to do that for much cheaper. Buffs was a vital part of the Cup run, but somebody had to go, his value ia at its highest, and you can't guarantee he will consistently do what he did in the playoffs. It's funny to see all these peoples reactions on Facebook, mostly people who just started watching in the playoffs, who actually didn't see it coming. "OMG, I can't believe they traded Big Buffs, NOOO!!" Twitter too. It's ridiculous. As I said before, the more I read about Morin the more excited I get.
