People were annoyed by him at the start of the season, he actually had been more tolerable since the niners were in the playoffs. But way to make something a bigger deal than it really was and give a I'm better than everyone else attitude.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 3, 2013 -> 10:20 AM) No, it's not just a sports message board. This is a pretty tightly knit community and we should be better than that here. Yes it is just a sports message board.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 3, 2013 -> 09:48 AM) Yeah, instead you lead the public shaming...very classy. I'm not sure what your deal is, this is a sports message board stop being so high and mighty attitude.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 07:15 PM) What does that have to do with anything? Being a lawyer isnt the reason why I think Wes Welker's wife should keep her mouth closed, its the whole "If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all." I just find it weak to make these comments after your husband dropped a pass. If she was so upset about Ray Lewis, she should have made the comments before the game, or while Ray Lewis was still playing. Its pretty lame and Im not going to applaud her for that like so many else. Its just something nobody cares about to read you go on about is pretty much the bottom line. I do appreciate your arguments most of the time but this time it was just annoying honestly.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 05:17 AM) I'm with you on both accounts. I don't see what the people who didn't like it saw. Jennifer Lawrence isn't drop dead gorgeous but their is just something about her. I don't get how you can watch a movie on a computer. I will rent indy flicks on my ipad for my train rides but movies like Django or ZDT, I wanna watch on a big screen. My only complaint about the movie would be the sappy ending. But yeah, Jennifer Lawrence was very hot in the movie and everything else I thought was great.

2012-2013 Official NHL thread

Emery definitely looked terrible in the first 2 periods and I didn't watch the 3rd but given he gave up 2 goals probably wasn't much better. But, it is nice to see the offense really clicking to start the season and overcome it. -
QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jan 20, 2013 -> 09:44 PM) I know that this is EXTREMELY unlikely, but Bourn is still available and a LH bat... I doubt the Sox would make a move like that, especially considering his agent, but he really does fit that impact LH bat that would help the team. Unless we put Viciedo at 3B there isn't really room for him... and than we would have 2 3B who are bad at defense and mash lefties primarily.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jan 19, 2013 -> 07:16 PM) So would you guys be comfortable with going into next season with Webb as the LT? It would be very disheartening. Honestly the guy is huge if he was anywhere on the line you'd think they give guard a shot.

Wasn't there a study in the mid 1900's or somewhere around that time frame that gathered a bunch of normal people and made half of the officers and half of them inmates for a week both knowing that everyone involved was a willing participant and it lead to the group picked as guards to severely abusing the group picked as inmates. I want to say there was another study where people thought they were shocking someone on the other side of a window and it kept becoming a stronger shock up to the participant thinking they killed someone. I know those type of studies aren't allowed today in our country at least but it was pretty eye opening what a normal person is capable of when either given directions or given power.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 19, 2013 -> 09:36 AM) Ok, since this seems to have become the defacto argument people like to use when it comes to this, let me be the first to shoot it down. It's an argument people make without actually giving it any thought...and, well, it's a bad argument. First and foremost, the "army" you speak of is made up of civilians, most of which will NOT fire upon the citizens of their own country (aka their own friends and families) even when commanded to do so. MOST of these men and women will turn these "air strikes" you speak of back on the very people who ordered them. Yes, some of them WILL remain loyal to the government that commands them to turn arms on their own people, some of them are brainwashed enough by their corrupt leaders to do this...and those are the ones that this armed militia will kill off, with the help of the many others that do NOT follow orders to kill their own. Simply put this is not true at all.

I think most agree Carter was not a good president, but to say he has American hate??? I think the guy has done more positive things post-president than anyone before him and probably most after him. But, my order would be Clinton, Carter, Jr., and Sr. I have a feeling Bush Sr. would be very boring and possibly fall asleep mid dinner or I'd put him 2nd or 3rd.

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jan 13, 2013 -> 12:14 PM) Who else is out there besides Smith and Flynn? They need a quarterback desperately. Just because there isn't much out there doesn't make it the right move to pay for a mediocre/bad QB, I don't think either of those guys will be much more productive than Cassel and would cost draft picks.
-
QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jan 13, 2013 -> 12:05 PM) I hope KC trades for him. I don't know why you'd hope for that, if going to trade for a QB make sure he is your future QB.

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 13, 2013 -> 11:44 AM) Good point. However, Smith had a great win last season against the Saints. I see Smith being traded to Jacksonville, since Roman might be the coach there Well carving up the Saints defense is something almost all QB's do lol, but yeah I do feel bad for him he was playing well and lost his starting gig because of an injury even if it was whats best for the team.
-
QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 13, 2013 -> 11:39 AM) Smith did beat the Packers in week#1. Kaep is going to be a superstar for many years to come Week 1 is a lot different than the playoffs.....
-
Not too mention this is a completely different team with Kaepernick starting instead of Alex Smith. Good chance if Smith starts the game the Packers win.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 12, 2013 -> 10:20 PM) Two of the most unlikeable coaches in the NFL won today, not the best day at all. I think most people like the harboughs as long as they aren't facing one another and have to hear the backstory nonstop and about their dad.

I don't understand how after so many years of struggling and being irrelevant, a team gets a coach who brings them into the National Championship Game and a fan would want to get rid of him because of a play call in 2010. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 09:00 PM) Watch out for the SALUKIS...never mind. Sigh New coach give it some time, any interesting recruits for them next year? -
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 10:55 AM) My girlfriend is a therapist and she stated the same thing. For the longest time I thought that it was about sex as well. Men who rape women are simply sociopaths. The sheer irrationality that it takes to commit such a hanus act is simply mind boggling. Sociopaths isn't the right word, there definitely aren't as many true sociopaths in the world as there are rapists.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 07:27 PM) So Lovie's HC days are def over? That would be a great hire. I think he will be a HC but he just wasn't the immediate hot commodity that Reid was, give it a year or 2 and he will be interviewing again for head coaching gigs.

If Egwu plays anywhere near this level the Illini are going to be tough to beat. He doesn't even need to score all the points just be active on the boards and keep his defender honest with the short jump shot and it will be a huge bonus. On a side note, I'm going to miss Brandon Paul even with his faults but will be happy to see Griffey/Richardson go. -
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 05:48 PM) I absolutely agree that people should be able to put things down for 15 minutes, but that's not the point. If the FAA said everyone should have to sit still with their eyes closed the entire flight for the safety of the plane, does that make it OK? Or would you question it because it doesn't make sense, and want a reason for it? If it was THAT big of a deal, as someone mentioned, they'd go around and turn them all off, confiscate them, or not let them on the plane at all. I'm pretty sure plenty of people stop using their device, but just throw it in the pocket in front of them, etc. I'd find another mode of transportation in that case, unless I was traveling overseas in which case the night before I'd stay up to sleep in the plane. But, that is a ridiculous comparison anyways and really I am wasting my time responding to someone that would compare turning a phone off for 15 minutes to being forced to close your eyes for an entire flight.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 12:29 PM) I'm betting most people who don't care about the inconvenience only travel a couple times each year. This meaningless "rule" is quite annoying for those of us who are on 30 plus business trips per year. I travel often enough, I don't have an issue with it at all.... if I cant get away from my phone or whatever for 10 minutes barring extreme circumstances I have a problem.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 2, 2013 -> 10:23 PM) Bears to interview (or have interviewed, depending on the source) Saints OC Carmichael. Worked with Brees in San Diego and called plays this year. Took over as OC in 2009 or 2010. Another guy in a situation where the head coach is the mastermind behind the offense, I don't want any part of the Saints/Packers OC.
