http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2725322 Louisville and Kragthorpe make it public. UL shouldn't lose much ground moving from Petrino to Krag, but Krag still has more to prove. -

If it wasn't a touch down(which is probably wasn't), then it was down inside the 1, so probably a moot point. -

Agree Dan, and I'm not sure how Oregon with one loss, and just defeated the top team in the nation, moves up only one spot in the AP poll. -

Looks like Major Applewhite and Steve Marshall could be sharing OC duties at Bama. With Fischer being hired at FSU(told ya Chimpy :-P). If true, I can't believe how fast Major has risen, 28 and possible co-OC at Bama. He could be a D1 head coach before he turns 35. -
With Albright at Washington and Greg Warren starting for the Steelers. UNC = long snapper U. I'm sure that's a great recruiting tool.

Barring any trouble with the law or outside crap like that, I would expect him to be a Raider. You would hope that the Raiders wouldn't lose their minds and draft someone like Joe Thomas and stick with Aaron Brooks and Andrew Walter. Then again having a young QB with no OL is a recipe for disaster, just ask Walter. I would say the Raiders should trade down and gain more picks, but nobody has enough 1st round picks to entice them this year. New Englands picks are both late in the 1st round. I would also expect that the Raiders will be shopping both Moss and Porter for whatever picks they can get this year. -

UNC #1 in the coaches poll now. I wouldn't have been upset at all had UCLA stayed at top. I would have at least kept UCLA above Florida though with only one loss. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/men...ll/usatpoll.htm Also sucks that Texas Tech didn't get any votes at 12-4 with wins over Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, TCU, UTEP, and North Dakota State. -

Now it seems Louisville is close to hiring Steve Kragthorpe from Tulsa. Should be a good fit, as Krag's entire staff has ties to the midwest and he runs a nice offense. -

If Brohm's brother moves from OC to head coach I could see him staying. Otherwise I think both Brohm and Bush will be gone. -

Petrino to the Falcons, sucks for Louisville, they had built up a nice program. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2723700 -
It wasn't the best players in the nation in the bowl, it was some of the best players in the nation, then some random people that have family in the NFL or connections. There was a QB in the game that is a 1 star recruit, has NO offers, but happened to have the last name of Mara. Rivals.com has started their own bowl called the Offense-Defense bowl that had some good prospects as well.

Any news on how Greg Ellis is progressing and if he will return next year? The defense seemed to totally change after his injury, which really sucks because he was having another good season in his first stint at LB at the pro level.

Aww crap, now I have Lemming agreeing with me on the Roethlisberger comparison for Mallet, I'm going to have to change my thinking.

Noel has been in some, and had a great kick-off return before getting tripped up by the turf, he's something special.

Chan Gailey is apparently interviewing for the Miami job now. Miami could do worse, he's pulling in a hell of a recruiting class though to be leaving it behind. -

Gotta love Mike Patrick's solemness after the loss. I can't remember the last Duke game that didn't have either Vitale or Patrick announcing it. -

I can't imagine passing on Russell if he declares. Raiders could have him sit behind Brooks for a year, or part of the year. He's basically Daunte Culpepper with a stronger arm. If he ends up on a team that has a coach that can keep him focused, the sky is the limit. Has the strongest arm I have ever seen. 85 yards in the air? That's insane. I've heard Vick can get it a little over 70 yards and that always impressed me, but 85? -

Jimbo would be turning down a lot of money at FSU and a lot of freedom with the offense and more offensive talent on the FSU squad. I don't see him turning it down, but who knows. -
Has anyone else thought about the possiblities of our AAA rotation? John Danks, Gio Gonzalez, Lance Broadway, Andy Sisco, Charlie Haeger, Carlos Vasquez, Heath Phillips, Gavin Floyd etc would all seem to be in consideration if they fail to make the big league club. I'm assuming Boone Logan and Nick Massett will be in the Sox bullpen, otherwise the AAA bullpen would be loaded as well. Onelli Perez is another name that could end up in the Sox or AAA bullpen. Knights possibly opening with... 1. Danks 2. Broadway 3. Gonzalez 4. Floyd 5. Sisco and Vasquez, Haeger, Perez, and possibly Logan in the pen again, that's almost unfair. This is the most excited I have ever been with our pitching situation, even more so than when we "loaded up" in the 1999-2000 drafts with pitching talent. Even if they lose Floyd as the 5th starter for the Sox, and Massett and Logan in the pen, we still have a ridiculous pitching unit in AAA, and AA would be solid as well.

Carroll at USC is getting about 2.8 a year currently, but I would bet he gets more re-negotiations to raise it into the 3 million+ range to keep him away from the pro's again. Can't imagine why he would ever leave the job though.
