  1. june is too late with this payroll. Chairman Reinsdorf is going to have to step in soon here.
  2. Simplistic, but the only thing that matters right now is how Chairman Reinsdorf feels.
  3. He's sending a message to KW. Get Pena off the team.
  4. Don't understand playing the struggling Beckham and Morel tonight against Verlander as opposed to yesterday. I guess Morel for his defense at third with Buehrle pitching, but I don't know.
  5. Two guys I'm not worried about are Dunn and Rios. Beckam and Buehrle OTOH . . .
  6. Rios toook a bad rout to a catchable ball that turned out to be a triple
  7. Verlander has no-hit stuff tonight. I'd suggest the Sox build up that pitch count.
  8. Nobody should steal second with 2 out and Dunn up. He's not likely to single anyone home.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 05:24 PM) What do you guys think about splitting up Humber/Floyd in the rotation due to the similiarities in their stuff? Excellent idea. If Coop didn't think of it himself though it won't be done. That's just the way it works over there.
  10. On the pregame, DJ says Sox had good BP today. What a goofed up outfit from top to bottom.
  11. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 08:11 PM) no, because the bulls are awesome Chairman Reinsdorf cares infinitely more about the Sox from a won/loss perspective than he does the Bulls. That's just a fact.
  12. QUOTE (Real @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 08:03 PM) i don't think it's a particular coaching problem for the way this team plays at the start of every season and the end of every season i'm starting to think it's the personnel surrounding the players and the atmosphere they provide in the clubhouse, on the plane, at the hotels, and in the dugout it sort of makes sense, given we have different players and yet they all play eerily similar to every team we field year in/year out like there's never a season-long sense of urgency, even a mild one, letting the players know they need to play hard every day, not just when you're finally in first place so yeah, i'm game for scrapping the entire coaching staff, including cora and walker and guillen, and bringing in someone else with credentials if there's one available, and letting them fill out the staff the way they want and rolling the dice with that same s*** different year: you could say this every april through may 31st for this ball club, time for a change for change's sake Veteran team often means no sense of urgency.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 07:21 PM) When's the "In or Out" thread coming? Oh you are being too negative. Based upon what you shared earlier about Chairman Reinsdorf being pissed, he isn't buying the "it's early" BS either.
  14. QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 07:17 PM) New ownership is the only way I'll ever go back which means I'll never see my team in person again. I don't understand this. There are a whole hell of a lot owners who are worse than Chairman Reinsdorf.
  15. Konerko needs a day off. Hasn't been able to get the bat head out on fastball counts.
  16. Coop needs to stay out of Cork & Kerry's. Or stay in it.
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 06:57 PM) \ By the way, I won't be too upset when Jeff Cox is no longer the 3B coach, either. You're damn right about that.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 06:46 PM) Today from a national baseball writer Interesting. One thing about Saturday that my guy found odd was that the Chairman was at Sox park and not the UC for the Bulls playoff game. Things might be swirling around on 35th pretty soon.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 06:32 PM) I was told today the Chairman is pissed, and heads will roll this year. No idea what that means. Where did you hear this? Last I heard before Saturday's game from my guy at the park was he was still in good spirits.
  20. Why does KW get a pass? The Wilder debacle alone is reason enough for him to have been let go.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 12:02 PM) And not the 51 game stretch to start last season where they played .418 ball? Do you think last year's team was closer to a 67-win team (.418) or a 123-win team (.760).
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 11:50 AM) Which is my point exactly. You aren't going to have a sustained runs like that if you are as bad as you want everyone to believe that the Sox have been under Williams/Guillen. Thanks for putting holes in your own boat. a 51-game run in the last 666 games where they play ~ .760 ball should be considered the outlier.
