  1. So someone, not the terrorists, robbed a 7/11, and that's how they found their whereabouts on surveillance? Pretty incredible.
  2. The dragnet in Waterton is 90% complete. Ugh. Almost looking like he got away at this point.
  3. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 10:45 PM) Mother saying one of her sons was followed by the FBI for 3 years. Teased by CNN before break, interview apparently coming up. You would think then that they would not need the public's help in identifying who they are. Three years and not even a name? So inept FBI.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 09:19 PM) Is that a code for something, or is anyone in Boston wearing a white hat now a suspect? Don't know. There's been a dozen false alarms on there but first time I heard they say they got a "white hat" in custody. Just assumed it referred to his appearance at the time of a marathon Edit: Then they go is it confirmed it is him? "Not confirmed".
  5. "confirmed white hat" on scanner Hopefully not yet another false alarm
  6. Someone being held at gunpoint in Watertown per police scanner. Could be nothing again
  7. http://www.cnn.com/2013/04/19/us/boston-night-unfolds/ Article I read
  8. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 05:06 PM) Maybe I have some facts wrong - but I can't believe they had a shootout with both suspects and one was able to get in a car and escape, and now he could be anywhere. CNN article says he escaped on foot. I don't know how that happens. Common criminals never evade police in chase, let alone someone with theeentire country on him.
  9. No way this guy he is related because he is the coolest guy ever. What a speech.
  10. Bomb robot on the old man
  11. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 04:07 PM) A dead man's switch is a bomb that goes off when the trigger is released, so a cop can't just shoot the guy because shooting him will donate the bomb. Yeah, that is why I thought the guy was a hostage, but don't know, news hasn't picked it up other than mentioning the initial gunfire.
  12. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 03:52 PM) Are they uncovering like a mini terrorist cell there then? Dead man's switch infers hostage to me but that is speculation. And that is just going by the scanner which can be very wrong in the heat of things
  13. They arrested a 60 year old with an explosive device. Not main suspect.
  14. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 03:42 PM) got him at gunpoint, he has a device on him - scanner They said it was a 60 year old. Could be just to throw people off.
  15. There have been multiple interviews with multiple uncles. The one said they were complete idiots and for that reason hasnt bothered to contact them for years.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 02:18 PM) Apparently around 3:00 a.m. last night the internets "identified" one of the suspects as Sunil Tripathi, a student at Brown University. Once again, the identification was incorrect. Cops reported it on their public scanner
  17. Buehrle>Wood replied to Texsox's topic in SLaM
    No. Wrigley is a dump.
  18. New pic of the two suspects:
  19. Sox play of the year candidate right there
  20. http://wfxt.images.worldnow.com/images/22017201_BG2.jpg This is from fox btw. Looks like he is wearing a mask or has a long chin?
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 18, 2013 -> 08:52 PM) On the internet, we tend to include a picture with a post like this. I suck at mobile.
  22. So they leaked a pic of the main suspect. He looks very, very young. But it is grainy
  23. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 18, 2013 -> 05:29 PM) what the??? are you being serious? Yeah, they brought some lady on and she described those photos again. CNN is incompetent.
  24. Cnn reporting again that these kids were indeed the FBIs people of interest.
  25. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 18, 2013 -> 05:11 PM) No it becomes a problem when you have people parroting nonsense and saying "sold, very compelling work." It was crappy bulls*** work. If they want to be helpful, send the pictures to the authorities. Maybe even write your conclusions and say "These guys look suspicious for X, Y, Z reason." But the purpose wasnt to help. The purpose was to drive traffic to their website so that they could make money. Yet people dont get that. I agree with that, but at that point it is on the media. The stories are not initially created to drive traffic. They are created by anonymous users at places like 4chan and Reddit. These users presumably have no financial interests in the sites they post on. But then the story's get lifted from there for the reasons stated and the labeling begins.
