  1. Your one bad at bat comes at a bad time.
  2. Santiago=UNBELIEVABLE TALENT
  3. There we go. Meanwhile WCIU with some cool numbers
  4. Ventura loves playing with fire. It has pretty much never worked out so far this year.
  5. I don't like he is still in there.
  6. Nice work by our 5th starter. Now get some f***ing runs.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 12:05 AM) And the only time he went over 5 innings was the last meaningless series vs Cleveland. Using rhe same criteria Dan Johnson should have been given a $10 million contract to play 1b. He is hitting .150 in AAA I know thhe argument will be he wasn't stretched out, but he gets close to 100 pitches in the 4th inning. Not exactly what you are looking for in a starter. Don't get me wrong, I think Axelrod is smoke an mirrors, I just dont think Santiago is this star in the making many seem to be making him out to be. I still don't see an argument against Santiago though. At worst he is inexperienced, which is better than Axelrod being ineffective. Of course he is showing me up to night, but we'll see how it lasts.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 11:53 PM) How do you know Santiago in the rotation is a good thing? He put up a 1.86 ERA last year as a starter. You know, compare that to Axelrod's ERA over 5 last year and again so far this year. This shouldn't even be a discussion.
  9. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 12:42 AM) That was a terrible pitch Everything he throws is terrible.
  10. Have we taken a lead and then immediately not given it right back this entire road trip? Outside of the lone W....
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 12:38 AM) I asked this last week, but it's intriguing to wonder who could be the starting catcher next year. Seems like it will be someone outside the organization. And we will all throw a welcome home parade for AJ.
  12. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 12:36 AM) I seriously hate Jeff Manto. It may not be his fault, but I've never seen a Sox team fall 0-2 in the count so frequently. Could be worse. We could have Greg Walker!
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 11:19 PM) It would be a terrible thing for our starting pitcher to give up 10 runs, even if we win. Not if it fast tracks Santiago. Of course, he is already on the fast track, and only the Sox are stopping him so I doubt that helps either.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 11:13 PM) Yes. We should root for bad things to happen to the team... in April. What? Eh, I don't know if that's a bad thing. He's saying the Sox will win.
  15. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 08:28 PM) My company's stock shot up big today, new record for the company. Exciting times for a very conservative (historically) company. Guessing you don't work for Disney. Grainger? Only thing I can think of from today.
  16. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 03:31 PM) While I probably would still make Santiago a starter, it is not uncommon in certain settings (like college baseball) where one of your best pitchers will be a multi-inning reliever. You can do like we did with Hector last night, bring him in early in a game with the bases loaded and get out of that jam AND get valuable innings to save the rest of the pen. It is uncommon in MLB and for good reason though. He's appeared in 4 games and has yet to give up a run. Yet we lost every one of those games. Your worst pitcher can mopup and be terrible, not one of the best.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 03:22 PM) Usually when there is such an outpouring on this board about a player being better than what is being used, they wind up failing miserably when they are acquired or do get their chance. Rob Mackowiak and Alex Cintron were must acquire players. Josh Fields was going tobe a star. Remember how mad many were whenCredwathe starting 3B in 2008. Tyler Flowers was very popular as abacup. His popularity is waning by the hour. Santiago is the new flavor. He's doing fine out of the bullpen. Hopfully, Danks is the one who takes Axelrod's place. But there was no outpouring for him. And it is irrelevant if they was anyways. Has nothing to do with how he or Axelrod or Floyd perform. We all wanted Sale to be unleashed too, and now he is our superstar franchise player.
