  1. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 5, 2013 -> 09:57 PM) Yeah that was funny, running up to Groce with his hands behind his back. Illinois has looked ok (you're right, it's been in stretches), but I've been really unimpressed with Ohio State. I haven't seen them much this year, I think this is the first time I've really watched them. Yeah, they look completely terrible.
  2. Did anyone see the ref try to make out with Groce to end the 1st half? It was funny. Illinois not playing that great (in stretches they certainly are) and still mauling OSU.
  3. Illinois should be up by 50 right now. Hopefully they hang on.
  4. Too bad Tyler Griffey is such an awful basketball player, or this game would be about over by now.
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 4, 2013 -> 06:19 PM) Is there something I'm not aware of? http://web.archive.org/web/20050729095038/...w.bendavis.org/
  6. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 03:50 PM) No, Ben Davis hasn't played since 2004 How have you been, Katie?
  7. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 03:59 AM) This is as much on the players as it is Groce, they are weak mentally and have been since BW brought them in. Groce won't have any target on him unless they lose every single game the rest of the way, he's done too well so far and has recruited very well for the position the team was in. Our inside game is awful right now, we have no one who can box out. If the bad losses pile up, and this team misses the tourney, there will be a target on him. Hell, reading the Illini boards tonight, it seems that is already the case.
  8. In all honesty, Illinois looks very poorly coached.
  9. Here's a recap. KENDRICK NUNN and JAYLON TATE, senior guards from Chicago Simeon High School, helped the Wolverines win the 82nd annual Pontiac Holiday Tournament on Saturday night. Simeon beat West Aurora (Ill.) High School 60-47 in the championship game, with Tate scoring 12 points and handing out four assists while Nunn had 11 points. In Simeon's 62-57 win on Saturday afternoon in the semifinals against Chicago Curie High School, Tate had 12 points —including a 10-of-10 effort at the free throw line —while Nunn added eight points. Nunn and Tate each had 18 points during Simeon's 88-53 quarterfinal win against Bloomington (Ill.) High School on Friday, with Tate adding six assists and five steals. In Simeon's first-round 77-20 win against East Moline United Township (Ill.) High School, Nunn had 13 points and four assists while Tate ended up with one point and three steals as Simeon's starters sat most of the second half. The Simeon duo and the rest of the Wolverines get back in action this Saturday in the Cancer Research Classic at Wheeling Jesuit University in West Virginia. The Wolverines (9-1) will take on Montverde (Fla.) Academy, which features Florida commit Kasey Hill, West Virginia commit Devin Williams and one of the top unsigned seniors in the Class of 2013, center Dakari Johnson.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 03:01 AM) I still can't get over the fact that Maverick Morgan is white. Mandatory Illinois has at least one scholi white guy.
  11. Also, what Simeon games did you catch? Nunn and Tate played pretty well this weekend.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 02:51 AM) I saw about 30 high school games in the past week, got paid for it all, and how is Dayton recruiting Chicago talent better than Illinois? Kendall Pollard (Simeon) and Kyle Davis (Morgan Park) are both great. Pollard was really impressive. I think you're the only one who thinks that.
  13. QUOTE (farmteam @ Dec 31, 2012 -> 06:51 PM) Oh wow, you're right. Cincy-Pitt, Gonzaga-Oklahoma St, Michigan St-Minnesota.... Although I'm sure you'd prefer it boring, Iowa-IU could be fun too. We will see.
  14. Didn't realize how many good games there were today.
  15. QUOTE (Lamar Johnson 23 @ Dec 26, 2012 -> 10:15 PM) But AJ proved his value in MLB. Flowers has not done so as of yet. Flowers has no value, outside of being a decent backup for half a season.
  16. Illinois ranked behind Gonzaga. Brilliant. Yes, I get it. Rankings don't matter etc etc.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 23, 2012 -> 06:35 PM) Here ya go. Tell me again about how bad Griffey was. Abrams: +2 Griffey: 0 Langford: 0 McLaurin: -1 Henry: -4 Paul: -5 DJ: -11 Bertrand: -12 Egwu: -13 Surprising numbers. But he was still terrible.
