    Isn't he still broken tho?

He had a 1.3 fwar season last year and projected for the same going forward. I'd like to think CWS FO would prefer either LAD or BAL bats to Kelenic.

They have only one real asset to trade, they need to hit a HR here, not get reclamation projects in this trade.

I'm sure pretty much all of that 1.3 war was accumulated in April too because he spent the next 5 months being awful or hurt.

They really didn't even need a committee.

Once they decided they couldn't take either Alabama or Texas without taking the other...any discussion was basically over, as it became inevitable both FSU and UGA would be locked out by the weekend's results.

Well, not even results with FSU...but "perception" of their 3rd string QB.

It's funny that if UGA won, FSU would still be #4 and Texas would not have jumped them.

Don't know who he is but Jays fans are pissed about it. He's from South Bend area so I wonder if possibly relevant here. Toronto Newspaper seems to hint at that:

"Sometimes organizations let people go before they leave on their own. I suspect that could be the case with the super-talented, highly coveted, under-utilized Ben Wagner"

I'm always blown away by the amount of working/middle class people that are paying $$$ (often $,$$$ for a family of 4) to see the Bulls.  Not to judge books by their cover but the games are full of people who spent a discernible portion of their net worth to attend.  I go a handful of times per year and it shocks me every time.

I don't know post-covid, but a lot of their attendance pre-covid was international travelers.

Considering Getz has said he wants better defensive players and wants to get more athletic.. 2 things Eloy is not, I absolutely believe he's getting dealt to the highest bidder.

The they're is the other teams though.  Those other teams aren't interested.  When he says has to make sense for both sides, it says to me the Sox, despite being desperate to get rid of him, can't even find a low bid.

Yeah, virtually guaranteed we'll be watching Bummer in high-leverage situations on TV next October, listening to how he "just never got traction with the White Sox, but has been a revelation here in Atlanta with a chance to perform on the big stage..."

Nah it's mental with him. He will fail perhaps even harder

  7. This is a hell of a trade on paper. Pretty incredible they got 5 players for Bummer, at least 3 of them who could provide some value. Guess we shall see with Soroka though. Shuster seems like the true headliner; imagine he slots into the rotation right away.

  8. My pick is a definite longshot that I mentioned in the other thread. Brian Barnhart who calls Illini football and basketball. My favorite PBP guy in all of sports. Used to do Angels games years. Has turned down other MLB work to remain in Champaign. He is a Sox fan though so maybe he'd consider, not that he'd ever be asked because he's not in the Jerry-sphere to begin with.

  9. Would really like to see if they can pull Brian Barnhart from Champaign. He's my absolute favorite PBP guy in all of sports and used to do Angels games years before the Illini. He's turned down other MLB jobs to remain there, but Sox would obviously be a closer pull. He's a Sox fan too.

But didn't the Sox tell him to get his other contract/contracts taken care of last year and then come back to the Sox and talk. It's the fault of the Sox!!

And did he do that? Seems to me he just took on even more responsibility. Olympic year too he'll probably miss like all of July.
