  1. Illinois is still in the running, per AAU coach.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 05:43 PM) It better not be ridiculous... I thought they would come up with some horrible, unplayable thing with the controller(I mean, It's Nintendo, makers of the Virtual Boy). But apparantly UbiSoft announced big plans for the Revolution today, so it can't be all that bad. Plus, they tried it with the handheld department, and that did wonders for them.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 05:34 PM) What part is gonna be free? It's already been stated that the old games are gonna cost us. I'm excited about the idea of playing a lot of those old games, and if I choose to buy a system I do believe it will be a Revolution, but I do agree that the nostalgia is going to wear out pretty fast. It'll be the great new games that Nintendo is famous for that'll be their main weapon. I just hope the graphics hold up to the other systems. The free part will be be playing the games online(basically, an equivalent to X-Box live, except free). EDIT: Also, Nintendo hinted at be able to play older games online, once you download them of course. That would be interesting.

Some other things announced at the Lepskrieg Gaming Conference(basically, just think e3): -Mircosofts conference was just about the X-Box 360 and all the pricing and details and things, we knew that. -I don't believe Sony had a conference, as they will be putting their resources towards TGS(Which both the PS3 and X360 will be playable at, for the first time). -Game Boy Micro priced at 99$ and will release September 19th. -New color GameCube coming out(White, heard it looks really nice). It will come bundeled with Super Mario Strikers, although that may be in Europe only. -UbiSoft pledges support for the Revolution. -Zelda: Twilight Princess delayed until 2006. Also, Nintendo will also be finally announcing details about its Revolutionary and innovating controller in the next week or 2. I'm interested to see what it is.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 05:06 PM) What's a joke? THe price? Yes. That 299$ is pure s***. No reason to buy it. Looks like Microsoft will be the only company still using cords. The 399$ is way to expensive for a gaming system. It's bad enough they make you pay to play games online. Also, for whatever reason, the idiots over at Mircrooft decided to skip out on Wi-Fi. I am dissapointed in Microsoft. They had everything going to take the market share lead for next-gen(God knows it won't be Sony and their 1000$ PS3). Now they go ahead and screwed this up. I was interested in buying one, but I'm skipping out. Right now I'm going to stick with the Revolution. It should be about 200-250$. Free, dedicated online play. 100% Wireless. Wi-Fi enabled. And the best thing ever on a video game system: every Nintendo game ever is comes available with the Revolution(Yes, all NES games, SNES games, N64 games. and GameCube games).

QUOTE(farmteam @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 04:41 PM) What does "Xbox Live Silver" membership mean? Basically absolutly nothing. From my understanding, you're not allowed to play full multiplayer online, so I don't get the purpose of it. It is free with the X-Flop 360 anyway, so it's not really included.
  7. EAT s*** NUKE!!!!

    What a f***ing joke.
  9. ^^^^^^^^^^ Also, just because some of the other hitters are good does not mean their on steroids. It's not fair to throw their names around like that.
  10. Let's just sum this up for all of Soxtalk: f***
  11. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 02:16 AM) Let's all remember that Brian Aderson's hit was less important. Because it came with 0 runners in scoring position. :rolly If the great Timo was not on the on-deck circle, BA would of done nothing. We all know this.
  12. TIMO IS GOD'S GIFT TO CLUTCHNESS
  13. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 11:21 PM) why would you say that? they only return 2 starters from last year...... stop drinking the orange kool aid Yeah, me and My Illinois degree, which I don't have, just scream Illini homer. :rolly
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 10:12 PM) They weren't actually confirming anything and both the Kansas boards put little stock in what that station was reporting. Rush's mom recently said she did not know what he was doing and a Kansas source who actually is very well connected to the Rush family has said no commitment has been made by Rush yet and Rush intends to talk the situation over with his family tonight. Aight. I shouldn't take my news from the idiots of at Illiniboard.net. I could go to Phog, but they banned me.(Apparantly, a Bucknell-KU game analysis is trolling). I still think he will end up at KU though. Most of the signs are pointing that way.
  15. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 09:17 PM) no. Why? They are easily one of the best 15 teams in the country. A National Title this year would certainly not be out of reach.
  16. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 07:56 PM) Hold me to this. If Indiana doesn't make the tournament. I'll ask to be banned from SoxTalk. Nah, I like you too much.
  17. There is going to be a lot less exposure going to Indiana when compared to going to either Illinois or Kansas. Both of which are likely to have almost all of their games Nationally Televised. Also, Illinois is already a national title contender with what they are returning. Kansas may have some questions, but have been great the last couple of years. Their still expected to be good. Indiana, on the other hand, will likely struggle to make the tournament again. He's made it known that he wants to be one and done. Stocks rise in March, something Indiana isn't certain to even be playing in.
  18. There's little chance he'll end up at IU. He won't get enough exposure.
  19. This is a sports Message board, how can you not have ESPN? Whether or not it has been doing a crappy job, it's still the monopoly in sports casting. History Channel is the only other channel I watched. I used to watch Disney Channel quite often, until they absolutly destroyed it with their new shows.
  20. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article...t=.jsp&c_id=mlb Didn't take him long to get adjust to his new surroundings.
  21. Even if they did win, we still would of had the better record.
  22. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 04:01 AM) You can't spell grammar either. Ughh. There was a point to spelling it with the "er".
  23. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 04:00 AM) Also home of...see my sig That's what inspired me.
