Steff- I think you're looking for "tossed salad" which actually refers to something else... use your imagination...

Maybe we need to return every piece of cursed Aztec gold and for the blood that initially took it to be repaid... This curse talk sounds like some other group of fans...

Beltran, Beltran, Beltran...

It's interesting to note that the Yankees teams that were built from their farm system were the ones that won. The teams that have since been built by free agency and ridiculous trades that are basically all-star teams, just don't have the same heart that those farm teams had.

I voted Madden because I thought that game had a bit more to it than NCAA did (at least the Madden 04 and NCAA 04 games). It's amazing that two football games made by the same company can be two totally separate. I've had great times doing Group Dynasties with both. A bunch of guys in the dorm all got together for both... great times. The best is doing the off-season until about 9 am from the night before... I love importing the players to Madden the most, I think. I took over the Bills since my buddy took the Bears. I drafted Darius Watts one year, Maurice Clarett, and Shaun Cody the next... I had Hasselback throwing the ball. I went 19-0 one season... it was incredible. I like NCAA, don't get me wrong. Making up Jim McMahon and returning BYU to respectability (just short of the BCS), that almost made me as proud as 19-0... Oh yeah, NCAA was on Heisman and Madden was on All-Madden. Beat that!

I think my least favorite late game ever was one in either 2001 or 2002 when Foulke blew a 2 run lead in the 9th. I stayed up until way past midnight, for that! Grrr... Well, that's not gonna happen this time!
-
Well, I suppose if they go like 5-10, then they might give up the ghost. I'm rooting against Houston!

Yeah. I did hear today, on B&B that apparently the prosecution has been changed. Additionally, the admission of the 75 minute discussion and the blood-stained shirt (despite the denial of admission for the medical examiner's report), is apparently a victory for the prosecution. There may be signs of hope out there for justice, after all.

All we need is for him to get convicted to make the Lakers meltdown complete.

Maybe so, but I still remember what David Justice did for the Yankees in 2000... he was awesome! A great Lefty bat could really help this team out. Especially when you consider how the same guy would also increase the defense of our outfield by a pretty good margin. I think the impact both guys could have on this team are pretty significant. I think you might be surprised with how close the margin is. I dunno. It's a tough call to me with the whole Beltran vs. Johnson thing. They'd both be pretty valuable to this team.
-
As long as he goes nowhere or to the Sox, I'm happy. I am starting to think that with Frank's injury that maybe Beltran would be more valuable to this team.
-
I think that's the best scenario out there. We have upgrade the defense of our outfield. We would then have three guys with good to great range and good to great arms. Additionally, all those guys can hit.

trading off their Bullpen is a classic case of robbing Peter to pay Paul. Their strength is weakened for an unknown quantifyable improvement. I don't know if the Yankees will be able to find a serious third party to help them out in this trade. NOBODY wants to see them get Johnson, probably least of all Colangelo.
-
maybe TBA = Randy Johnson
-
That could definitely be the case
-
Thanks Krush. I don't think anybody has enough to give the Diamondbacks

you're my boy, blue
-
dude, can you do your usual outstanding summary work?
-
I dunno, actually. My rotation (IF the trade happens) looks more like: 1. Unit 2. Garcia 3. Buehrle 4. Garland 5. Esty/Scho Both Esty and Scho have been pretty unreliable lately. I'd trust Garland more than either of them in a big game, right now. I'd definitely rather have him pitch in a playoff game than those two.
-
Of that list, I'd happily send Borchard, Munoz, Honel... the only guys I'd really mind losing are Sweeney, Anderson, and Bajenaru.
-
could be, but isn't Schoeneweis only signed through this year?
-
How about Esty in the Bullpen and Scho as a starter?
-
Sure do! From ESPN
-
If the Yankees want him, their dearth of minor league talent dictates that they're going to have to give up a real major league player... not Jon Lieber. An All-Star, I would think. Maybe Sheffield?

I read an article that said that was a bluff. However, if it is true, then it is essentially a three team race: White Sox, Red Sox, and Yankees.
