QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:14 AM) Willie to 2nd base, and Iguchi to SS if Ozuna is hurt? Nah, I think Willie at SS, he showed some promise there during ST and Iguchi has never played anything but 2B. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:09 AM) Every game, it seems 2 or 3 players come up lame. It's Major League Baseball man, 162 game season, people are going to get hurt unless you field a squad of 25 Cal Ripken Jr's. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:08 AM) Who's our starting SS if Uribe goes on the DL? Ozuna? I don't think we have anyone in the minors who's ready to contribute. Relax man, Juan will be fine. If you have ever pulled your groin before, or even just tweaked it you'll find that it tends to feel MUCH worse than it usually is. It's a sensitive muscle but also heals quickly if you take care of it. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:06 AM) This is getting ridiculous. Will Crede be able to play if need be tonight? There you go, Taco Juan out with a groin pull, Crede in to hit. -
QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 07:16 PM) 13 million a year for garcia? Without a doubt. You have to look at the market and what pitchers who were older, less talented and less proven than him got.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 06:05 PM) this is good stuff, someone needs to do PBP. You can stream it from www.espnradio1000.com

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 06:59 PM) I just think writers are too eager to rip the Sox. They're supposed to be kicking us when we're down. The Sox are obviously not the most popular team amongst sportswriters and national media, but why not at least wait until a 3-game losing streak (That is, if we ever have one this year) to bash us? I agree, the funny thing is he talks about how the focus should be on the guys on the field and not whats going on with Ozzie and Magglio but nobody has control over what the focus is on except for the media. They like to amplify all of this garbage that happens off the field and dont' give us any props on the field. I mean we have won 7 games in a row and are 15-4 and still every single lead in of every sports show is about the Yankees, BoSox and Cubs. No matter what we do on the field, they will never LET the focus be on our players who are playing their asses off, the media likes to take these things and squeeze them and play them out over weeks, it just annoys me as a fan. It doesn't even annoy me so much that we don't get any coverage or respect from the media (I'm happy to just be winning, thats all that matters) but it pisses me off when the only things they want to show about the White Sox are the negative.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 06:58 PM) Sorry chief but I'm addressing a great pattern over just he last week that has included Gammons, Rosenthal, Donovan, and Brantley just to name a few. People at soxtalk don't know how to disagree with someone. Address it in another thread.
-
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) I agree with everything he said really. It is becoming too much of a norm to tear writers to shreds who have opinons on the White Sox that you guys don't like. I read alot of Donovans stuff and most of it is garbage, not just the stuff he writes about the White Sox. And calling him a moron is hardly "tearing him to shreds" so stop being dramatic and relax chief.

I'm just as dissapointed with Rowand as most people are but the team is playing well and one of the characteristics of a good team is their ability to pick each other up. I'm sure most of the White Sox thought Rowand would be one of the prime offensive forces this year but the fact that he is grossly underachieving sort of makes me happy. I can't wait until Aaron and Dye start to come around, not only will it make our lineup that much more potent it will help my fantasy team!
-
We are up by so many runs I would have liked to see AJ try to make that, the ball might have been to home plate before he rounded third, Hawk was pulling for it too.
-
About f***ing time for Rowand....where did everyone go? I'm chatting with myself.
-
QUOTE(thedoctor @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 01:57 AM) how's garcia looking? just by following on yahoo it looks like he's dealing. He is on cruise control right now, one of his best outings of the year in my opinion...I'm pretty sure he has 0 walks which is key for his game.
-
I think I'm being so hard on Rowand and Dye because they are both on my fantasy squad....
-
QUOTE(sircaffey @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 01:26 AM) Exactly why Jermaine is struggling. When he goes good, he hits the ball the other way. He's just not right right now. He'll get it together soon. I still say sit his ass and get Gload in there for a couple of games, he is itching to play and could bring some intensity and quality AB's whereas Dye is just loafing around out there.
-
I don't have anything else to say about Dye and Rowand, this is awful.
-
Again Dye looks like a waste out there. I say let Gload get a few games out in RF, light a fire under Dyes stale ass.
-
Those last two AB's were disgusting, reminded me of past years.
-
I'm still very dissapointed with how Dye and Rowand have hit so far this year.

QUOTE(TheDybber @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 07:25 PM) In Spring Training, Shingo said something about developing a new pitch. He obviously didn't show it in ST. What is the pitch? I don't see too many Sox games unfortunately (cuz I live in Texas). I think I've seen it a few times and I think its a little cutter that he supposedly learned from Loaiza, he throws it against lefties.
