QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 06:10 PM) You'd have to take two actually, and that is only if you can get someone to take you to the south shore line in Chesterton. You would take the South Shore all of the way to downtown, and then walk over to the red line and take the red line down to the ballpark. http://www.nictd.com has the train schedules. Can I just catch the South Shore in Hammond? I'm from Whiting.

I have tickets for tomorrows game but had some car trouble today. I was wondering if there were any people from Northwest Indiana who knew which train (if any) I could take to the ballpark. Thanks.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 06:55 PM) Gene Honda is in STL for the Final Four. He'll be back for Wednesday's game. Thank God, this guy is horrible. I couldn't imagine being at a game with this douche on the PA. -

3/22 your Chicago Whitesox vs Seattle Mariners

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 09:39 PM) Sexson leads off the sixth. Contreras still pitching. Lines it back to Contreras. 1 pitch, 1 out. Lines it back to Contreras should be in green. -
I haven't had a chance to read through this entire thread so forgive me if I have questions/comments that have already been posted. I am very upset about this news but I still have high expectations for the season. If I had the choice of losing Buehrle in April or losing him in August I will choose April. This also gives BMac a chance to step in and do some good things for us. If he continues to pitch as well as he has in the spring I have confidence in him. I don't expect him to throw lights out but if he can give us solid starts I don't mind seeing him in there. I guess at this point I'm trying to remain optimistic but I also know that Buehrle is our horse and pretty much the team leader, and thats always a tough thing to lose. Mark seems like the kind of guy who will do everything to make sure his team is focused on things even without him in the lineup, so although he might not be giving us innings I think he'll still hold things down until the foot heals.

This makes me want to watch Hidalgo.

Steve Stone Joining White Sox Broadcast Tomorrow
valponick replied to Al Lopez Ghost (old)'s topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) The game is also going to be on ESPN tomorrow, maybe he's got a job with ESPN. I could've swore he said Comcast though. OK so is he doing the game on Comcast w/Hawk or on ESPN for the national broadcast? I hope its not on ESPN, I just got done talking s*** to a couple of my friends who are cub fans. -
Watching CSN right now and seeing them back almost gave me the same feeling I have on opening day. I think the 20 ST games are going to be a really good thing for the organization. Also, Frank is gonna be in the booth with them so hopefully he has something good to say!

You can disable some of them from the msconfig menu. If not then each program usually has a "run on startup" box that can be unchecked somewhere in its own menu. If there are specific programs you can't figure out list them here, if I have the same programs or am familiar with them maybe I can be of more help.
-
start menu > run , then type in msconfig, go to the startup tab. you should be able to do everything you're loooking to do from there.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 26, 2005 -> 11:20 PM) Jamie Foxx and Martine Scorsese are, without a doubt, two nominees guaranteed to win their categories. Scorsese's past nominations, director whom won the award: -2002: Gangs of New York. Roman Polanski (The Pianist) -1990: Goodfellas. Kevin Costner (Dances with Wolves) -1989: Last Temptation of Christ. Barry Levinson (Rain Man) -1981: Raging Bull. Robert Redford (Ordinary People) :headshake I agree that Scorsese has gotten it in the ass from the academy way too many times. I just don't think this year will be any different. I would love to see him win though.

I think the only one that is locked up is Jamie Foxx for Best Actor. I'm kind of feeling Eastwood for Best Director and The Aviator for Best Picture.

I just started a new website for online poker players. The address is www.pocketacespoker.net, we are a site for online players who want to get something back for playing. We offer players cash back or poker merchandise for signing up to different poker rooms. For long term players we have Rake Rebate programs. We also have a forum for poker discussion. We just started a promotion today, if you go to the forum and register and post a bad beat story your name will be entered into a hat and we'll pick 1 winner at the end of next week. The person picked will receive either $20 via paypal or 20 credits to spend on merchandise. There are no strings attached, you don't have to sign up for a promotion or anything, just register in the forum and post a bad beat story. I just thought I would make a post about it in case there were any online players who post here who are looking for anything like this. If you have any questions you can PM me or post in the forum on the site. I did get permission to make a post about this from the Admins/Mods so please don't flame me, just check out the site if you want, if not thats cool too!

I like it. Good to know that if need be El Duque is willing to put one in someones ass.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 02:37 AM) I, for one, promote the signing of ballplayers with handicaps. I mean, the man is one-armed and playing baseball. Kudos.

QUOTE(YoungstownIndians @ Feb 19, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) Look at the lineup. Look at the All Stars? I think we have you numbered there.... But yes these mean nothing. But I think my Indians will be at least 2. I have to give the Twins my #1 for now. They have it 3 years running. You're Indians might even finish 4th. Your pitching is shaky at best and that is what wins games. The Twins staff is good, the Sox staff got better and your staff didn't improve. I am glad to see these kinds of preseason rankings though because it allows us to sneak under the radar in Kenny type stealth mode. Nobody is giving our club any credit and that is great because we know how talented we are and that is going to win us alot of games early in the season.

I would really lik to get into an ACTIVE league with a live draft. -
Don't know if this has been posted or not, basically it is Gammons talking about how the Tigers had to sign Maggs and how the Twins and Indians are the frontrunners this year http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/gammons/story?id=1987105

QUOTE(kwill @ Jan 30, 2005 -> 12:22 AM) i dont konw about you guys but for some reason i am still hoping for kenny to pull off one more trade just to take the headlines away from the sosa deal. I believe that the sox dominated the headlines in chicago this offseason, and i would like to see kenny make a trade just to keep the momentum going in our favor. It doesnt sound to logical but i was wondering if anyone else felt this way. I think we still have major pawns to play either now or at the deadline. I think we should keep willie for now and see how crede plays in the first half. IF he doesnt produce we could ship him out at the deadline, iguchi to ss, and put willie back in. I believe the sox could get alot for crede in return. Anyone have these thoughts or am i the only who thinks this way?? By the way who here wants to just kick the s*** out of all the critics who are nto giving kenny credit for remaking the club. He has done a terrific job this offseason but no one gives him props. I think the best part about this offseason was that most of if not all of the moves we made weren't "headliners", they were just solid acquisitions that filled our needs. For example, all of the articles I have read that rate or grade offseason moves the Sox aren't even mentioned because they didn't make what most people would call "impact" moves. I think in the long run our collection of solid moves will prove to be more valuable to our club than just the signing of one big name. At the beginning of the offseason I hoped and prayed for RJ or Beltran but looking back on it now I couldn't be happier with the way the offseason has gone so far. As far as the cubs are concerned, f*** em, they'll finish 3rd again this year.

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) Yet you still have a no Sox related poker ad in your signature. That constitutes spam in my book & I think this is a no-spam site. I can't recall one other poster who has done such a thing. I went ahead and took it out since it bothers you so much. If you knew anything about the site you would know that it is not spam, it is really cool site that has thousands of members who play online poker. I read quite a few threads on this board about poker so I just threw it in the sig rather than start a fresh topic about it (which would constitute spam) so quit being such a f***ing baby. It's a link, if you don't want to click on it then don't, but either way you can probably find more important things you can cry about.

QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 03:17 AM) do you need to be 21 to go or can an 18 year old go??? I'm not sure, I will check on it for you though and see.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 03:08 AM) Thanks for the offer, but I have a self-imposed ban on giving those Northside bastards a dime of my money. Have fun though!!! Understandable! I just think that for $60 its too good a deal to pass up. One of the main reasons I'm posting this here is because most of the people who are going are dirty cub fans, I was hoping to even up the odds.
