Lets just hope Freddy is OK to make his next start, lets hope Magglios injury isn't career ending (he's given us his best years, as fans we MUST hope for his health), lets hope our team gives it their absolute ALL the rest of the year (no matter what the outcome). Lets face it folks, being HEALTHY is the key to winning, we haven't had that this year, but let us hope that throughout the remainder of this year and into next we are healthy and play like we should!

I haven't seen a loss of "stuff" from Freddy Garcia. Just two starts ago he struck out 7 batters in a row, to me that doesn't qualify as a loss of "stuff". I think that the Sox made a mistake in going to the 4 man rotation, even if it was just for 1 start per pitcher, this means a lot more per pitcher than it might seem. Going on 1 days less rest is bigtime when you get your arm in a groove to throw during a designated amount of time.

200 a seat? I dont think there THAT nice. 200 aint that bad... I would not pay over 16 grand to sit and watch the Sox, sorry. :headshake You can buy individual game tickets. They just offer them to season ticket holders first, then the rest go on sale to the public.

I wonder how much of this is coming from U.S. Cellular and how much is coming out of big JR's pocket. Either way I am going to get me a few games next season!

I wouldn't go as far to say that 5 games back is NOTHING. But there is no reason to not believe (the way things have been in this division this year) that the Sox can't reclaim first place by mid-August. I know that you can't rely on other teams to beat Minnesota but I'd much rather seeing them playing teams like the Angels, A's and Rangers than the Royals or Cleveland. And lets not forget we still have 6 left with the Twins.

Normally I don't like to look that far ahead and say we have to go "XX-XX" in our next so many games. The way I look at is we need to go 1-0 in our next 1 game. But if you are looking at it that way, I think we definitely can make up 5 games in two months. Look at what Cleveland has done, they have been coasting vs the Royals and made up a few games in the standings really fast.

No worries. Minnesotas schedule will catch up to them this month.

As far as I am concerned Ozzie CAN NOT take Aaron out of the leadoff spot the rest of the year (assuming we don't pick up a prototypical leadoff man). I know he doesn't have the blazing speed, can't lay down drag bunts or do other things like that but he has the best HEAD for that spot. He is old school and plays the game right. He can hit for average and power, has been successful stealing bases and doesn't strike out a whole lot. This is just ones man opinion but I feel best when Aaron is leading off rather than Willie, Uribe or Timo.

A couple thoughts on that inning. WTF was Uribe doing?? He should have been benched on the spot. My only guess is that due to the pitching change he wasn't aware of the outs situation and just had a brain fart. That is no excuse but that happens sometimes. Ozzie looked like he wanted to cry....either that or kick Uribes face in with his cleets. And lastly, is Willie that slow or does he get that poor of jumps?? In my opinion Rowand is our BEST base stealer. At leasat when I hear Hawk say "and there he goes" when Rowand is on base I am thinking to myself "he'll probably make it" but when its Willie I am thinking "sweet, another out." And Ben Davis might have saved this game today, mentally speaking.

Peter Gammons just reported on ESPN news that the Yankees and White Sox had a deal worked out that would send Contreras and someone else to the Sox for Loaiza and another pitcher but Contreras wouldn't waive his no-trade.

I've only been reading/posting here for a few months now and I think most people here panic for the simple fact that they aren't true fans. If the Sox lose a series, get swept, lose a close game etc.....most people on this board are ready to give up on the season, calling for people to be traded and what not. Being 3.5 games out with over two months to play is not being in that bad of a position. We, as fans, have to keep it together just like the players do. If we stop supporting them and going to the park to watch the games this team won't succeed. Fans are an integral part of every successful organization, I just wish there weren't so many bandwagon fans here.

Very well put. I'm with this team until the end, and I won't say its over until we are mathematically out of it, and boys and girls we are a LONG way from that. I think with the soft part of our schedule coming up and the Twins running into the hard part of theirs we will be ok. GO SOX!

Kenny Williams has always been pretty good about flying under the radar with his deals. I think he'll make a move or two, I don't think it'll be anything blockbuster but just some additions to bolster the pitching staff.
