  1. Baltimone - Don't want to touch any of those salaries Toronto - I'd love Zaun KC - Nobody, no real need for Tony G. Seattle - Get Olivo back Montreal - Livan Hernandez Pittsburgh - nobody. Wouldn't give up a MLB ready player for Benson and don't want to take on Kendalls contract. Colorado - Shawn Chacon maybe. Arizona - Lot of players I'd LIKE to have but not at the price they are asking.
  2. If this did happen, Mark Mulder leaving Oakland for the southside would ease the pain a little bit.
  3. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/boxscore?gid=240721105 I don't know why they're putting Maggs back in RF. I say let him DH until that knee is 100%.
  4. Not his decision. If Ozzie wanted him to bunt he would have bunted. The game changed because Marte is throwing like s*** tonight.
  5. Any other details besides knee soreness? We can't really afford to have Maggs sit right now.
  6. Where are you guys seeing the lineup? On yahoo they still have Ordonez in RF.
  7. This is a totally unrelated Everett topic. I don't think that he has put on much if any weight. Everyone was talking about how fat he looked, I really think its that Montreal uni that made him look like a tub, either that or the Sox unis are slimming.
  8. To all you Everett Haters shame on you.
  9. I know that Maggs got thrown out on that play but his knee looked great, just a side note. Carlos goes deep. 2-0 Sox.
  10. Honestly, I have no idea what it would take to get him, I'm just going off of everything I've read and heard on the radio in the past couple of days. I guess how much I like Everett here depends on what it costs to get him here.
  11. I don't see how getting Everett is taking a gamble on our season. Our season is going to be won or lost on that piece of rubber exactly 60' 6" from home plate, not in the batters box. Everett would fill out the DH spot very nicely in my opinion, at this point I would rather have Everett and give up a mid-level prospect than try to go after a "big name" and give up more top prospects. Just my opinion.
  12. I agree. I think this might be a textbook case where a "change of scenery" would really help Everett. He was solid last year. We know we aren't going to be able to find someone who can produce like Frank does but for as cheap as we can get Everett I like the idea. He is a good guy to have in the clubhouse and is a solid switch-hitter. I say bring him here, why not, maybe playing for a contender will motivate him.
  13. Why does it have to be a definite win? We're still in first bro, relax.
  14. Good for you, I hope you work hard at your game and go to college and play. I say that becauase if you have played at a high level of competition you view the game differently. Being a player and a fan is different than just being a fan.
  15. Yes I did. Hope you did well at your game tonight bro.
  16. Once again, it amazes me the lack of support on this board. How do you think players would feel if they frequented this board for content? Seeing their fans jumping on and off the bandwagon all year long. Harden did throw well tonight. The guy was throwing darts up there, 97 mph with movement to both sides of the plate, I mean come on. Kid has game, we know this, don't be surprised. There are two reasons we lost this game. Number 1 : Garland lost the strike zone tonight, 5 or 6 BB, I can't remember Number 2: Timo's error (what the f*** was that about?). This is one of those games where you have to sit back and say "kid threw well, we weren't sharp and can play better." I have a strong suspicion that nobody here played ball beyond little league, I myself played D-I college ball. If you know the game you'd know that games like tonights game mean little to nothing. The Twins lost, we lost. Maybe we should have won, but if you keep that mindset going into tomorrows game you're gonna lose again. These guys are professionals, they know the mistakes they made and they'll fix 'em. My .02 for the night.
  17. anyone elses FSN just screw up??? I kept getting a loop of Maggs first pitch and then I come back and its the Home Run Replay....either way....YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOOOOOARD YEEEEEESS! Lets keep this going!
  18. Again I agree. This is all very tough speculation but I just thought of something else. Maybe the reason they are even considering Beltran is because we have so many games left against the AL Central, a division he obviously knows very well. People have knocked his .265 average over in the NL but that is understandable, new pitchers, new parks. I know we still have a ridiculous amount of divisional games left and Beltran would be ideal for that particular situation, but yes it would cost us a lot, BUT I want to win.
  19. Precisely. Having a reliable, everyday bat in the lineup at DH is key right now. I know we have Maggs back and everything but Timo or Gload DH'ing just isn't going to cut it. This also leads me to believe that the Sox are assuming Frank is going under the knife and is lost for the year. And to go along with what you said, he is a strong clubhouse presence and that is pretty much what this team is all about so I'm sure he'd fit well. Maybe fill a little of the void in the clubhouse from when MO left. All of this being said, if they are just going after a rental player I would like them make a push for Finley.
  20. I can see Randy ending up in Los Angeles or San Diego. Both have solid prospects and a little bit of money to play with.
  21. Yea I just checked we got: Garland vs Harden Buehrle vs Zito Garcia vs Redman I feel really good about all 3 of those matchups, I don't know about the rest of you though. Didn't realize it was a 4-game set. I would imagine the 4th game would be Loazia vs Mulder in which case I still feel good about the series. I think we'll finally lift that west coast curse or whatever you call it.
  22. To tell you the truth I'm not worried about this roadtrip all that much. We've played the A's tough this year and our bullpen blew the games we lost, I think we are much more solid in that respect. Texas is about to crack....Rogers, who has been their most consistent arm this year, is hurt right now and won't be full strength if he pitches at all. Cleveland always battles us hard but we usually get the best of them. Correct me if I'm wrong but we haven't faced any of these teams with Maggs (except cleveland maybe) and Garcia, so I think we are in much better shape. Also Harden is starting the first game of that Oakland series, I feel alot better about that than Hudson or Mulder. We probably won't even see Mulder and Hudson is hurt. So yea, I feel pretty good about this trip.
  23. Isn't it always 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3.....? Or do records take over?
