July 14, 200421 yr What is your 1st half Play of the Year for the Sox? Is it the Buehrle Kick/Header save? Is it C-Lee's stolen HR of Raul Ibanez? Is it something else? I want to know. Personally, my 1st half Play of the Year was the Beuhrle play. It was so hilarious. a sharp grounder hit back up the middle, Buehrle kicks it off his head, picks it up, and throws the runner out at 1st. Awesome!
July 14, 200421 yr Mine is Timo's 3-run single last Thursday that helped us come from behind to beat the Angels. I was in attendance that day, and it was one of the greatest moments I've witnessed at the park in awhile.
July 14, 200421 yr I know this is supposed to be one play but I'll go with the timo trifecta. The 3 run single vs. Anaheim, the 2 run homer to tie the game up at florida, and the single against cleveland that tied the game when the sox were down by 6 going into the 7th and down 4 going into the 9th.
July 14, 200421 yr How about Timo toying with Zambrano at 1st and then Crede hits the next pitch out of the park? I was at that game, and that was priceless.
July 14, 200421 yr well, I loved that 0-2 curveball that maggs just leveled into left field to win the game vs. the royals...that was pretty badass
July 14, 200421 yr Author I remember that Dan. I junped about 10 feet in the air after Joe hit that rocket out of the park.
July 14, 200421 yr My favorite "play" would have to be seeing Shingo's expression after getting a save. He always has a huge smile on his face and the crowd is going crazy.
July 14, 200421 yr Author Actually bmags, it was an 0-2 slider low and in and Maggs just golfed it out of the park. Once again, AWESOME!
July 14, 200421 yr I'll go with not a certain play, but rather a performance. Gotta be Jon Garland's eight inning (IIRC?) gem against Minny to complete the sweep. Santana was filthy good, yet Garland shut the door. Props to Jon.
July 14, 200421 yr There's no doubt in my mind that so far, Timo's 3 run single off of K-Rod last week was the biggest play of the season. The Sox were on their way to losing 6 in a row, and being 3.5 games back. However, Timo's hit sparked the comeback, and the Sox went on to win 4 in a row, and captured 1st place at the break.
July 14, 200421 yr Damaso Marte coming in against the Yankees and inducing the 4-6-3 double play to avoid the sweep was one of my favorites.
July 14, 200421 yr that curved a heck of a lot for a slider...i remember it looking like a curveball, but your prolly right, it was a slider...i also remember, soon as he hit it, it was out, but for some reason hawk thought it was popped up.

Which game was that again? I have my free trial of MLB.TV and want to watch it again
July 14, 200421 yr Which game was that again? I have my free trial of MLB.TV and want to watch it again That was the Thursday night game at Comiskey Park...It was on WCIU, IIRC.
July 14, 200421 yr I have to go with the Timo bases clearing base hit too. I was at the game; it's rare that I get to even see the Sox in person, and to see a comeback like that in person was incredible. This has been a fun year so far; here's to hoping that it just gets better from here!
