Addressing the OF shortage (Robert Injury Spinoff)
If you really want to go for it, trade some of your better prospects for Kris Bryant. He looks incredible this year and would instantly be their best slugger.

DH is likely next year in NL.

And who knows what Mercedes actually is come the end of the season. No reason to accommodate him long term right now after one good month.

Hamilton will surely play due to it being a homecoming. No worries, Reds offense stinks at home....

I don’t think anyone would take on Grandal’s full contract right now. Good idea but Braves could probably try to get a cheaper guy.

Addressing the OF shortage (Robert Injury Spinoff)
Mercedes really picked up the slack, but we’re seeing some cracks in the offense the last ten days. Eaton looks like his injuries are causing his offense to plummet.

Addressing the OF shortage (Robert Injury Spinoff)
You trade prospects then for an upgrade, not a key part of the rebuild going forward. And yes if Robert is out a few months and they suffer a couple more injuries, this won’t be their year. What we’re seeing is an organization that neglected their depth in the offseason when everyone knew they needed more help. Instead of money, it will now require trade assets.

I also think it’s important to keep Eloy’s power around. Sox are last in the AL in homers at the moment, and the offense has really scuffled of late when they’re not hitting it out of the park. Having a 5 thru 9 hitters in your lineup with 1 combined homer on May 2nd is almost impossible to imagine.

2021 MLB Draft Thread
Looking back, Fulmer got a lot of strike outs on pitches way out of the zone. Those are pitches that professionals won’t chase. Leiter seems to dominate in the strike zone.

Eloy is a premier slugger. Tapia can’t even put up impressive numbers playing in Colorado. Eloy will be a DH for the Sox for the next 6 years and mash them ball. I would rather Mercedes prove he’s not a one month fluke before making long term decisions relating to him.

Luis Robert grade 3 strain/torn Hip Flexor, est. out 12-16 weeks
Mid-May I believe, but he’s had a few setbacks already

The TLR Manager Thread
Had the privilege of watching a TLR postgame Zoom session. Good lord, he makes Ventura look like The Rock in terms of enthusiasm.

5/2 Chicago White Sox vs. Cleveland 1:10 PM
Eloy, Robert, Yoan and Anderson are all guys that have struggled to stay healthy for an entire season. Sadly two of them already have major injuries. Unfortunately the lack of depth was something everyone but the front office should have seen coming.

Lamb taking strikes, swinging at balls. Heck of an effort today by the offense.

5/2 Chicago White Sox vs. Cleveland 1:10 PM
Seems the offense goes silent every other game the last ten days or so

Bigger issue is they think Garcia, Hamilton and Lamb are legit depth pieces. Sitting around until August to have Eloy and Robert both in the lineup would be a very dumb decision.

Loss doesn’t bug me at all. It’s the thought of Robert being out 1-2 months which is devastating.

Stop throwing him fastballs on inner half

The Say Sorry to Rick Hahn Thread
It’s so true...if this is supposed to be a contending team, you have to sacrifice some prospects if you suffer major injuries

Exactly, gonna need someone to step up.

It’s May and the Sox have 1 homer on the season from their 5-9 hitters in the order.

Stat guys, is Lucas’ release point the same as last year? Seems a little different to me but could easily be proven wrong.

5/2 Chicago White Sox vs. Cleveland 1:10 PM
Abreu is swinging an incredibly slow bat. His average at home this year seems terrible.

Hahn is going to have to bring in a legit bat. Assuming Robert is out 4-6 weeks, they need more power in the lineup. Can’t keep putting out lineups with mediocre vets.
