FWIW I was going through the College World Series thread from after he got drafted and saw where he made a huge error and was really pressing at the plate.

Say what? That it’s not good enough to contend? Because IMO it’s not. Too many weak hitters and we can’t hit RHP. If they’re relying on Engel to fix all the issues, then that’s their fault.

Just go trade for a LF that can slug a bit. This lineup just isn’t good enough to contend.

Losing Eloy’s charisma and adding the curmudgeon as manager has really made this team less enjoyable. Given the sloppiness as well, it’s been a really hard watch.

I’m not going to worry too much about the starting pitching innings, as our defense is giving up an insane number of extra outs needed. For every error made, there’s another play that should have been made.

Yep we were gifted that game today with miserable pitching by the Mariners with a simply awful Sox lineup. Winning this would have made up for one of the Angels games they should have won.

I think the shift stats today are just as concerning as the bullpen handling.
