  1. Shields is a joke. Rick Hahn sure sucks at acquiring current major leaguers.
  2. Sick and tired of basically every pitcher on the team having bad control
  3. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 19, 2018 -> 01:17 AM) James might have a very nice career in front of him as a reliever. Yeah, nope. He just has nothing on any of his pitches anymore
  4. QUOTE (Insp @ Apr 19, 2018 -> 01:06 AM) Why is Engel still in the lineup? You mean majors
  5. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 10:09 PM) To go from being up 6-1, to up 9-8, takes a special bullpen skill set. Also illustrates how much MiGo being washed up hurts. Can't have him and Fulmer pitching back-to-back, as they will kill your pen
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 10:08 PM) Too early to start thinking about another Top 3-5 pick in 2019? Nope, not with the worst pitching in the AL
  7. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 10:01 PM) Pen is just so bad...painful to watch Good thing Ricky keeps playing for one run early in games with Mariano and company in the pen
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 10:02 PM) I think Bummer is acceptable, rebuilding club, young good arm. Boone iirc jumped from A ball and was put on a team that was pseudo contending. Results are the same though Freaking Hafner
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 09:59 PM) Nothing; He hasn't passed the eye test much at all. The only thing that gave me some hope was that little run (which was totally unexpected) he had to finish last year. Outside of that, not much to like about Fulmer's performance. He never passed the eye test in the minors. He has been a massive bust
  10. QUOTE (Chris Sale @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 09:59 PM) Check that --- he wasn't even in a jam! Just 1 on 1 out. Strange decision. This is getting painful. Hopefully we get out of this inning with a lead. Pitched yesterday
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 09:56 PM) Bummer kinda sucks. Which is weird because he shouldnt, given the movement on his pitches. Reminds me of my first exposure to Boone Logan Both rushed to majors for no reason
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 05:06 AM) Tip your cap. How close was he on the previous fastball that he fouled off? At least he's timing 96-97 mph stuff. He was behind on the fastballs in last at bat. Had a good swing on 3-1. Anyone in baseball strikes out on that 3-2 pitch
  13. Nasty final pitch. Team is crazy bad with RISP, as they even had two hits that didn't score anyone
  14. QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 04:39 AM) Love it, keep that momentum going. Funny thing is fWAR loves his base running and likes his defense so far. After tonight, his bsr value is higher after 14 games than it was all of last year
  15. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 05:28 AM) def a low point. Hasn't been all bad. Lopez was good and Yoan has shown flashes.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 04:26 AM) Is our AAA manager any good? Let him take over the big league club if we must save $$. Ricky needs to go. When we play this bad I think about Jason on a podcast saying how overjoyed every single Sox fan was at Soxfest. It was a party with people cheering Hahn everywhere he walked and worshiping him cause everybody loves the rebuild. A few people I trust thought Grudz was HORRIBLE last year. Players were lazy and he didn't stick up for them when there were issues with umpires. Hopefully he improves this year despite having a garbage roster.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 04:23 AM) Why? You and I know they aren't ready to spend on players (yet) no matter what the attendance is. You're right, they're going to have like a 50 million dollar payroll next year
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 04:18 AM) I'd fire Ricky. No offense to Ricky lovers but his refusal to change the lineup for whatever reason is stupid. Fire him. Oh wait, we don't want to pay two manager salaries I'm sure. Sox management should be embarrassed.Hopefully they don't have one crowd over 20,000 til the Cub series. You complain they don't spend money on players but you hope their attendance sucks? That's a horrible take.
  19. QUOTE (South Sider @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 04:10 AM) Cahill isn't this kind of pitcher anymore, our guys are just mentally f***ed. He's not horrible. Would have been a way better signing than Gonzalez. But yes, this team is mentally defeated. They're on one of the worst offensive stretches I've seen. It's like the third full week of the season and they look like they want the season to end.
  20. Another weak swing on a hanger. But don't worry everyone, they all put on a show in BP in Arizona
  21. QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 03:44 AM) I noticed that too. Pitch number 3. Yep borderline strike he made look like a foot off the plate
  22. QUOTE (ron883 @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 04:09 PM) What Todd Steverson has been able to do with our hitters has been extraordinary. Hitters are finally flourishing, including those who weren't surefire prospects. Matt Davidson looks like a whole different guy. Adam Engel appears to not be a completely atrocious hitter anymore. Tim Anderson has developed nicely. Avi has become a stud. It is time to give this guy a little credit. I'm not trying to give him all the credit for these players improving, but the adjustments he is having the hitters make seem to be paying off. Is it time to lock him up for the near future? Problem with considering firing him is you've had him work with all the prospects is the offseason and ST.
