  1. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 06:34 PM) But its the second game of the year, no one is struggling. It's too early for that Struck out 7 of last 10 AB going back to Mil
  2. Anderson swinging an invisible bat so far.
  3. Zangari
  4. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 08:24 PM) A guy who is intriguing to me (mostly because I favor advanced-feel college bats) is Pavin Smith, a left-handed first baseman out of Virginia. So far this year, he is batting .322 with a .390 OBP, .602 SLG with 10 HRs and only 3 Ks (that seems really low for a power hitter, but that was based on my last check of his stats off UVA’s athletic website). If that K number is correct, then he clearly is getting extremely unlucky hitting wise and you could presume that his batting average would steadily increase as the season goes along. According to MLB Prospect Pipeline, he is the Number 14-ranked prospect in the Draft. Interestingly, he is rather athletic and while he is a “strong defender” at first base, he might be passable in the outfield. Picking at 11, he might be there and I would be thrilled to have another advanced-feel college bat. Yep he's intrigued me also. UVa is a monsterous field as well
  5. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 08:11 PM) Happy to get Calipari's ex-#1 recruiter. Not so happy his HC record sucks and he was fired amid an academic scandal. He destroyed what was left of USF's program. They had to give the great Brian Gregory a huge deal to clean up the program. Sounds like he had no respect for the university or the players.
  6. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Mar 30, 2017 -> 06:47 PM) I think we need to settle this debate by having both of their wives mud-wrestling.... seriously though, Kim DeJesus is a babe. Apparently Pods got divorced
  7. Wyatt gimmick has become very lame
  8. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 01:41 AM) I would agree if Roman wasn't so incredibly bland. His moveset is absolutely cringe-worthy. The superman punch might be the most nauseating move in the industry right now. The spear is the most over used, skill-less move. Then what else does he truly have? He's incredibly slow, bland, and boring, yet gets every single opportunity thrown his way. I dont think this is the good kind of heat, this is the heat that people legitimately want him off their TV. He's just not entertaining. Reigns is incredibly slow? Seems pretty damn agile to me.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 01:53 AM) He won't go #1 Not even close, he could be dropping big time.
  10. Might have been Greg that asked how should we judge games. Spoiler alert, this game has been bad. Q and Anderson real bad. Oh well, minor league games start soon
  11. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 10:01 PM) Well....Anderson looks terrible Looked real bad over the weekend in Milwaukee. Seems he's just hoping to make contact and has no confidence in his swing
  12. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 08:52 PM) Over/under on steverson given the boot sometime during the season? No chance, if he survived 2015, they clearly like him
  13. Bad baseball by May there
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 08:37 PM) Ok, the Garcia baby announcement thing is probably the happiest thing that will happen in our ballpark in 2017. No way, free Twinkie day when Moncada is called up will be the highlight
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 08:32 PM) It's going to be interesting what the consensus is on the state of the rebuild on August 1st. Think it matters how the minor league studs do. If they have bad years, then all hell breaks loose. Cubs fans didn't mind the rebuild because their prospects were having incredible minor league seasons
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 08:32 PM) Abreu is just having an awful game in the field today. It is like no one from the Tigers or White Sox wants to be in the field today. It was obvious last year he should have been made full time DH. His defense cost the Sox a few games last year. The Sox are solid defensively up the middle but absolutely terrible everywhere else
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 08:26 PM) This is going to get old really fast. Just wait until we have to watch Covey starts for a month
  18. This defense is going to be really bad at times. Abreu proved last year he has no business playing in the field.
  19. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 07:47 PM) His value as a trade piece means more to the White Sox than whatever he does on the field. Does one terrible game jeopardize his vaue? No, and I don't think anyone has suggested as much. But it absolutey cannot be a reoccurring problem. It's easy for Hahn to hold off trading Q assuming he'd pitch at his usual level and maintain trade value . "Wait until the trade deadline" ive heard many say. But if he doesn't......wow, that would be TERRIBLE for this franchise's rebuilding effort. It's just the risk we've accepted. Perfect post
  20. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 07:51 PM) And he Ks, frustrating. Not a major league hitter, but might as well give him a shot
  21. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 08:25 PM) Exactly. People need to calm down, its one game . Q is probably the only player you pray gets off to a good start
  22. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 08:21 PM) would like to see Anderson use this year to really work on his discipline. no reason to swing at a 1-0 slider off the plate It might get ugly for him this year. Pressing due to trying to justify his contract while the league knows how to attack him. And let's face it, we have seen a lot of promising young Sox hitters completely implode in year two.
  23. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 07:57 PM) I'm worried that Frazier is going to absolutely crater this year. At least they haven't extended him. If he's bad, just say thanks and bye
  24. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 07:50 PM) I think the same can be said for Abreu, Frazier and Robertson's value to a lesser extent... its funny I look around on opening day literally rooting for contending teams to have bullpen meltdowns in hopes they will make a run for Robertson or jones You're likely not getting anything significant back for any of those three though. I also think Abreu will stay around to babysit
