  1. Getting Newman as main hitter in a Q trade would be disappointing. Also, watching video of Martes pitch, he sure looks like a future reliever.
  2. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 5, 2017 -> 09:45 PM) I think it's relevant in this thread, but the Rays turned down a Martes, Tucker, Paulino ++ for Archer. That is crazy. Makes me think there could be a deal between Sox and Astros
  3. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 5, 2017 -> 01:16 AM) So "indefinite" means 1 game in Duke. Clearly intimidated by GT after their UNC upset
  4. One of the contributors on the Garfien podcast yesterday sure seemed to think/know that the Hammel is interested in the Sox
  5. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 25, 2016 -> 10:34 PM) WSD tweets that Yankees backed out which I'm fine with. I think Pirates nut up and trade for Q and keep Cutch Want nothing to do with pirates trade unless Meadows is main piece or Bell is second piece.
  6. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 06:05 PM) Why doesn't it make sense for the Pirates? And maybe the Yankees think McCutchen is likely to bounce back into a 6 WAR player and quickly become more valuable than the players they gave up. I think people tend to overreact too much to one bad year. McCutchen could be an excellent buy low candidate for certain teams at the right price. Pirates giving up Cutch, Glasnow and more just seems like a lot. Yankees don't have much need for Cutch this year either
  7. Just want to predict the 3-way trade blows up. Doesn't make sense for Yanks and Pirates
  8. Rutherford was a top 5 talent in the draft
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 04:29 PM) Yeah, I'd rather not get back Keller and get back more bats. This team needs position prospects, otherwise we are just pushing the rebuild even out further down the road, assuming the pitching actually works out. Keller is way more valuable than Newman, IMO
  10. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 04:19 PM) Would you guys be happy with Glasnow/Diaz from the Pirates, and Rutherford/Andujar from the Yankees? Probably, as Rutherford might be better than Meadows. I will go and cry as I look at the Josh Bell poster in my room.
  11. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 04:13 PM) Rutherford and Keller are the most exciting pieces of the names mentioned IMO. I might like Keller as much as Glasnow. Read a couple of scouts saying Keller is definitely better than Glasnow
  12. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 05:08 PM) I think the White Sox end up getting Glasnow, Rutherford, Andujar, Keller, and I really like that package. If they could somehow swing getting Diaz as well, it would be an outright fantastic package. I just can't see Glasnow, Keller and Cutch being traded for Q
  13. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 04:02 PM) Nope, it seems like it would have to be just Glasnow. Yankees should have to give up a little more. Something like Glasnow from Pirates, Rutherford, Judge, and Andujar from the Yankees. Wonder if Robertson could be sent to Yankees here. Those three are a lot for Yanks to give up for cutch
  14. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 04:57 PM) Glasnow, Rutherford, Keller, Newman. Agreed but more likely is Glasnow, Rutherford, Andujar and Diaz
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 04:56 PM) We should play a game of pick 4. If Pirates are getting rid of Cutch, I can't see them giving up much more than Glasnow
  16. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 04:55 PM) Shields was a typical Sox move that a blind man from another dimension could have predicted. Anderson's call up was easy to predict because everyone knew the Sox signed Rollins to work with Tim on his defense as well as to hold SS so the Sox could wait on the callup to be the exgra year of control. Your examples further back up what I'm saying. Also not going to take trade rumors serious from a guy that loves to post the most random and meaninglsss nonsense. Pizza plug from his favorite spot down the street, how drunk he got last night or about the size of the dump he took this morning. Yep, he's a good source alright. He called the exact Shields deal a week before finalized
  17. Seems like an awful lot for Sox to be getting back. Can't see Glasnow and Keller being involved
  18. WSD nailed like three moves during the season.
  19. Good thing we aren't trying to compete next two years
  20. Common belief was they drafted safe college pitchers so they could use them as trade bait
  21. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 01:23 AM) I've been traveling all day, anything new? Or just still a lot of speculation? Just that Pirates still interested despite signing Nova
  22. Don't think there's any way Meadows is available
  23. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 12:58 AM) You really like Bell. Are you concerned that a deal that did not include Meadows (but did include Bell) would leave us without enough premier hitting prospects after moving our top 3 pieces? A little but can't fault them for getting best possible talent
  24. Just a feeling but I don't think Pirates will give up Newman. I'm guessing Glasnow, Bell and Hayes is the structure of the deal
