  1. The fact the Sox haven't been linked to any FA yet makes me think a rebuild has a greater chance of happening. Already hearing about teams interested in Morales, Desmond, Napoli and EE
  2. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 12:04 AM) C'mon now. They didn't even carry White Sox stuff at the start of the season! Yes they did...samardzija jerseys
  3. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 7, 2016 -> 07:07 PM) I didn't even think of Jones as a comparable to Giles of last off-season. If we were to receive a similar deal, whoa. I would love if they could use Jones to get Josh Bell. Pirates need a righty late inning guy
  4. Don't have time to check but did anyone post Crasnick's quote from an NL scout saying Sox are sick of Sale's antics? Goes along with everything I've heard.
  5. Sanchez seems untouchable to me now
  6. Morales not offered....I bet Sox go after him
  7. QUOTE (Tony @ Nov 6, 2016 -> 05:34 AM) Yeah, they would never do that with another team, ha. But with the pull Bill Murray still has over there, along with the influence Chicago has over SNL the last 40 years, it is what it is. Pods was on after Sox won it
  8. Sounds like Montero got drunk and was critical of Maddon on the radio today.
  9. Terrible game by Bulls. Rondo might shoot 30 pct from the field this year in this offense
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 08:04 PM) The thing is that Anderson and Morneau both produced beyond expectations and they weren't even close to the Indians without 3 of their Top 7-8 players. 1. Lindor 2. Kluber 3. Brantley 4. Miller 5. Kipnis 6. Salazar 7. Allen 8. Carrasco 9. Carlos Santana 10. Jose Ramirez Morneau was mediocre
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 07:39 PM) I'd hear stuff out but you're going to have to pay me Sale prices (with a cap S deliberately) to get Eaton away. Eaton to the Cardinals makes a ton of sense if Sox rebuild
  12. Bowden was wrong an awful lot last offseason iirc
  13. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 07:27 PM) He had an awful series. I tend to give him a break on some of the strange stuff he does in the regular season because he's earned that but his managing in the World Series was pretty inexcusable. As many of us have said, the managing by almost everyone was crazy bad this postseason. Too many teams playing differently than they did to get there
  14. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 06:20 PM) I just read this on another board. Dude is a Yankees fan: So true, some of the lead discussions on the ESPN shows yesterday dealt with Maddon getting bailed out. If they lost game 7, he was gonna be one of the biggest goats in Chicago sports history
  15. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 06:57 PM) Come on now... 2001 was the literal storybook ending. Game 7, bottom of the 9th, bases-loaded, game tied, 1 out facing the best closer in the game. This game 7 would've only been comparable had one of the Indians batters walked off Chapman in the 9th. The story-line of two teams that have been bad for a really long time just isn't as compelling. And I would also take team having miraculous comebacks representing a city that was just devastated by worst territorist attack in U.S. history is way more compelling than two incompetent franchises
  16. In terms of great games, the Aaron Boone walk off was significantly better as well (not a WS game I know)
  17. QUOTE (Reddy @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 05:53 PM) I could definitely be swayed on that if someone can find a better one given the context of this one, but I'll stand my ground on Game 7. This game 6 was sloppy as hell with bad managing, bad fielding and bad pitching. Only reason there was drama for two innings was a choke job by the Cubs. The Braves-Twins game featured one of the best pitching performances ever.
  18. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 05:46 PM) Eh.. I don't know about the greatest World Series ever. You can definitely argue game 7 for WS game though. Braves-Twins game was way better.
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 05:15 PM) Yeah that made no sense to me. Obviously using Chapman the night before was a terrible idea too. Wilbon said he received numerous texts from MLB players and managers asking wtf was Maddon doing
  20. QUOTE (Reddy @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 04:01 PM) ?? That's called bad luck. The heavens opening up randomly in the 10th f***ing inning of a TIED game 7 of the world series? Come the f*** on. That's the textbook definition. But it had no impact on the game. Just a pure random sidenote that is getting way too much attention. Kinda like the greatness of the Ross homer despite him costing them two runs with his defense and giving the Indians any hope at all
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 04:01 PM) This. It was inexplicable for Francona to stick with Shaw who obviously has nothing that night. He stuck with everyone too long the last two games.
  22. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 03:58 PM) The rain delay stuff is super weird to me. They had the meat of their order up against Shaw on his 2nd inning of work when he was struggling in his first inning, they were going to score no matter what. Anyone could have seen that coming. Divine intervention would be facing a team missing 3 of its best players
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 03:47 PM) f*** yes it is bias. You are on a damned White Sox message board. What do you expect? This is supposed to be the one place where we don't get subjected to the fellatio of the Cubs that is pervasive in the rest of the world right now. This is the crap that makes me hate all things Cubs. No, I don't have to like it, or even enjoy it. Get out of here with this BS. There are plenty of Cub fans who would love a White Sox fan to tell them how great they are now, go lecture them. I didn't know a 15 minute rain delay was divine intervention. And the Heyward speech being immortalized might be the dumbest sports story in history. I guess he didn't listen to his own speech when he struck out horribly with the bases loaded. I guess anything to make it seem like he's not one of the worst signings in sports history at this point
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 03:49 PM) This. And I am getting sick of people feeling like they need to rub our noses in it, for no good reason. Yep!
  25. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 3, 2016 -> 03:03 PM) That's great. Congrats, but we still don't like you. More of a shot at the media that forgot about 2005
