  1. QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 31, 2015 -> 09:37 PM) I agree. He really seems to want to stay in KC. However, if there offer is really low, he will come up with something. 1. He couldn't pass it up. 2. Sox are doing alot of good things. 3. Still close to his home in Neb. - Wife loves Chicago - Wants Hawk to call a home run of his - Glad to not face Sale anymore
  2. If the Sox do sign Gordon, it would be interesting to hear what the reasons are that he would say in his press conference.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 31, 2015 -> 09:32 PM) And specifically saying he wanted to play with the Cubs' young core and Maddon as opposed to a theoretically better deal in terms of total guaranteed dollars from the Cards. When he used proof of the Cardinals losing their core and listed Jon Jay and Tony Cruz, it made my BS radar go off
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 31, 2015 -> 09:13 PM) For the same reason every outfielder has seemingly come down in price by 25%...too much supply, and too many additional outfielders available simultaneously at discount on the trade market. How can he get that much based on his 2015 season? Especially from an AL team...? Which outfielder's price has come down 25%?
  5. QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 31, 2015 -> 08:17 PM) According to all media accounts, he was offered more money elsewhere. If this is true then there were others things that played into signing the contract with the cubs. Yes, substantially more money the first 3 years of the deal with an earlier opt-out than other clubs were offering.
  6. QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 31, 2015 -> 08:11 PM) Ask Jason Heyward. Despite what the Chicago media likes to report, his contract is hardly a discount. He'll make way more money in the long run with the Cubs contract structure.
  7. QUOTE (peavy44 @ Dec 31, 2015 -> 08:08 PM) What If gordon don't wanna come to the white sox and takes kc offer of 4 years 60 million. Then he likely was never going to come here no matter what.
  8. QUOTE (peavy44 @ Dec 31, 2015 -> 08:55 PM) If we don't get gordon Cespedes might sign with the tigers, giants, angels. And I guarantee every fan of those teams think the Sox will get Cespedes if they don't get Gordon
  9. Why in the world would Parra sign that deal? He's going to get something like 3/40, yet you project 1/8-10?
  10. Still seems like Sox are in great position to get one of the big 3. They're just about the only team mentioned being involved with all of them. I don't blame them for waiting for the best deal, especially if they like all 3 equally. More than anything, the fact it seems like they have 20 million willing to spend for next season is very exciting to me.
  11. QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Dec 30, 2015 -> 10:06 PM) I kinda feel like Gordon or Cespedes is the Boozer. Parra is definitely Boozer
  12. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Dec 30, 2015 -> 08:35 PM) So is the new era of the opt-out clause? Yep, and it sucks as a fan
  13. QUOTE (Tony @ Dec 30, 2015 -> 02:26 AM) Yeah, things are getting a little more interesting now, unless all this info is coming from the same person. What's with name change
  14. If they bring in Latos, Ventura has quite the challenge with a potentially difficult clubhouse
  15. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 10:10 PM) I still would love to add a SP to go with an OF. Like Latos?
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 08:30 PM) I believe he would come back as a starter, at least for now. But even if he didn't it gives the team another option. As of today, who is the teams SS if Saladino flops? Option 1- Sanchez Option 2- Anderson
  17. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 06:18 PM) Maybe this Cespedes/Gordon hoopla is just a big negotiating strategy for us to land Will Venable at a reasonable price. Venable and Blanton >Gordon or Cespedes
  18. QUOTE (Tony @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 07:01 PM) Yoenis Cespedes market taking shape. Source: CWS & BAL emerging as leaders for now. LAA & SFG also in the mix with TX monitoring situation. @JesseSanchezMLB Big news, as I'm pretty sure Sanchez is very connected to Cuban baseball player news
  19. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 07:03 PM) How crazy would it be if Hahn found some way to sign both Gordon and Cespedes? That would be so awesome. Just stop, it's not going to happen.
  20. By all accounts, Stroman was the pick if Hawkins was off the board
  21. Maybe my least favorite Raw ever. Just awful, and some of the worst acting I have ever seen
  22. Reds have very little to show for trading Chapman and Frazier
  23. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 28, 2015 -> 10:33 PM) Is it though? I think there are like 13 teams that could potentially make the playoffs. There are good teams but not really anyone that's a favorite. NL has 8 teams battling for 5 spots and 7 terrible teams. There are just no bad teams, IMO, in the AL. In the NL, half the teams aren't even trying.
  24. American League is absolutely loaded
  25. Joel Sherman ‏@Joelsherman1 21s21 seconds ago Ks per 9 IP among relievers last yr: 1. Chapman 15.74. 2. Miller 14.59. 3. Betances 14.04 #Yankees. Yep. NYY has top 3 now.
