QUOTE (Dizzy Sox @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 01:07 AM)
I'm sure glad we drafted Hawkins over Gallo. Maybe that's not entirely fair but...man.
I'm sure the Sox would have done a great job developing him
QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 12:38 AM)
Did Shark used to have better stuff? His stuff looks really pedestrian since he's been with us.
Always thought his splitter was better in the past
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 01:28 AM)
Whoever said that?
To the naked eye, the pitchers have not been ready to start games this year. No excuse for giving up the most first inning runs with the starting rotation the Sox have.
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 01:27 AM)
Can Avi be any more shaky in this inning what is his issue?
A designated hitter who's forced to play the outfield for next two years. It won't be pretty, just have to hope he doesn't hurt himself.
QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 01:25 AM)
Why must we suck every first inning?
Why must we play like we do?
Why must we not field well?
Why must we not be patient at the plate?
I hate this team.
Yet it's no one's fault
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 01:25 AM)
I'm really getting sick and tired of Shark and Sale throwing 89-91 in the first inning and getting shelled.
Couldn't agree more, Samardzija just hasn't been ready in the first.
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 1, 2015 -> 05:24 PM)
The Brewers and Marlins had a combined .365 winning percentage when they fired their managers. Their new managers have a combined .359 winning percentage.
The starter for the Marlins tonight (Urena) is absolutely horrible. Sucks the Cubs basically get a free win going up against him. Miami's inability to keep their starting pitching healthy has killed them the last 5 years or so.
There's not been a single hint of the Sox going underslot with their first pick. Kiley McDaniel and Keith Law are probably the two best in terms of having inside information on draft strategy, and they've been suggesting nothing but collegiate starting pitching.
The concern I have about going severely underslot with the first pick is that they'd have to wait something like 104 picks for their next selection. All it takes is a few other teams doing this same strategy, and the Sox could miss out on some guys they wanted. I'd much rather just go after the BPA with first pick.
QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 1, 2015 -> 10:07 PM)
Who knows how he will respond when he is actually part of a rotation but he easily held velocity into his 4th inning of work today which was good to see.
And probably guaranteed he's long gone by 8
Considering Houston's ability to hit the ball out of the park, this was a masterful outing by Danks. It's also great that he was able to give everyone in the pen 2 full days off.
QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 30, 2015 -> 10:37 PM)
In the annals of Ventura clownsmanship, bringing in a situational lefty to face the 2 RH Astros power hitters may just lead the pack.
Hasn't he been good vs righties
