Nathan to the DL for Detroit

QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 09:59 PM) Therein lies the problem. So they sign Bonifacio for 3.5-4 million to give his principal role to a player who is less effective at that role. I am not overreacting to this one lineup card as I have been grousing about this sign Beckham has been signed. Basically, the Sox sign Beckham to a role that could have been better served by players already in the organization to take the platoon spot of a player who the team values twice as much. Problem is with how awful Bonifacio looked defensively during ST, I'm sure it just played into their decision even more to give Beckham more time on the infield instead of him.

QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 09:51 PM) They see Bonafacio as a 4th outfielder that can play infield if necessity. And be the Sox version of Dyson off the bench late in games?

QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 08:50 PM) Who starts more at 3B this year Beckham or Bonifacio because it sure seems like it's Beckham and that's stupid. Easily Beckham

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 08:21 PM) It's been a thing in the past where you give everyone a start the first series just to get their feet wet at the beginning of the season. I'm sure Soto and Bonifacio will start tomorrow, and then they'll play the regulars at home, until Milone starts--then probably more Bexx. I'm sure balta is having awful flashbacks of seeing Mackowiak in CF in the 2nd game of 2006.

Arrieta is really fricking good. Amazing how much crisper his stuff/command is since leaving Baltimore.

QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 09:09 PM) I have to say. I am really pissed at this lineup tonight. Is there no factoring in of timing and consistency to allow young guys like Johnson and Gillaspie to stay in rhythm? Conor was one of the only dangerous looking hitters in the first game. Conor can't hit LHP and Duffy dominated lefties last year. I'm fine with Beckham or Bonifacio playing over him today.
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 09:06 PM) Yes this is me overreacting but if Bonifacio isn't going to be playing against lefties then what a useless signing. Would have rather kept Viciedo and let him play vs LHP

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 08:03 PM) And here it is! Yikes, not a lot of offense there

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 07:55 PM) #WhiteSox lineup for 4/8: Eaton 8, Cabrera 7, Abreu 3, A. Garcia 9, Ramirez 6, LaRoche DH, Beckham 5, Flowers 2, Sanchez 4. Quintana 1. https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/585893493891080193 This doesn't seem like an especially strong lineup. I'm confused as to what Bonifacio's role on the team is going to be. With Duffy being incredible against lefties, it seems like LaRoche is going to have a hard time being productive.

flavum's calling card on this site is stating things in terms of numbers (games needed to win, etc). I'm a big fan of his, as he brings the big picture aspect to things.

QUOTE (JoshPR @ Apr 7, 2015 -> 08:17 PM) Thank you! I remember The sizemore homer Erstad homered early in that game against CC and Hawk acted like the Sox won the WS -
Ryan sure attacking the refs with his comments

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Apr 7, 2015 -> 04:34 AM) Just about killed any enjoyment left with college basketball. Winslow standing on the line, Winslow plows over defender, Winslow tips ball out of bounds. Just disgusting when only one team has a chance. Been saying it all year, the college refs were awful. Quite a fitting end to the season.
-
Why foul Tyus? Never see UW play so dumb. K has destroyed Bo Ryan
-
Well, refs continue to be a joke this season
-
WTF is Wisconsin doing? Their defense has been awful last ten minutes

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 7, 2015 -> 12:07 AM) Take this series and get home. Win one and I'm happy (with Danks lurking in game 3 of this series).

QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 7, 2015 -> 12:03 AM) I'm fine watching them get beat playing well, but this is pretty pathetic. They don't look ready at all. Outscored 20-3 in last 2 games

QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Apr 6, 2015 -> 11:57 PM) After this blowout and a day off, i am expecting the offense to expldode on Wednesday. the "INNER" coffee has to be percolating, and after a day off from this embarassment, there will be adenalin to murder KC on wednesday. My prediction 8+ to 2 And Beckham will be playing!!
-
KC's not a powerhouse, but they are a tough team to consistently beat due to their defense and bullpen. They have just as good of a chance as anyone else in the AL Central (besides Twins) to win the division.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 6, 2015 -> 10:46 PM) Bring back Ozzie!!!! We need FIRE!!!!!! Didn't know Gardenhire changed his name to Ozzie

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 6, 2015 -> 10:33 PM) go get them tmr. This looks very, very familiar however. Defense still sucks, back of the pen still sucks worse. Again, so much seems to have carried over from ST.

Haha, Drabek has no business being on an MLB roster.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 6, 2015 -> 10:32 PM) Not a great opening day showing. At the end of the day, with the way the contracts are structured on this team, I want to see a lot of growth and hopefully they can catch some breaks and get into the playoffs. This isn't the Bulls where the window is closing. This team has a lot of potential, is relatively young and had a solid foundation. Agreed, development is the biggest focus I have for the team this year. If this team wins 70 games again though, it's going to be horrible from a PR and ticket aspect. Hoping for 82-83 wins, even though I think I predicted 77.
