  1. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 18, 2014 -> 09:30 PM) There was no "pre planned" DL trip. The Sox had no handle on the injury at all. Now Jose needs an MRI. In Rock's world I'm sure they planned the MRI as well, like 2 weeks ago. It's ludicrous. Rock has provided GREAT information to this board over the years. When he states he's heard something, it's true.
  2. Nieto with 3 great at bats!
  3. After throwing a lot of pitches yesterday, Webb's back in?? Yuck
  4. Davidson strikes out bunting...ha Trayce 0-2 with 2K....hard to consider him a prospect now, as he's having a horrible season.
  5. Danks with 3rd worst ERA in all of baseball now. Noesi would be the worst if he qualified.
  6. Wow, doesn't get much worse than this start by Danks.
  7. Danks has never had great command. Even when he had good stuff, he was effectively wild in my opinion. Now, his stuff isn't good enough to get people to swing and miss his high fastball, etc. Unless he all of a sudden gets pinpoint control, it's hard to see him turning his career around.
  8. QUOTE (sammy esposito @ May 18, 2014 -> 07:21 PM) Every time we hear of a player going for tests it usually the player's condition ends up worse that they thought initially. If this were in October he would have plenty of time to heal. I have the feeling that 15 days is not enough . also thinking that if he comes back too quickly his problem will reoccur. He's getting an MRI tomorrow it sounds like, so hopefully everything is ok. If they have to do an MRI to rule out a more severe diagnosis, then it makes it even more puzzling they let him play for the last week.
  9. Abreu undergoing an MRI to rule out any serious ankle injury. Kinda shocking they didn't do this a week ago given how he could hardly run.
  10. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ May 18, 2014 -> 08:21 PM) This whole staff is worrisome if Sale goes down with TJS. If he goes down with TJS, kiss rebuilding goodbye given how bad the pitching in the farm system is.
  11. No Abreu and Avi has really decreased the excitement of watching this team. It seems like 2013 all over again now.
  12. Wow, nice at bats by Dunn/PK...not
  13. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ May 18, 2014 -> 08:16 PM) Those people are nuts +10000000
  14. Hahn has an incredibly tough job of fixing this rotation the next few years. It's Sale, Quintana and then a ton of mediocrity. It's possible the rebuild takes a year longer than they thought due to all the flops in the pitching staff this year.
  15. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 18, 2014 -> 08:09 PM) Glad we are on the hook for a BP pitcher, at double digit millions per season. Worst contract in Sox history given the results during the contract extension?
  16. Wow, meatball after meatball. Whatever Cooper's trying to do with these guys this year, it's not working.
  17. Just can't get the big hit the last two games. I wonder the last time the Sox had a #3 hitter on May 18th with no homers?
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 18, 2014 -> 07:57 PM) The Braves announcers are saying he's still not comfortable with all his pitches, particularly right now he almost never wants to use his changeup because he hasn't gotten that pitch back yet. Probably good for Gavin, as his change-up sucked
  19. Of course...pulling off like crazy there
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 18, 2014 -> 06:53 PM) And just got bitten for a 3 run double. Considering his velocity and quick recovery time, it makes you wonder if the new method they used on his TJ surgery will become the standard.
  21. Another 2 run HR off of Danish...disappointing, but not shocking
  22. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 18, 2014 -> 06:46 PM) Would Texas take Danks back with all of their pitching injuries? Not a chance
  23. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ May 18, 2014 -> 06:44 PM) Wow. What a s***ty display of baseball. 95 losses, here we come. Between injuries and probable trade deadline moves, it's very possible this roster ends up worse than last year's.
  24. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ May 18, 2014 -> 06:43 PM) I'd rather have someone else. f*** De Aza. Ventura blasts his base running, and of course, he's playing today. Sierra makes a great defensive play yesterday....and he's out today.
