Really nice managing by Ventura here

Pretty mediocre start by Q

How is that swing by Sanchez ever going to work? Looks like he's hitting fungos on purpose. If you want to talk about people who should be under fire, Buddy Bell is awful at his job.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 01:22 AM) How come Steverson takes no heat here? It is a total change from anemic offense blames in the past. Pretty sure people have given up on changes to the coaches right now.

4 singles in 13 innings

Awful play by Melky. This team is so incredibly dumb. How can Hahn continue to watch this season go down the drain?

Lengthy scoreless streak for this explosive offense

DJ going off on Eaton again. I'm beginning to wonder if the Sox are sick of his antics and might look to unload him.

How is Sanchez still in the majors. He's a worse hitter than Leury

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 12:24 AM) Wtf has Eaton done? Base running

QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 11:20 PM) Of course they didn't score there...of course. Cleanup hitter on 6-16 has one homer

Farmer and DJ trashing Eaton already. They hate this team.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 09:46 PM) Jurassic World was awesome. Everything I was looking for. Yep, thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved the inclusion of the new dinos

I have a hard time picturing Abreu making the throw from 3rd to 1st with his swollen finger.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 08:17 PM) I wonder if that information doesn't get leaked last year, if no one ever knows the hack even happened. I would say no chance

Listened to Bernstein and the Score legal expert. Can't believe people are actually pushing for a postseason ban for the Cardinals.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 05:55 PM) If that's the case then they're not "underachieving", they're a terrifically poorly assembled team and a gigantic waste of money and development time. This is looking very possible, and again I love your point about how their lack of patience set them back in a big way. I think some of the players have significantly regressed, but they're still underachieving (for example, Alexei not only has lost bat speed and range, but he's making stupid defensive plays as well).

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 06:50 PM) Just to point out again...this massive of a failure does not happen randomly over an entire MLB season. If that's the case (and I'm not sure it is), then there is a systematic problem with something other than the talent on the field. That could be leadership, that could be preparation, that could be something else...but that does not happen to an entire roster by chance. It could if the talent level is mediocre due to age and/or regression. There are legitimately 5 players on the team right now that could easily be DFA'd/demoted based on their performance (Danks, Noesi, Bonifacio, Flowers, Sanchez).

You could have Derek Jeter leading this team with the greatest manager of all time (Bobby Heenan), and they still would suck. When probably 80-90% of your roster is underachieving, you're not going to win a lot of games.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 04:44 PM) Everything keeps turning up Cubs Watch the Cards get a playoff ban

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 09:40 PM) Lance Lynn to the DL for the Cardinals. They've now lost Wainwright and Adams for the season, and they have Holliday, Lynn and Walden out for an extended period of time. Hamels and Howard continues to make a lot of sense for them. And Rosenthal out with arm tightness now

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 03:00 AM) It is not working no matter how much smoke the Sox management try to blow up our ass. Tonight's lineup had no chance of scoring more than a run or two. Just too many holes right now with a lack of talent in AAA to fill all the gaps.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 01:57 AM) Cubs calling up Schwarber Quite the year for their fans so far.

Easily worst game of the season. Trifecta of bad pitching, defense and hitting. Changes need to be made with this roster.

Watching highlights from early in the game, it still pisses me off how many fastballs Rodon threw. The Pirates swung and missed a ton of offspeed pitches yesterday vs Hamels. Not sure why the game plan was so reliant on fastballs early in the count.
