  1. Why in the world is Ventura letting ADA face a LHP in the 8th inning?
  2. In 8 of their last 12 games, the Sox have scored 1 run or less against the starting pitcher.
  3. QUOTE (flavum @ May 14, 2014 -> 10:36 PM) Corpseball. Hopefully Houston is what this team needs. Unfortunately, Ventura's rant can't wake up the bats of mediocre players.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ May 14, 2014 -> 09:28 PM) Good stuff by Rienzo today. One bomb and one wind blown homer. Too bad he'll probably take the L. No reason he can't be a 5th starter. I have more confidence in him being a MLB starter than Johnson.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ May 14, 2014 -> 10:18 PM) We've trucked out lineups with Simien, Sierra, and Leury, sprinkled with De Aza. Lots of outs. As the reality of the season starts to come more into focus, it hurts even more that Avi is out for the year and can't develop. I guess the struggles of this offense shouldn't be surprising, as it's basically the same cast of characters from last year besides Abreu.
  6. I liked it better when this offense was good. Outside of the 9th inning on Monday, this has been one of the more boring 3 game series I can ever recall.
  7. QUOTE (flavum @ May 14, 2014 -> 10:01 PM) Nothing good ever happens there. Even when they win, it's weird and gross. Questionable send there with Beckham out by 10 feet.
  8. This offense continues to struggle scoring, especially without homering.
  9. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 14, 2014 -> 09:36 PM) With all the rest Sale is getting . I'm pretty convinced Hahn doesnt think we can win anything this year and is being super cautious with Sale because of it. If that's the case Abreu deserves the same consideration. Maybe Hahn keeps his nose out of the dugout or doesnt tell his manager who to play and how often. I couldn't agree more. It's also why I hope they're safe with Webb and Petricka. To me, Webb has no business pitching multiple innings.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 14, 2014 -> 09:26 PM) Not nearly enough. I'd place a decent wager he will do a 15 day stint this season. What exactly is wrong with his ankle?
  11. QUOTE (Dunt @ May 14, 2014 -> 08:03 PM) Ya, may as well let him struggle through some games and never really let it get better. It worked well for Nate Jones and Paulino
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 14, 2014 -> 08:45 PM) If Beckham didn't have the wrist injury which zapped his power last year, he would have put up some numbers that shut people up. He hit a lot of warning track homers and still was well over .300 with about a month and a half to go in the season until his quad got real bad. It boggles my mind how many just want him to fail. Anything good he does it minimized. Any mistake or out he makes, blown out of proportion. Totally agree with you here. He has way more power this year than last year. I'm rooting for him to do well.
  13. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 14, 2014 -> 08:41 PM) Abreu just seems out of it They had planned to give him today off I thought. He's still productive, but his K rate is getting scary.
  14. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ May 14, 2014 -> 04:49 AM) Yet some already want him replacing Ramirez. He's a 2B all the way for me. Problem is so is Micah Johnson, which makes me think Semien ends up being a utility player or trade bait.
  15. One of the worst games in a long time for the Sox. Nothing positive has come from this game.
  16. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ May 14, 2014 -> 05:45 AM) He's beginning to look like a young Gordon Beckham. Beckham has never come close to striking out at the rate Semien has. I really don't know where this liability came from with Semien. Maybe the AFL was a warning he wasn't ready yet?
  17. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 14, 2014 -> 05:42 AM) Marcus Semien 0-for-his-last-24. Stay tuned for season 2 of the Jeff Keppinger experience... Semien had a hit on Saturday. With that said, he's had his chances and has done nothing to earn staying in the majors.
  18. Golden sombrero for Semien...thankfully he's been clutch this year to make up for his disappointing season.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 14, 2014 -> 04:22 AM) Was this Sierra guy DFA by somebody? Yes, Toronto after he had the worst April (in terms of OPS) in franchise history
  20. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 14, 2014 -> 05:13 AM) This is just bad bad baseball. Think about it, you have playing tonight: - two pitchers in Carroll and Francisco that belong in the minors - leadoff hitter in Semien that should be in AAA - Konerko who probably should be retired - Sierra should be in the minors - Garcia should be 25th man, at best, on a roster Given the injuries to 4 of the main Sox performers (Sale, Avi, Jones, Eaton), this is a roster that would lose 100 games.
  21. Designated Francisco Assignment
  22. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 14, 2014 -> 04:11 AM) I heard that between that and GB, Hawk has lost his mind. - Micah Johnson is the fastest player in all of baseball (um, not even close to Billy Hamilton) - Sox have the best young talent in the majors
  23. Leury with a great catch out there!
