  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 8, 2013 -> 02:53 AM) Honestly, opening day 2015, I don't want any of this starting 9 there. Been saying this for a while. Beckham and possibly Viciedo might be the only ones that I could see still being a starter.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 8, 2013 -> 02:57 AM) JUst a horrible horrible team. yep, really sucks Peavy got hurt, as it will do this franchise no good having him on the roster this year and next.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 8, 2013 -> 02:54 AM) Fastball right down the heart of the plate. Whiff Viciedo. How bout not swing quite as hard and you know, make contact?? Horrible at bat. That ball was right down the middle. Viciedo should be trade bait, as there are huge red flags about him never being anything more than a platoon player. This coaching staff is a total disgrace.
  4. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 09:33 PM) My alma mater Vandy is the #2 national seed (finished #1 in BA rankings) and will face Louisville in the super. I was able to watch probably 60% of their games this year thanks to cbssports college subscription online. Tons of top arms on the staff in Ziomek (probable 2nd rounder) and Beede (former 1st rounder) paired with just nasty fresh/soph combo in the pen of Carson Fullmer/Brian miller. Pitching depth is crazy good too. Back to back top recruiting classes have made us a powerhouse. Lineup is well balanced with just about everyone hitting near .300 with obps in high .300s to .400s. If there's one weakness it's the lack of true top power bats For those who want to watch amongst the most exciting players in the game watch our lead off hitter tony kemp. He's 5'7" but was SEC player of year and hit .400. One of those classic college players who puts pressure on the defense all game. I thought that Frosh pitcher Buehler looked like a future first round pick as well.
  5. Opposite field grand slam for Puig. Also, another horrible umpire call, this time in Colorado.
  6. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 04:00 AM) More often than not, money talks. I'd be shocked if he doesn't sign. Yep, hard to picture him going too much higher after 3 years in college given his mechanics.
  7. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 04:47 AM) I've gotta say, if I'm drafting I'm trying to maximize my chances at getting an MVP/Cy Young with every single pitch until fairly late in the top 10 rounds. Agree completely
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 03:44 AM) Hope the Spurs really go for their nuts in game 2. Far too often the road team is content with getting 1 of the first 2 games. Hopefully they don't rest 3 starters
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 04:36 AM) The kid looks to be the true definition of low floor, high ceiling Absolutely
  10. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 04:20 AM) Dat arm slot. I'm okay with this pick Yep, I'm a fan
  11. Oh man, Danish had some crazy stats
  12. It really is amazing that Dunn is only player to homer in last 14 games. There's probably been 5 or 6 pitchers to homer during that time.
  13. I'm predicting either Buck Farmer or Tom Windle for the Sox here
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 04:08 AM) 7 games back again. One game away from starting to think about tearing the team apart and looking more towards 2014. You're kidding yourself if you think this roster is contending this season
  15. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 03:07 AM) Yes, why play for the tie when you played 16 innings yesterday? Not bright. This entire coaching staff took stupid pills this offseason
  16. Wow Hawk, you're just freaking awful
  17. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 03:00 AM) Please no bunting this time. Playing for the tie with a tired bullpen...Sox really have turned into an NL team
  18. I feel so dumb, I thought it was only one round tonight!
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 02:49 AM) I know, but we're so close in games behind the Tigers it makes you dream. Down 6.5 with a run differential +/- between the teams of 110. We're not that close, and that's not taking into account Peavy being injured. It's hard to imagine this starting rotation pitching well enough to keep the Sox in the hunt.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 02:46 AM) This is gonna be a tough loss after yesterday's rare win. f***. If ever the Sox had a rally, it needs to come tonight. Another loss will be very very depressing. The Sox have a fluke win yesterday to avoid a 9 game losing streak and that gets your hopes up? It's still the same crappy team.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 02:43 AM) According to pitch tracks Flower didn't see a strike that whole AB, but got three called against him. Ump got fooled by Blevins' delivery it seems
  22. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 03:40 AM) How come Gillaspie didn't get the sac bunt down? Cause he's a White Sox player
  23. Swing the bat Flowers...might be inside, but you have to adjust to the umpire.
  24. Thanks for bringing in a LHP to face Viciedo
