  1. How about them Braves? 3 homers off of Herrera in the 8th.
  2. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 01:14 AM) Not arguing. Who hits second? I'd go with this lineup right now: De Aza Gillaspie Rios Konerko Dunn Ramirez Viciedo Keppinger Alomar Jr.
  3. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 01:11 AM) why would you pitch to rios with done coming up? He tried to walk him, but Rios refused to be walked.
  4. At what point do you movie Keppinger down in the order?
  5. Delabar looked unhittable at times against the Sox last year.
  6. Here comes Santiago to hopefully not make many of us look foolish.
  7. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 01:59 AM) Hector has a nice cut, just never gets hits Doesn't have the bat speed to get around on these pitches. I actually thought he hit that one farther.
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 12:51 AM) So...will we mention that Robin has made two straight good decisions - letting Axe finish the inning, unleashing PK on 3-0? We praised him all last year to the point we expect it now, but yes, the 3-0 green light is great
  9. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 12:48 AM) Our team has been horrendous at working walks. 0% for Kep and Viciedo is crazy at this point; I know neither are prolifically patient, but they do take walks. 4% rate from Dunn? That's asinine. It's fascinating to a point.
  10. PK! Great swing on the 3-0
  11. Keppinger and Viciedo combining for 0 walks in 100 at bats...that's impressive
  12. Axelrod has pitched well, but giving up 2 homers on 1-2 pitches is frustrating.
  13. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 12:59 AM) Do you mind posting it fathom? Very interested in the numbers. Don't have numbers in front of me, but Gimenez caught Quintana's gem and also caught Axelrod's first start vs Seattle that was good.
  14. I'd be willing to bet that Angels fans were hoping Abreu would suck last year so Trout could get promoted
  15. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 12:57 AM) How come the pitches being called, seem like they actually make sense so far, for Axelrod? Totally different, and he is keeping the pitch count down too, to boot. Check out Gimenez catching ERA compared to Flowers.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 12:56 AM) Even if his ceiling is fifth starter in baseball, that has some value in this day and age. Of course he'll probably pitch well tonight I get what you're saying with this comment, but I just feel in my opinion there's more value this year in seeing what Santiago can do as a starter and getting him innings so he's not too limited next year when he's much more likely to be in the rotation.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 12:51 AM) You are right, it is no different. Active rooting for failure is amongst the dumbest things to be hoping for in sports, no matter what sport it is. We aren't even talking about tanking in September for a draft pick or something. We are talking about having a prospect fail, so another prospect can step in? Quit watching. Seriously, just find another hobby. You might be the first person to ever refer to Axelrod as a prospect
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 12:47 AM) Still. It makes zero sense to be rooting for someone to fail in April. In all seriousness, if people really believe crap like that, they need to quit watching baseball. Just walk away, because you are missing the entire point. This is no different than Bulls fans wanting Rip Hamilton to play poorly so Jimmy Butler can get more minutes at the shooting guard to see if he can develop into a starting shooting guard in the future. To me, Axelrod is blocking the development of a much more talented performer. I've not seen one person say they want to lose and Axelrod pitch badly.
  19. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 12:47 AM) That De Aza at bat.... Striking out at an alarming rate
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 12:44 AM) Versus having a guy actually be successful? That is just an astounding want. You want your own team to fail? Really? I don't consider Axelrod anything close to being a future part of this organization. With Santiago, if this year is going to be about getting people like Viciedo and Flowers experience, then I think getting him innings under his belt is extremely important.

Hawkins moved down in the order...wonder if they'll demote him if this keeps up.
  22. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 12:42 AM) That was a terrible pitch What do you know, the starting pitcher gives a run right back.
  23. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 12:37 AM) Its not good that we have a black hole at catcher. I asked this last week, but it's intriguing to wonder who could be the starting catcher next year. Seems like it will be someone outside the organization.
