  1. No chance that PK hits a double like that a month ago
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 21, 2012 -> 03:40 AM) Possibly true. What I've basically noticed is most of the second guessers on here pretty much want 5-7 pitchers used every game. At the start of trouble they want the starter pulled, normally by the fifth inning, certainly by 5 1/3 innings. Then after that it's a clusterfrick of criticisms mostly regarding matchups. The second guessers pretty much want 5-6 pitchers a night. I'll totally agree a lot of us (definitely myself included) are guilty of this. However, when Veal was warmed and ready to go, that's when it's frustrating that he wasn't used to face Cano.
  3. Youk refuses to walk now. His eye at the plate seems way off.
  4. Wasn't pretty, but it was effective!!
  5. Big inning here for Thornton and his confidence, it would seem. I have a feeling we'll see Reed pitch in the 8th tonight as well.
  6. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Aug 21, 2012 -> 03:25 AM) Farmio may have soiled himself on that HR Funny, as Hawk seemed to hesitate for a second
  7. ALEXEI! Hell of an at bat. And yes, Girardi should be blasted for keeping the LOOGY in there
  8. More first pitch outs...crazy
  9. PK and Rios, you don't need to take weak 0-0 swings against their loogy. You have to hope Rios isn't taking his struggles at the plate to the field, and vice versa.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 21, 2012 -> 04:15 AM) You act like you know more than Robin Ventura and Cooper. A lot of you act this way. Let me tell you something: You do not know more than them. It's up to the pitchers to do the job. Some of these guys shouldn't be in the big leagues to begin with. Robin is working with what he's got. Sometimes it's simpler than that. When your long reliever has set a career high total for pitches and gives up a homer and then walks someone, you bring in your LOOGY to face their best lefty (especially when that long reliever is awful against lefties).
  11. Whew, right at Tank thankfully. Going to be Thornton in the 8th.
  12. What is going on with the defense? Rios misplayed that badly.
  13. Veal did his job getting all the lefties out easily.
  14. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 21, 2012 -> 04:04 AM) Boone has pitched well this year. He's good
  15. Joba is terrible, he's hanging everything
  16. Wow, nice to see the opposite field power!
  17. Wow, 17 base runners in 6 innings for Yankees. Our pitching staff giving up over 2 runners per inning the last 4 games.
  18. Wow, the LOOGY strikes out both lefties easily.
  19. AJ's defense likely cost us two runs this inning.
  20. And that's what happens when you let the LOOGY face a righty. Also, might want to shake up the pitch selection AJ? This team is playing so stupid of late.
  21. QUOTE (Caesar @ Aug 21, 2012 -> 02:48 AM) He is terrible when it comes to making decisions regarding the pitching staff and bullpen. He has no idea what to do. Stone said Tex was a better right handed hitter twice, yet Ventura lets him bat righty. Stome was even confused. Ugh, I didn't know Tex was better against LHP
  22. Granderson had no chance against Veal there. Too bad he didn't get to face Cano.
