  1. Brutal AB by Alexei. I still am speechless about Dunn's base running before.
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 28, 2011 -> 01:26 AM) I have no idea whom Adam thought was going to catch that line single by JP. Bargnanni
  3. Nice hit by Juan. No double plays Alexei!
  4. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 28, 2011 -> 01:22 AM) Yay, bunting with a guy who can't bunt. I don't like this regardless of the outcome. And with Dunn on second base
  5. Why is Dallas higher on the depth chart than Morel? Ozzieball!
  6. Stop giving up so many hits Mark
  7. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 27, 2011 -> 11:11 PM) What about Matthew Grimes? Is he expected to do better than the 3rd RD or whatever we picked him in last year when he opted for college instead? He's not eligible for another two years, as he's at GT. I haven't heard too many positive reviews of him this season.
  8. I wonder just how far Rios has to fall before Ozzie considers benching him?
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 27, 2011 -> 06:16 PM) Now I know who he is, big kid, looks to have a nice shot as well. He defended Evan Turner quite well in the Tournament
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 27, 2011 -> 06:16 PM) Now I know who he is, big kid, looks to have a nice shot as well. He had great form on his shot, but always shot a low percentage due to Paul Hewitt's Clogged Toilet Offense. When he was open and didn't have to rush his shot, he was pretty pure. His biggest issue was turnovers, as he would get sloppy trying to do too much on offense.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 27, 2011 -> 06:10 PM) I for sure didnt, I watched the guy pitch several times and he looked like a mechanical piece of garbage. The guy that has pitched for us the last several starts looks like a totally different person. He also added a slider which has been a big piece of the puzzle. I think it was last year we faced Humber when he was on KC, and he shoved it down our throats the first few innings with some pretty sick offspeed stuff. I never thought he'd be close to this good though, especially after getting hit hard in Spring Training. You said it yesterday....he had nothing, yet he still dominated.
  12. Shumpert is a great, very personable kid. He was unfortunate enough to play for a terrible coach, but I was blown away by his improvement from last year to this year. Just ask UNC fans what they think of Iman Jordan. Like I said earlier, there's no doubt in my mind he can be an elite defender in the NBA. He destroyed James Anderson in the Tournament a few years ago.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 27, 2011 -> 07:08 PM) I dont know Shumpert very well but Darius Morris is no slouch. Morris has some character concerns. He was not a good influence in the Michigan locker room apparently. I watched a lot of Michigan play last year, and Morris is a very good passer but provided little in terms of scoring (with regards to translating to an NBA offense).
  14. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 27, 2011 -> 06:07 PM) That's a bad idea. Yes
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 27, 2011 -> 06:02 PM) What's the chance the Bulls take him, develop him as a PG and let Rose run more like a SG on offense? Because Shumpert obviously has the size to guard 2s. If the Bulls don't trade their picks, I'd be very surprised if he's not one of their two picks. They liked him last year, during this season, and that was before his impressive combine. The Lakers also like him, FWIW.
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 27, 2011 -> 05:59 PM) I just read the scouting report on the guy, he looks like a great fit for that 30th pick, assuming he's still available at that pick after his great combine numbers. He's easily the best defensive point guard in the draft.
  17. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 27, 2011 -> 05:51 PM) The Grizzlies didn't want to deal with the Bulls and the other option was Courtney Lee. And Asik is more valuable than him. There weren't many options unless you wanted Anthony Parker. I am beginning to think that Iman Shumpert will be drafted by the Bulls. He is blowing up right now so may not be there. Fathom where are you? Would he big a good fit w/ Rose? I like his size, length and athleticism. Yes, the Bulls love Shumpert and it was the main reason he declared for the draft. His combine numbers were as good as anyone's seen in a long time. He'd be a great fit as a defensive point guard off the bench. His shooting isn't very good, but he's a great passer and someone who will flourish under better coaching. I simply am stunned that more experts don't have him as a first round pick. If I had to pick between Shumpert or someone like Darius Morris, it would be an easy decision.
  18. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 27, 2011 -> 05:05 PM) E-Jax would be my vote...but why not keep the sixman then trade Danks or Jackson at the deadline, depending on our standings Well said...it's working quite well right now.
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 18, 2011 -> 04:47 PM) It all depends on when my wife gives birth. She's due June 2nd. First one?
  20. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ May 27, 2011 -> 05:39 PM) Did Peavy's velocity drop between his second and third starts? Maybe having him through 110 pitches in his second game back wasn't such a great idea Yes, about 3 mph. I don't think it was the 110 pitches, but maybe just the inconsistency that comes with rust.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 27, 2011 -> 04:21 PM) But are they really pitching innings they wouldn't already be even if we had a 5-man rotation? The problem seems to be Thornton to me, not how many starters we have in the rotation. It's tough when you only have two righty relievers that can be mildly trusted in a close game. There has to be some side-arm righty out there that can get righty hitters out.
  22. Humber is more important to this franchise in the present and in the future than Jackson or Buehrle. I'm fine with leaving the 6 man rotation together, but we need to help out the bullpen by finding someone to replace Pena. Crain and Santos are going to get burned out if not.
  23. I'd rather Dunn bat 2nd...at least you know he'd see a lot of pitches if someone was on first base.
  24. Dunn moved to 7th in the lineup.
  25. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 27, 2011 -> 04:34 AM) ESPN just sucking off Lebron and Company. As well they should after that amazing comeback. I'll just be avoiding ESPN the next 2 weeks...might be a good time to read the ESPN book instead.
