AJ put himself in a hole by taking fastballs over the plate. Just didn't seem prepared to hit there.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 28, 2011 -> 07:57 PM) Well I hope that would be your opinion, since you're the genius that proposed the wager. For the record, the Sox went on their incredible streak when shack and I started making mock bets before each series.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 28, 2011 -> 07:56 PM) Hmm, well...I guess we'll take that. Oh s***, now McPherson is in for PK if it stays tied...great. Hey J4L or balta, etc...isn't McPherson extremely slow?

QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 28, 2011 -> 07:54 PM) I'd rather have Dan Pasqua at 45+ years old than this DH albatross we're stuck with, for 3.5+ more years... There was a time when this board used to brag how we have no bad contracts on this team.

QUOTE (soxsider11 @ May 28, 2011 -> 07:53 PM) Dunn has had many oppurtunties to help his case in late close games and seems to strike out every one of them Yep, he's a "losing" player. I hate his performance this season.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 28, 2011 -> 07:51 PM) And when the Indians collapse, and we are within 2-3 games of first with 75 to play, I just wish you would take up knitting. He's going to be a famous haiku writer, you know that

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 28, 2011 -> 07:45 PM) Danks doesn't come with the injury concerns Marcum had. So you think we get more than Marcum did? That would be stunning to me, but not because I don't think Danks has more value than Marcum.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 28, 2011 -> 07:45 PM) Yeah, but most likely he's going to return much less than Danks would, even though I think the returns on the field would be very similar this season. Ironically, we need Bartolo and Garcia to get injured in order to make Danks more desired by the Yanks.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 28, 2011 -> 07:43 PM) No. I mean keep Edwin around for the remainder of the season. I still think we are going to be in this division for the long haul, so I'd like to keep one of them. Well yeah, you can't let both go.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 28, 2011 -> 07:41 PM) Jackson was fine, hes just the easiest whipping boy on the Sox staff. Bautista hit a 3 run hr off of him and he was a little off the first few innings. The fact is that if 5 ers is a terrible start, than no pitcher should be pitching in the AL because im not sure there is a pitcher who hasnt given up that many. He kept the Sox in a position to win, gave up a few weak hits (broken bats etc), but when he got a lead he held it. Got no problem with that outing. I'm not exactly happy with the outing, and his WHIP has been terrible this year for someone with his stuff.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 28, 2011 -> 07:40 PM) Who knows...but if it were me, given the potential returns, I would roll the dice on Edwin keep him around and trade Danks because we can actually get something for him. If neither are going to be around, shouldn't we trade the one that actually nets some kind of return? But you really think Boras and the Sox can work on an agreement to keep Jackson around? You know I'm with you in trading Danks.

The funny thing is that I trust Ohman more than the other lefties in our bullpen if we have to get one lefty batter out.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 28, 2011 -> 07:38 PM) He started off wild and ineffective, got it together as the outing went on. It wasn't a good start by any means, but he gave us a chance to win the game. You think we see him start another game? If he does, it's simply to showcase him for a trade.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 28, 2011 -> 07:37 PM) Was it bad luck today? I see his K/BB ratio was rather good. He found his groove later in the game, but he couldn't control Patterson and he made a simply awful 0-2 pitch to Hill.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 28, 2011 -> 07:36 PM) You mean an outfielder can sprint back towards a ball? Even though Davis didnt get it, Pierre should watch that replay and see how he sprints to the god damn wall and then tries to make a play. Its just insanity. Pierre's been doing that all year. He runs with his glove out, which is something you're taught not to do in Little League.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 28, 2011 -> 07:35 PM) I wouldn't be shocked if Ozzie just allows Omar to do whatever the hell he wants out there. I agree

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 28, 2011 -> 07:33 PM) I guess you have to be more careful with your money when you blow $5 million for one month on a washed up, injury prone, juicer. A headcase that quit on three organizations. Dick Allen so called that s***. And when you waste 8 million dollars on Edwin Jackson.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 28, 2011 -> 07:30 PM) This. That was absolutely ludicrous coaching decision. For anyone that questions how influential a manager can be on the outcome of a game, Ozzie's proving how detrimental he can be this week.
