Thomas "had a lot of teammates involved" in steroids
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 06:49 PM) So what are you saying about Phil Humber? Except that Humber's velocity hasn't magically shot up, and he was a big prospect prior to the surgery anyways.

Thomas "had a lot of teammates involved" in steroids
QUOTE (qwerty @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 03:33 PM) Clearly randy williams was enhanced during his tenure with the white sox big league club. How else could one put up numbers that big like his 2010? Riddle me this. Wouldn't shock me if random players (not singling out Randy) you wouldn't at first consider were juicing actually were, as career minor leaguers who all of a sudden found power in the minor leagues or increased their velocity a few mph were some of the more obvious PEDS abusers.

Official 2011-2012 NCAA Football Thread
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 03:46 PM) This is completely true, and kind of sad. Academic fraud is even more widespread than illegal financial benefits in my opinion, yet people seem to find it far worse if a poor kid on scholarship gets some extra money for food than for a kid to cheat in order to pass classes. And we're not just talking about getting extra help from tutors or looking over your neighbor's shoulder for an answer to a test question. I'm talking about having someone else take your exam or literally getting credit for attending a class that you didn't show up to at all.

Saw a huge jet flying towards the airport yesterday. If anyone can find out where they met, I'd like to know. Probably at Pheasant Run.

I truly think most people would be stunned at how athletes on a college campus behave, and the illegal stuff they get away with. I'm not even talking about improper financial benefits. Academic fraud is even a bigger issue, in my opinion.

Konerko would have been an absolute monster if he played his home games at Fenway.

If Crawford reaches, you have to bring in a righty to face Lowrie.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 07:52 PM) So people are seriously complaining about a hitter taking a walk to load the bases with only 1 out in an inning? Dunn has been beyond awful this year but complaining about him taking a walk in that situation is absurd. I don't get it either

Should be an all hands on deck relief effort today.

This should be Rios hitting for Dunn

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 07:26 PM) Any chance Rios and Pierre just decide to retire mid-season? Rios should be put on the DL due to his toe. As for Pierre, he'll continue to suck the life out of this offense for another 100 games.

There is nothing flukish about Lillibridge's hitting. He's short with his swing this season, as he looks to be adopting Rowand's former swing.

I dream of the day that Viciedo is in LF and Lillibridge is in CF (oh, and we have someone with power at 3b...I'm sick of getting absolutely no power from that position)

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 06:42 PM) This is so troubling in so many different ways I can't even begin to talk about it. I don't know if there is any explanation do you? Does anyone? That he's hit the wall with regards to bat speed, and his numbers the last few months last year were a telling sign?

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 06:39 PM) Historically he's a worse hitter with runners on. Why? Because quite frankly in high leverage situations he's just not very good (cause he has a majorly flawed swing and he's going to struggle even more when pitcher X is more focused due to the situation, e.g., runners on). Dunn is the definition of a mistake hitter. Dude has made his career hitting jacks in low leverage situations against mediocre pitching. Put him up against good pitching and he'll get PWNED (as do many players, but he'll get PWNED more due to the huge flaw in his game). I remember for years you hated him. I thought he'd put up big numbers here but infuriate us with his inability to get clutch hits. I remember when we faced him on the Nationals, I liked him up with Thornton on the mound in a clutch situation cause he was such an easy out.

Omar's in a huge funk. Morel seems like he could have a good chance to hit the knuckler, but Omar's had a lot of success against Wakefield.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 06:34 PM) How blind is management that they won't give him more opportunities? He's definitely a 20-20 caliber player with what he's showing this season. I'm actually optimistic when he's up, which is a far cry from the feeling of doom with Rios and Dunn.
