  1. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 08:32 PM) 14 K's in 33 at-bats you pegged it other day when you pointed out it seems he can hit when the situation dictates nothing he can do can do any real damage. If you're talking about the Felix thread, I was being sarcastic. However, he's notorious for being a bad situational hitter.
  2. This would be a good inning to get Thornton some action instead of making Crain unavailable for tomorrow.
  3. Well, Dunn's honeymoon lasted 3 weeks. Fans booing him after another strikeout.
  4. QUOTE (DukeofChicago88 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 08:25 PM) No one here thinks Crain could handle being a closer? I think he's shown he can handle pressure situations. He has a much better make-up for it than Thornton does.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 07:52 PM) This is your definition of getting hammered? We're going on an 11 game in 11 day road trip following this one, we don't have an offday in about 3 weeks, and Ozzie's an idiot for not going to his bullpen. RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT. Well, it's just proving he was lying out of his ass on Monday night about the plans they designed for him coming into the season.
  6. Scioscia just shoved it up Ozzie's ass with those pitching changes.
  7. Haha, so Buehrle starts the 7th inning when he's getting hammered at 90 pitches? Ozzie's such an idiot.
  8. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 07:46 PM) I'm almost happy that i haven't been able to watch any of these games. It really seems like i'm not missing much. This series has been disgusting. Bad execution, bad defense, bad at bats, bad pitching, bad managing.
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 07:39 PM) It is like watching the same movie over and over again. I am sure the fire Greg Walker talk will start 2 minutes after this game is over. This slump has nothing to do with Walker. Slumping against some of the best pitchers in the world is excusable. It's the bullpen/Ozzie's fault we didn't have more of a cushion to be over .500 right now.
  10. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 07:38 PM) When the alternative is Buddy Bell, I hope this team starts winning to save Guillen's job. Buddy Bell's worked hard to get us the 29th ranked minor league system!
  11. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 07:33 PM) It's really time to stop expecting much of anything from Peavy, especially him being a top 3 starter. If you are relying on him long term you are going to be severely disappointed. Thank you...it's really sad what's happened to him.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 07:25 PM) You have to hold on to Ramirez, Beckham, Santos and Sale...and many would argue now's the time to trade Alexei if you rebuild. I still think that new contract's favorable enough that you could go into rebuilding with the middle infield set for the next half decade. That's a good starting point. Not that it would happen, but if those 4 are the ones you build around, that would be the worst team in baseball. Konerko's obviously not going anywhere, nor is Dunn for at least 2 years.
  13. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 07:12 PM) CQ is one of the first guys I would like to see traded. He has little value supposedly, so rather keep him and put him in LF.
  14. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 07:07 PM) MB is a nice guy but he is not worth anything close to what he is making or will be asking for it is time to move on in 2012! Don't worry, he won't be back
  15. Way to pull that outside slider/splitter Carlos
  16. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 07:06 PM) Weaver, Haren and Price in 4 games. Awesome. That's after getting Cahill and Anderson, and then we get Verlander and Scherzer in Detroit. One thing is for sure...Dunn needs to pick up some of the slack against these tough righties.
  17. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 07:04 PM) There you go. Trumbo. Well, Ozzie better pull Buehrle before 100 pitches.
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 06:53 PM) We've got Floyd, who's more like a #4 who occasionally pitches like a 1/2 but not consistently...who knows long-term with Peavy, and Sale. If Peavy and Sale can be top 3 level starters, we could be okay to fill in the back of the rotation. But what are the odds of that, of both things happening....and those guys staying healthy together for an extended period of time? Who are these #4/5 starters we're going to have? Not likely to be anyone from the system.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 06:48 PM) They should fire KW before they fire Ozzie. I do agree that KW is more responsible for putting the Sox in such a dire situation where they have to win this year or else. KW's going to be in a tough spot if this team falls 10 games out or so by the deadline, as there's gaping holes they're going to have to fill cheaply in the next few years (starting pitching).
  20. QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 06:46 PM) You really think they will fire him? I hope you're right. Absolutely...a 128 million dollar payroll team playing in front of 20k a game is unacceptable.
  21. QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 06:44 PM) We f***ing suck! But good thing we picked up Ozzie's option! That doesn't matter...if Sox have a disasterous road trip vs Tampa/Detroit/NYY, and go something like 2-9, then he'll be on the hot seat.
  22. Rios has absolutely no power anymore. How many more years are we stuck with him?
  23. We're playing some really bad baseball right now. Facing all these stud pitchers is catching up to the offense, as even Ozzie mentioned that. This Angels team is pretty damn good when they get Morales back.
  24. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 04:02 AM) If any of you have ever seen Felix's other posts, then yes, he was obviously kidding. Some of you are very gullible or just ignorant of the opinions of one of the best posters on this board (Felix). This ^^^^
