  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 09:26 PM) No, I have no source. I know GT is not happy with Hewitt, but he's done a pretty good job by my standards. I'm not expecting Iowa to become a national powerhouse, I'd be happy if they got back to contending for a big ten title every few years and made the tourney 75% of the time. Hewitt's had one above .500 record in the ACC during his ten years in Atlanta. He's been a debacle, and he owes Jarrett Jack and Will Bynum millions of dollars for one tournament run.
  2. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 07:41 PM) Fathom where have you heard Udoh is coming back? Everything I have heard is that Udoh is going to seriously test the waters along with Dunn. There was an interview with Drew a month ago where he said that Udoh told him that he has no desire to go pro, and that he was for sure returning next season. Considering this is Udoh's 4th college season, I think he'd be nuts to return.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 08:09 PM) If he is that dirty, the NCAA will be knocking on his door in no time. It's Baylor...as long as you don't try to frame one of your deceased players as a drug dealer, then you're considered a good guy.
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 07:11 PM) Iowa might kick the tires on Paul Hewitt. Is that an actual source? If that's true, I pray to God that you guys take him. Trust me, you don't want him. No one gets less out of their talent than he does. No doubt in my mind that GT would have been better if they just didn't have a coach the last 5 seasons. I also don't think he'd relate well to the recruits in the state of Iowa. He plays the race card very, very often with recruits.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 08:02 PM) If that is the case, the sooner he gets out, the better. Why get out now though when he finally has his superstar, Perry Jones, coming to campus? I think after next season will be when he jumps elsewhere.
  6. And BTW, Keno Davis is the exact opposite of Lickliter. His Providence team was one of the worst defensive squads I've ever seen, but at least they were efficient on offense.
  7. I can't see Drew leaving Baylor this offseason. He has a top 3 player coming in next year, and his best player on the current roster, E. Udoh, is expected to return next season. You're looking at a top 10 team for 2010-2011. He's also known as one of the shadiest recruiters in all of college basketball.
  8. Ozzie might be leaning towards batting Kotsay 5th! http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,3094909.story
  9. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 03:27 AM) He's looked really good too. Kotsay that is. Has he?
  10. First AB I've seen from Andruw Jones this year, and I'm extremely impressed. Lined a double into right center. With that said, I'm already sick of hearing Hawk praise Mark Kotsay.
  11. I should have never underestimated the crappiness of UNC's guards.
  12. I'm so excited that there's 24 minutes left in the career of Paul Hewitt. That motherf***er has been stealing money for 4 seasons now. He can take his BCA agenda and clogged toilet offense and get the f*** out of Atlanta.
  13. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 10:55 PM) Sounds like a crappy situation all-around. Any ideas on possible replacements? Nope, GT fans always like to throw Mark Price's name in the mix, but I was told that's not likely to happen. Since they wouldn't have a lot of money to spend on their new coach, they'd go after a younger guy like Cameron Dollar, Chris Collins, etc. One of the things that sucks about being a GT fan is that a majority of their fans only care about football. They'd rather give raises to the assistant football coaches than to have a competitive basketball team.
  14. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 08:19 PM) Pretty much killed UAB's at large hopes too. UAB is going to have to win the conference tourny most likely now as well to get in. And getting destroyed by So Miss today
  15. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 10:49 PM) So fathom, if Hewitt wins today does that save his job for another year? What some of the best sources are saying, if they lose tonight and don't make the tourney, they will do everything in their power to fire him. The thing is, that decision has to be made by Monday, or else his contract rolls over another year. If they win tonight and make NCAA Tourney, and then go one and out, the AD will fire all the assistant coaches in an effort to get Hewitt to quit and settle for about half of the remaining contract. Everyone involved with GT wants Hewitt out, and the AD went as far to say last night that everyone knows there's "unique circumstances" relating to the job evaluation of Hewitt. Unique = ridiculous contract signed by previous AD.
  16. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 10:33 PM) Turner is fantastic as well, both guys do everything for their squad. I would just take Monroe's season against a tougher schedule and size over Turner. Monroe, Turner, and Demarcus Cousins would be my three finalists. But I know either Wall or Turner will win it. It would be an absolute joke if Wall wins POY.
  17. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 07:53 PM) True but he's still their third best big anyways. Syracuse is actually much better with him out of the game.

    LOST!!!!

I'm officially bored as hell with this show right now. The flash sideway destroyed the momentum of the show, in my opinion.

    LOST!!!!

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 10:27 PM) The most important aspect of the show for several seasons was the danger of the others and Ben and trying to find out where they came from, now they are pretty much irrelevant as the "Temple" has been brought into play for some reason and who knows what those people are doing there. Yep, looking back on things, there's maybe 3 seasons that was completely wasted (if not more). The whole Dharma thing was pretty worthless in retrospect.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 09:20 PM) Which means we would be a 65 win team for years until we caught lightning in a bottle. No thanks. Kenny can keep dealing prospects for proven players as far as I am concerned. Couldn't agree more, especially because we're never competitive in the FA market.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 09:17 PM) Do you honestly think that people would be willing to keep buying two million or so tickets a year while the minor league system developed as we quit bringing in replacement players via trade? Not a chance in hell with our fan base
  22. fathom

    LOST!!!!

Well, that would be a hell of an ending if that guy's theory is correct.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 06:30 PM) Really? Ahead of Posey, Smoak, Alvarez, Matusz, the other Beckham? I think you can make a case for any of them. Probably others too. If you look at what Tampa has, they're pretty set at the corners. Considering their window to win is the next 2 seasons likely with the Crawford/Pena groups, Gordon would have been the best fit. I think Posey's going to be a huge flop, BTW
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 06:12 PM) If that draft got a do-over, where does Gordon go? First, especially with Bartlett looking like a star at SS for Tampa.
