  1. Battle must have had some wager where it was Penn State -1.5
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 13, 2010 -> 03:48 AM) McCamey and Tisdale the only ones who showed up tonight. T. Battle with an absolutely abysmal final 5 minutes. McCamey and Tisdale are really carrying Illinois.
  3. With Ozzie wanting his slappy leadoff hitter and rotating DH, if this offense fails, he better be held responsible.
  4. Just saw this...and I'm shocked. Castro was awful for the Sox in the field and at the plate.
  5. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jan 9, 2010 -> 10:00 PM) Watching GT/Duke makes me hate Paul Hewitt How do you think it feels to be a diehard GT fan? Oh well, great win.
  6. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jan 9, 2010 -> 08:35 PM) And Chris Colvin suspended. Already rumors that he's played his last game for ISU. Watch him land somewhere closer to Chicago. He was inquiring into transferring to Illinois a few weeks ago. Pretty sure they told him thanks, but no thanks.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 9, 2010 -> 02:58 AM) I do remember Thomas killing us in 2006. Crede killed us? I guess my memory is shot right now. Yeah, he seemed to do a lot of damage against the Sox last year.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 9, 2010 -> 02:53 AM) How come I see this every single time an ex-sox player goes to another team? What former player has killed us? I'm serious. I just want to know. Thomas and Crede
  9. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 9, 2010 -> 01:45 AM) Yeah, it's pretty poor for people to be calling out Colt. I wasn't his biggest fan, but clearly, if you can't throw a 7 yard pass, you're not going to make it. I applaud him for doing his darnest to get Gilbert ready for the 2nd half. He had confidence in Garrett when Garrett didn't have any. It was a great game and both QB's did all they could. I wanted Alabama to win before the game started, but I kind of wish it was given to Texas after the fact. I also think the injury is much more major than what Colt is letting on. He said it didn't hurt, just felt numb. His coaches and almost everyone at Texas didn't want him to play so he didn't hurt his draft status. They were even saying this on the telecast. I would feel the same as Colt. He worked 4 hard years for that game and it was ripped away like Tonya Harding hitting Nancy Kerrigan with a lead pipe. Where's ptatc to describe the mechanism of the injury?
  10. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 9, 2010 -> 01:27 AM) Dude, if you can't throw a 7 yard pass there is pretty little value in you. Clearly he can't play. People keep saying McCoy was less hurt than he was, as he didn't want to return to the game and hurt his draft stock. It's likely the exact opposite, and his injury is more severe than they're letting on but he wants to rehab it as much as he can prior to the combine.
  11. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 9, 2010 -> 01:23 AM) He couldn't have come in in any capacity at all? Even run an option or a shovel pass? Nothing? Hell, even a decoy. I know if I was a player on Texas, I'd still feel a bit slighted. And I know for a fact that there are at least a few guys on that team who aren't the biggest McCoy fans right now. It's going to be annoying listening to people suck his dick for a while. He couldn't throw the ball 7 yards. You don't think Alabama wouldn't have realized that?
  12. Who was saying that McCoy was a pansy for not returning? http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news...o&type=lgns This sounds like a scene from a Disney movie.
  13. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 10:44 PM) It's not about McCoy lighting it up, it's about McCoy doing better than the 4-20 start Gilbert had. 10-20 would be a bad start for McCoy and that would be a drastic improvement. That's why it's very easy to say McCoy makes them a lot better last night. He didn't need to light it up considering Texas had a late drive to take the lead with a 4-20 passing start from Gilbert. No kidding, I can't believe people don't realize how big of a difference it was from going from McCoy, who was one of the most accurate passers in college football...to Gilbert, who every pass he threw in the first half looked like it was intended for an Alabama defender or a worm on the ground.
  14. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 11:38 PM) Of course not. KW didn't wait and he ended up losing and now we have one of the worst offenses in the majors and Andrew Jones as our DH. If it's true that we're really at our budget, then it amazes me that we decided to bring in Teahen and use up 4 million of our free dollars for such a marginal player. You can say the same about the 2 million for Vizquel/Kotsay.
  15. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 10:17 PM) Royals signed OF Scott Podsednik to a one-year, $1.75 million contract with a $2 million club option for 2011. ARE YOU f***ING KIDDING ME??! AND NOW WE HAVE JUAN f***ING PIERRE!?!?! SERIOUSLY!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!? Wow, that's a great deal for KC. I would have taken that, as much as I've hated Pods, over the Pierre contract.
  16. GT's defensive coordinator fired....there is a God!
  17. Good for Pods. Nice to see his comeback last season result in more money from his family. He was the heart and soul of the Sox last year, and I wish him well when he's not facing the Sox. With that said, I look forward to see Buehrle and Danks pick him off 10 times next year. Also, Greinke's ERA might be below 1 next year, as Pods just dominated him.
  18. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 06:10 AM) Don't you think the injury to McCoy also throws Bama for a loop too? You've spent weeks preparing for something and a couple plays into the game, it means nothing. Obviously Gilbert isn't as talented, but it certainly had some effect on Alabama too. Well, Saban said after the game that in the first half, Texas was playing differently than what they had planned for. He said in the 2nd half, that was more of what they had game planned for. With that said, it sure seems like Alabama would have struggled defending the passing game if McCoy stayed healthy with Shipley lighting them up in the 2nd half.
  19. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 06:28 AM) I'll be the first to say it, I really think Boise could have competed with both these teams. Rip away... Disagree...I don't think Boise is that much better than Cincinnati, and we all saw how Cincinnati looked against Florida. People underestimate how great the Alabama and Florida defenses were this season.
  20. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 05:15 AM) No way in hell anyone could say that. If McCoy doesn't get hurt, it's very likely Texas leads at least 10-0 after their first 2 drives. If Texas was able to get Alabama into a game where McElroy has to throw a lot, they win. He's a very mediocre QB, and Texas was getting a ton of pressure on him. But like someone else said, that shovel pass at the end of the first half was just a stupid call by Mack.
  21. No doubt in my mind that Texas wins this game if McCoy stays healthy. McCoy really seems like a genuinely great person.
  22. Barring a Texas comeback, this concludes the most boring college football season in a long time. Terrible Heisman winner, terrible Bowl games, etc.
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 03:45 PM) They are bad, but they have the projected #24 kid in the NBA draft, a 6'10" guy with handles and a shot. Cameron Dollar, former assistant for Lorenzo Romar, is their head coach. No doubt in my mind that he'll be a superstar coach in college basketball in 5 years. He's got tons of connections, both good and bad if you know what I mean.
  24. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 03:43 PM) How bad are they? Seattle lost by 21 to Harvard. Harvard's one of the best mid-majors this season.
  25. One minute into the Iowa St/Duke game, and I'll call it: Duke wins
