  1. Nix really gets good ABs against LHP.
  2. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 02:27 AM) Good thing we didnt lose Clay Richard in a Jake Peavy trade. Lets wait more than two starts before saying such a thing publicly next time. Yeah, if we have Peavy, he could have gone 1 inning and allowed 4 runs.
  3. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 02:26 AM) hahahahaha that's for you shipps. clayton is awesome tonight Any of our pitchers would get crushed with this umpire tonight. I see absolutely no point in you being happy that he's struggling. If you want him traded (which it seems from your posts), you should want him to keep pitching well.
  4. What happened to Anderson?
  5. That one is on this umpire.
  6. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 02:24 AM) Who is he gonna lose the CF job to? I see nothing anywhere close to MLB ready that is gonna step up and be a real CFer that we need sadly. He's going to lose his job to Pods, that's almost a guarantee right now.
  7. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 02:20 AM) Anderson's arm and glove is still worth the start. No, it's really not. Maybe if you have Quentin going off in LF and a good hitting middle infielder. On this particular squad, we need more punch from CF. BA will have no one to blame but himself when he's a 4th outfielder come June 10th.
  8. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 02:19 AM) this is why no one should be saying anderson or wise should be starting. Yep, they both suck.
  9. Good job by Fields to break up the DP. Anderson is absolutely horrific right now.
  10. Fields seeing this pitcher nicely. Do something BA!
  11. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 02:03 AM) I know especially with all the time he has had to work with Clayton. Good point, didn't think of that
  12. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 02:02 AM) This is disgusting how the As are outplaying us -- at home no less. We're just not putting up enough offense at home. That .219 batting average coming into the game is one of the craziest stats ever.
  13. Wow, Clayton just doesn't have it. I'm already less than impressed with Castro's pitch selection.
  14. We're letting all their bums beat us tonight.
  15. Alexei seems to be hitting a ton of weak balls to right field these days. It's almost the opposite from how he was the first 30 games.
  16. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 12:36 AM) Welcome back to reality, Clayton! you seem way too happy to type this
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 11:51 PM) Not trash, but I would have liked him on our team playing CF and leading off. He's better than anything we currently have and better than most on the open market. Agreed, I thought KW was going to go after him by offering up Poreda and others.
  18. I have no confidence that the Sox will handle the Contreras situation properly.
  19. Great news...Murphy was one of the worst radio personalities ever.
  20. Anyone think we might target Oliver from Okl St with our first pick to fill the void of potentially trading Poreda and/or Richard?
  21. I'd be shocked if the 38th pick isn't used on a hard throwing guy. 23 will likely be a position player it would seem.
  22. Zambrano's stuff has deteriorated a lot over the years, as his fastball seems a good 2-3 mph lower than it used to be. I want nothing to do for him, as the only time I'll root for him is rooting for him to blow out his elbow.
  23. Brian Anderson isn't a good enough player to get this worked up about. It's not like if Ozzie would have platooned Owens with Quentin last year. All Anderson had to do was get one clutch hit in the last week and/or not get sick, and we wouldn't have seen this thread.
  24. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 07:52 PM) You need to tone it down. You have been pushing the insult line with other posters here, over and over again - cool it. Also, you are waaaaaaay over the top with the Ozzie hatred. You want some evidence that Ozzie is a good manager? Here is a measure for you... Ozzie fairly regularly beats most other managers in Pythagorean results analysis. The measure is used to show how many games their team should theoretically have one, referencing run differential in an equation. Ozzie's teams have a habit, regularly, of beating expectations. Ozzie's had one of his better years so far with in-game managing. He's handled our pitchers perfectly, for the most part.
  25. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 06:52 PM) So his middle school teachers didn't like him? Is that what you're saying? Ha, it's given me the chance to talk to some of the people associated with the athletic department there. I don't believe he'll go to college though, and he'll sign for above slot money whenever he's picked.
