QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 9, 2009 -> 12:44 AM) I wouldn't mind seeing Broadway get a start. Gross...he's another terrible player that has no business being on a MLB roster. The options should be Poreda, Whisler, or Torres. If you don't reward the players who are performing in the minors, then KW is a freaking hypocrite.

QUOTE (chisox2334 @ May 9, 2009 -> 01:42 AM) anyone really suprised here.... sorry to say this was going to happened no matter what cause ozzie that blind to see that contreas isnt at all right and this isnt helping this teams confidence. If we're not going to score 4 runs or more tonight, I hope Jose gives up 20 runs. He's just not a MLB caliber starter anymore, and doesn't give the Sox a good chance to win his starts.

The worst part about all of this is Ozzie will say these were unearned, so Jose shouldn't be punished for them.

And a wild pitch. Why in the hell would AJP call for that pitch there with a runner on 3rd? The booing is getting a lot louder.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 9, 2009 -> 01:37 AM) Hawk is having an outstanding day behind the microphone right now. This is outstanding. Yep, and anyone that comes into this thread and says we're being too hard on Contreras should shut up and listen to what they're saying.

Nice play by Nix to get one out.

Hawk's about to lose it on Contreras. I've never heard him so down about a Sox player.

Strike 1 down the plate, not called.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 9, 2009 -> 12:26 AM) He's using his forkball about half as often this year than in year's past. From ~21% down to ~10%. I hate you

Strike out, throw out. Quentin is pulling off everything, it's getting awful.

QUOTE (chisox2334 @ May 9, 2009 -> 12:22 AM) contreas body langaguage says it all no confience and walking back dugout like he knows this is it. It's this simple...if he's not willing to throw his fork ball, then don't pitch him. It's similar to if Floyd didn't want to throw his curve.

Yay, still in it after a 4-6-3. 5 runs again in the 1st, please!

Walks him, booing has started. This is so depressing.

Stone keeps also saying that if Contreras continues to drop down and throws it over the plate like he's doing, the Rangers are going to crush him. He's not even trying to throw forkballs now. Who would have thought Contreras would get Andruw Jones to a 1-2 count, and not even try to throw his only above average pitch?

2 steals already vs Contreras...AJP had a shot both times, but made bad throws.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 9, 2009 -> 12:17 AM) This is his 3rd hitter and I'm done. He's throwing 100% sidearm and getting behind, this is sink or swim time for Jose. At this rate his Sox career could be over by the 4th. Nice catch by Lillibridge, I thought that was gone off the bat.

QUOTE (ptatc @ May 9, 2009 -> 12:15 AM) I also cannot see why people want to see more of Nix in the lineup. Are the raw tools any better than Lillibridge? At least Lillibridge had some success in the minors. Nix got cut by the Rockies. If you can't hit there you are in trouble. I'm not necessarily advocating for Lillibridge but I don't see Nix as that much better of an option. Nix looks like a 10 year MLB veteran compared to Lillibridge. Lillibridge is completely overmatched at the plate, and besides his speed, has no tools to really develop. I agree with you though, the Nix love will probably last another week at the most. Then, we'll hear calls again for Alexei in CF and Beckham at SS.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 8, 2009 -> 11:52 PM) This makes no sense...he looks defensively very, very legit at 2b/SS. Why in the world would we put him in CF? Especially with how Alexei was mediocre at best at SS.
