  1. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 11:45 PM) when did tavaras qualify for high OBP When he became fast and cheap
  2. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 11:44 PM) Or even worse, accept arbitration. If he did that, I think Ozzie might have to talk with Uggie Urbina.
  3. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 12:39 AM) how long have we been harping on this organization to get us some fast+high OBP guys, a leadoff hitter, and a CF and it never happens, year after year? Be careful what you wish for. I don't want to see Taveras in CF next season, while we give up all of our trade chips for one year of Chone.
  4. PLEASE ORLANDO CABRERA, DO NOT GET HURT FOR THE NEXT 2 MONTHS!
  5. QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 11:32 PM) I'm not even upset right now. The White Sox were a good team this year, but not a great one. We are lucky to get this far, and a divisional championship is something to be proud of. It's not like we were a 100 win team with a great rotation and lights out pen. This simply isn't our year. Anyone else feel the same? I'm thrilled with this season. I'm saving the long post for after the 27th out.
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 12:25 AM) Hopefully, that's the last of the Griffey era on the southside. He's one of the best ever. But he seriously needs to consider hangin' it up. He wants to play 3 more years.
  7. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 12:28 AM) Who would you rather have back next year? Thome or Griffey Thome
  8. QUOTE (DaGame2584 @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 12:27 AM) Sign Orlando Hudson, trade PK to LAA for Figgins! Yuck...I really wish people would just move on for Hudson. He's going to the Yankees.
  9. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 12:27 AM) I know people are counting down Cabrera's at-bats, but how about Griffey's? His last possibly at-bat could be striking out ona pitch in the dirt. How fitting. Griffey played pretty good baseball the last month. I was suprised to see his OPS be nearly .800 with the Sox, and his defense hasn't been nearly as bad lately.
  10. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 12:24 AM) Do you know that they might have 3 championships after this year?? KW could do amazing things with this team if he had a 160 million dollar payroll and a guaranteed fan base for the next 5 years. I could just imagine the outrage on this site if we traded a player the caliber of Manny for Jason Bay.
  11. Symbolic of this series....way too much swinging at balls and taking strikes.
  12. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 12:22 AM) Screw Swisher, move Dye because he has more value. Get a real CF. With this season all but over, give me your offseason predictions.
  13. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 12:22 AM) how bout we trade KW and the keys to the city of Chicago for theo epstein? Do you know how many s***ty contracts the Red Sox have given out over the last 5 years?
  14. All cock exposing aside, I'm thankful this series has been on TBS instead of Comcast. I would strangle someone if I had to hear Hawk blame everything on the umpires.
  15. Ramirez keeps us in the game with his defense. I would really like to see that be the last inning for Dotel in his Sox career. Get some value for him, as his arm might fall off after this year's workload.
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 12:14 AM) Quentin and JD should swap positions in the offseason. I love the fact that Rosenthal already suggested we trade Dye for a SP or athletic CF. Put CQ in RF, Swisher in LF, and upgrade at CF, 3B, or SP.
  17. Jermaine Dye's defense in RF is so bad. His inability to charge the ball with any quickness completely negates his average throwing arm.
  18. Dear Matt Thornton: You've been good this year, but don't come back to Spring Training without a slider.
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 12:07 AM) How is Figgins' FP and range at 3rd? Not very good.
  20. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 12:06 AM) What are the odds that old rumor of Roberts to the Scrubs comes back next year? 100%
  21. I guess Matt Thornton's not good enough to face Jason Bartlett. One of these years, Ozzie will just turn Thornton loose and let him start innings.
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 10:57 PM) Thome = Southside Soriano = no show Except Thome's not supposed to be in the prime of his career and isn't one of the 5 highest paid players in baseball.
  23. Just got home to see the homer Some of the posts in here are pathetic though. Tampa is a better team than the White Sox...there's no shame in saying that. They're more athletic, more focused, and have better middle relief. Too bad Hawk, the 3 best teams in baseball according to you will be finished playing in 4 hours. Nice to see the crowd still into the game.
  24. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 11:07 PM) Please no Gavin hate. Think about how far this guy has come. He didn't have it today. If we only had more pitching depth, he'd be the ultimate sell high guy. With his K rate and home run trouble, I'm not sure if he'll ever be better than he was this year (not that it's a bad thing).
