  1. There's nothing worse than being stuck at work getting play-by-play about a Sox game from Cubs fans.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 05:11 PM) Definitely relaxed. Honestly, I'm just happy to be here. Once God went down, I didn't think we had the team to get here. I'm definitely the same. I feel like the fat girl at the prom...just happy to be there. I don't mind Tampa at all, so I will root for them if they beat the Sox. I've told my friends that the Tuesday game was my Super Bowl. Anything else is gravy.
  3. QUOTE (JDsDirtySox @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 04:46 AM) I loved how after we made the last out of the 8th... when Bobby's music hit... the place went nuts. All I could think of was Rick "Wild Thing" Vaughn in Major League. It is always fun to see Bobby come into the game, but last night gave me goose bumps. Also loved seeing Carlos Gomez suck at the plate... man I hate that kid. Didn't the bottom of the 8th seem to last forever?
  4. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:58 AM) The Anderson catch for sure. It made it extra special that my only black jersey in Anderson, so it was on my back. I was getting huge pats on the back after the HR, and the walk down the ramps. It was just an amazing game. Every pitch was so vital, the entire game. I felt worn out when the game was over. I felt drained in the 4th inning yesterday. I got my second wind, and the adrenaline kept me going until I got home. After that, I felt like I had been in a boxing match. I woke up this morning thinking "was that a dream yesterday, it was just too damn perfect".
  5. Soriano will not get a good crowd reaction if he makes an out here.
  6. Ugh, why would you bring in Maddux here? If you're having Saito warm up, just bring him in.
  7. Even the Dodgers routine fly balls seem to be close to going out.
  8. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 01:32 AM) my my,a bit touchy I see No, just saying there's no reason to jinx things.
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:30 AM) Billingsley has actually been better than Zambrano this year It would be nice if the wind is blowing in tomorrow.
  10. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:30 AM) You could always count on the Cubs to under perform,Dempster was terrible out there Seriously, can we stop with these posts for now?
  11. QUOTE (chisox72 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:28 AM) Zambrano will put a TON more pressure on himself to go out and succeed tomorrow night, and he won't likely handle it well. He hasn't been that great since his no-hitter. I could see him doing a complete meltdown job on the mound. That being said, this is rather amusing. Every single one of us, I am sure, have Cub fan friends who spent the last few days telling us how easy this series was going to be and that they were going to sweep the Dodgers. Actually, a lot of Cubs fans told me that they don't care who they play. They were like "bring them on, no one can beat us".
  12. Jeez, I thought that was way out. How did Loney's get out, and that one stay in?
  13. Broxton needs to keep his fastball up in the zone to Edmonds.
  14. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:23 AM) Yeah I dont know it seems like a statistical anomaly because I dont like Dempsters stuff compared to Harden or Z. Thats just personally me, but I always have felt Dempster can be gotten to so I didnt think he would do well today. Dempster's stuff is significantly better than Zambrano's now. Dempster throws harder, and his slider gets a lot more swings and misses. When I checked around the ASB, Zambrano's K rate was way down.
  15. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 01:19 AM) This isnt about jinxes this is about match ups. Lowe > Dempster Z > Billingsley Harden > Kuroda Lilly = Maddux Right now things are just playing to how they should be, so when Z shuts down LA tomorrow its not going to be a shocker. Its just going to be why would you ever really want Dempster as your starter in game 1? Dempster's been the Cubs best pitcher this season, and it's not even close.
  16. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:15 AM) I guess that the Cubs' record doesn't mean much now, huh. Let's not jinx stuff
  17. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:14 AM) I wish theyd start Swish at least give him a chance. He'll start Friday
  18. The Cubs pitchers have not been sharp today.
  19. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 01:03 AM) I agree, Swish is a solid LF. And about the arm. But I'll tell ya, I was sitting in sec 155 yesterday, right above the LF foul pole. And Wise didn't look to me like he was playing deep. Its a short LF in the Cell, and he was still pretty far in, it looked like. Hard to say though, from the angle I was at. How bad was the bathroom situation by your part of the concourse? It was insane by the RF foul pole.
