KW crying? Maybe he will finally do something!!!
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 04:57 PM) I know everyone feels like s*** ATM, but you still have to remember that the Sox have had a good season, and much better than most people anticipated. We're in a much better place than where we were 1 year ago, when there a LOT of question being asked, and I don't think people should lose sight of that. This is the most accurate post that can be made. They've kept us entertained until at least the last weekend of the season.

Fall of '08 television season thread
Maybe it was my mood after the Sox game, but I didn't think The Office was that funny. The hour episodes really seem to drag.

Cabrera Rips Teammates
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 03:15 PM) I am going to predict that Brandon Allen is one of the guys traded this off season. Call it a hunch based on history. That's fine with me...you can always find 1b/DH types.

Royals at Twins 7:10
Any word on if DeJesus will be available? As I mentioned last night, the Royals have a better chance of beating the Twins right now than we did due to their hitting.

Cabrera Rips Teammates
BTW, my prediction for White Sox 3rd baseman next year is Melvin Mora.

Mariners wanted to "Gomer Pyle", Ichiro?
QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 03:40 PM) We could probably get Brian Roberts for a package of Poreda, Shelby, Getz, Fields. Yuck...not with Roberts going into his walk year.

Cabrera Rips Teammates
I never thought I'd say this, but Cabrera might be my favorite player on this current roster at this moment. I really appreciate that he's not going down quietly.

Cabrera Rips Teammates
I just hope things don't get so ugly over the next few weeks with OC that KW feels he can't even risk offering OC arbitration.

Cleveland Indians @ Chicago White Sox - 9/26
The ultimate test for our manager's motivation skill. If these guys come out flat when they still control their own destiny...then maybe we should make OC the manager.

**White Sox vs. Twins 9/25/08 Thread**
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 07:27 AM) and of course if we do get to a 1 game playoff I can bet you anything it'll be in that piece of crap dome... Wrong...we won the coin toss.

Let me start game threads
Predict the lineup....here's mine: SS- Cabrera CF- Anderson 2B- Ramirez DH- Thome RF- Dye 1B- Konerko LF- Swisher C- AJP 3B- Uribe
-
Everyone Else Has Started A Thread...
That Swisher for Cano trade would be interesting, but all the rumors suggest Cano will be used to acquire some pitching. I think two free agents the Sox will look at besides Hudson are Punto and Abreu. Abreu and Ozzie are close friends, and if there was anyway the Sox could move Dye to DH by unloading Thome, he would be a great fit in RF.

Everyone Else Has Started A Thread...
One more thing....with the White Sox, Ken Griffey Jr. is 7-44 against LHP with an OPS around .450. Stop letting him face lefty relievers!!

Everyone Else Has Started A Thread...
Here goes nothing: - In the last 8 games, the White Sox have exactly one single, double, or triple that went into the outfield to score a runner. Every other run has been scored via homer or ground out. - You want a positive? We can actually cheer for a thriving offense this weekend when hoping for the Royals to beat the Twins. I have a feeling our old buddy Miguel Olivo could have some big hits against Liriano and/or Perkins. - There is absolutely no chance that Orlando Cabrera returns to the White Sox. From day one, it's been a bad fit.http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/whitesox/chi-080925-ozzie-guillen-orlando-cabrera-white-sox,0,1795712.story - A common belief in baseball is that it's not the start on 3 days rest that hurts a pitcher the most, but rather it's the start that follows. With that in mind, Vazquez/Buehrle/Floyd went 16 2/3 innings and allowed 12 earned runs with 32 base runners allowed. In conclusion, the 4 man rotation was an absolute disaster. - Please Kenny Williams, don't get too caught up in the Twins hype. By acquiring a few speedsters this offseason, it's not going to magically turn us into a blooper hitting, base stealing s***head squad. It's ok if you try to sign Hudson (Yankees want him), but don't give up any prospects we might have for Figgins. Figgins is not well-received in the Angels locker room. You know, the same locker room where Cabrera was a godsend. - I'm just so thankful that Quentin's injury doesn't appear to be something we'll have to worry about for next season, and that Konerko's knee was ok. Just please Cabrera, don't hurt yourself in the next week so that we can't offer you arbitration. -I guessed I missed the memo where we were trying to stretch out Jenks to become a starting pitcher. - Can we really blame Hawk for loving Gomez? No matter what he says, Gomez looks all-world against the Sox. Also, Hawk was pretty damn good tonight. - This should make you laugh: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur8AwQHusZw

Carlos Gomez
I give him and Span credit for playing with just a ton of energy.

The attitude on this board sucks right now
QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 05:10 AM) haha, good luck with that. I predict by 6:55 pm tomorrow, there will be ~25 threads about how this team needs to be blown up/destroyed/moved to a different city/ etc. How come you haven't used the clever THIS.TEAM.IS.DEAD line tonight?

The attitude on this board sucks right now
QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 05:00 AM) Guys, all we have to do is match the Twins during the next three games. Win against Detroit, and we have a one-game playoff at home. We're virtually tied in the standings. We're not out of this by any means. Go Sox! Tomorrow's Sox game will be one of the most interesting in term of atmosphere dynamics you can possibly imagine.

The worst calls of the night were the check-swing call on Swisher and the squeezing with c***o at the plate.

The CHOKE of 2008
QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 05:00 AM) Seriously? Source? This organization is a joke. I TRULY feel that most members of this board could GM/manage better. I'm not even f***ing joking. Saw it on cheat's blog.

2008 White Sox = Failure
QUOTE (goAlexei!! @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 03:58 AM) To be perfectly honest I would prefer to be out of it all season than to go out this pathetic way. To be blunt firings must occur. I don't know of who but this is just unacceptable. Screw that, last season sucked. I was more interested in Brewers games than Sox games for the last two months of the season.

Expanded Instant Replay
If we feel like we're getting screwed on calls, then why doesn't our jackass manager go get tossed?

Expanded Instant Replay
That Span play was so close that it would be inconclusive.

The CHOKE of 2008
Jenks performance has really tailed off down the stretch in 2 of the last 3 seasons.

2008 White Sox = Failure
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 04:50 AM) I really have a hard time blaming the coaching staff. I am really torn as a Sox fan right now. I really am impressed with what Williams did this off-season after a terrible year, but at the same time, the team is one of the most one dimensional teams I have ever seen watching baseball. Walker coaches these guys to not only play to their strengths, but to the ballparks strength. It just so happens most of the lineups strength is built around an all or nothing approach. As I have said, the Sox need some different style hitters to mold around the power. We've seen the offense just fall off the table in 4 straight seasons now after the ASB. Let's go get Roberts and Figgins this offseason, and take it from there.
