  1. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 02:47 AM) He was. Crap, I meant Nadal.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 01:45 AM) Anybody officially worried or bummed about the acquisition of Griffey? The only thing I'm worried about is him playing too much. Guys who don't throw hard, like Bannister and Miner, should be perfect for KGJr.
  3. QUOTE (That funky motion @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 01:42 AM) It looks like Javy was watching Beckett the way he is moving the ball around. Beckett's command of his 95 mph fastball was exciting to watch last night, in regards to being a pitcher and not a thrower.
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 02:40 AM) Vesna Sekaric, she's a shooter. I would have chosen Djokovic or Sapic, but oh well. I still can't believe Federer wasn't carrying the flag for his country. Also, it seemed like NBC could have cared less about Lopez Lemong carrying the flag. They were too busy showing the beach volleyball girls (talk about overrated in terms of hotness).
  5. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 01:24 AM) Outside of tennis, Serbia has been a dissapointment. 0-2 in water polo and volleyball, as well as 0-1-1 in soccer. Hell, even in tennis, Ana Ivanovic dropped out due to injury. Nothing is over yet, but a huge disappointment to a country that came in with high expectations. Right now, we're banking on Cavic, Djokovic, and Jankovic to get us some medals. Hopefully Sapic, probably the best water polo player in the world, gets things together with the team and get wins in the next 3 matches, starting against the USA on Thursday. Who carried the flag for Serbia?
  6. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 01:30 AM) TEX 14 BOS 14 Marlon Byrd has 20 hits in his last 7 games.
  7. QUOTE (tommy @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 02:28 AM) Twins tie. Babe Everett
  8. QUOTE (tommy @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 02:26 AM) Opposite Field HR for AJP. He made that look easy
  9. QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 01:15 AM) DAMN Swish hit that a long way..... That was a great at bat by Swisher
  10. Let's get the bats going again to give Javy some breathing room.
  11. QUOTE (stretchstretch @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 02:02 AM) in the trampoline dome there is a mystical force that reverses all known priciples of physics.....up is down, right is left, black is white, earth revolves around the moon, and so on....... Just like when Texas played there, the at bats the Yanks are having so far this series are horrendous.
  12. Bannister's in a terrific rhythm right now. It looks like he's throwing 98 mph out there.
  13. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 12:46 AM) I guess thats what I was getting at. I know everyone doesn't have to be buddy-buddy, but IMO, I have never seen a case of a player on a team just there to collect his paycheck and move on as much as Cabrera this season. I think Williams was fooled big time. To be honest, I think he's just a selfish SOB. He already has a WS ring, so he's just playing for his contract. I've definitely noticed a change in his approach since the ASB, as he's trying to pull the ball quite often to pad his power stats. The ironic thing is he has very few extra base hits since the ASB, as he's getting under a ton of pitches.
  14. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 01:41 AM) I don't know why it bothers me, but I'm getting sick of Cabrera and his constant conversations with the opposition. It's not about them having to hate each other, but it's all he does. It bothered me even more on Saturday at the game when Contreras was down, Uribe and Alexei were talking to each other during the delay, while the 3 OF's came together to talk. Where was Cabrera? Ran into the dugout, wasn't seen until play resumed. I know this is a pointless post, and serves no purpose, it just bothers me. I've noticed the same...hell, he seems to get along better with the opposition than with his teammates. Something that irks my brother a lot is that OC never seems to run hard when he gets a single into the outfield.
  15. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 11:59 PM) why the f*** is Swisher in LF and Griffey in CF? shouldn't they be flipped?? unreal. I doubt Griffey Jr. has ever played LF. On the bright side, at least we have a strikeout pitcher to hopefully prevent too many outfield plays that need to be made.
  16. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 12:54 AM) Ortiz with 6 RBI's in the first inning. John Danks first 6 innings last night might have been the best performance I've ever witnessed by a Sox starter.
  17. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 11:39 PM) apparently it's not OK to say the things we're all thinking. give me a flippin' break. you, and everyone else on this entire board has been on Javy's ass for the amount of sucking he's done outside of maybe one start, over the course of the entire year forgive me if I don't buy into the belief that Javy will have a good game string together 3-4 games then I'll start having some confidence I dislike Javy, and am pessimistic....but I think we have a better than 50 pct chance of winning tonight.
  18. General soreness for CQ, as he felt sore/numb from getting hit.
  19. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 11:39 PM) Apparently, it's not from HBP. He tweaked something in batting practice. Well that's not good. Are they saying he's day-to-day?
  20. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 11:28 PM) not good. hopefully it's just one game, but honestly we already knew Javy wouldn't give us a good chance to win anyways You can have my title of Mr. Pessimism.
  21. Assuming it's his left forearm, then this is no big deal.
  22. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 10:11 PM) s***. I'm going to hate rooting against Freddy. I'm going to love seeing the Sox hit against Freddy.
  23. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 10:08 PM) I'm just giving you a hard time. It's what I do. I totally agree with you as well. KW's had a great idea in the past with the Swisher trade and even the Vazquez trade....it's just that the players haven't panned out.
