  1. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 02:57 AM) The Cy Youngification of Minor is happening by Hawk. Pathetic...Griffey's had great pitches to hit all night.
  2. Griffey is trying way too hard right now. I've never seen him so jumpy at the plate.
  3. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 01:50 AM) People I don't want to see out of the lineup. Ramirez, Quentin and Dye. Mix and match the rest of the DH types to get Griffey in. Taking one of those guys out screws our offense up. I want to see more of Wise against righty sinker ballers. He has the perfect swing for that type of pitch.
  4. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 01:46 AM) makes you wonder what he'd be like in a playoff game Johnny Damon says hi
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 01:43 AM) Javy es no bueno And this is surprising?
  6. Just got home from work. How many times can we get burned this season pitching to Cabrera with a base open and 2 outs? GMAFB Ozzie.
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 08:09 PM) I really don't have the speed to play CF anymore. Everett-Mackowiak-Griffey-NorthSideSox72 This reminds me of Edgar Bennett-Tillman-Enis-Salaam
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 08:52 PM) So we have the 1st, 4th, and 6th place home run hitters in the AL and 5th, 6th, and 12th guys in OPS, with Thome 3rd on the team in both categories. That is as imposing a 3-4-5 as you'll find. Thome's rebound has been incredible though, he was absolutely horrible for two full months and has just been great since the beginning of June. I know everybody goes through slumps, but it was odd to see a hall of famer be unable to hit for two months, however Jim is back where he has been for a long time now, as an elite player. The funny thing with Thome is that he still can't hit the inside pitch at all. However, he's squaring up that outside pitch a lot more than he was early in the year, and most of his homers are going to the opposite way. I don't know why a team would ever pitch him a fastball away.
  9. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) what gives? I like it. He got plunked in the ribs last night, and then fouled a ball off of his shin. I think he needs the break, as he's been pull happy for the last two weeks.
  10. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 02:58 AM) seriously, f*** this, I would have rather lost so that way atleast Soxtalk was exploding...SEASON'S OVER, WTFOMG It's amazing how much quieter it really is when the Sox win. If the score were reversed, you would think you would probably have to be sent to the hospital and treated for a poisoning with how much venom is thrown around here. I'll speak for myself...I DVR'd Hard Knocks, and as soon as Sox game was over, I turned off my computer and went to watch one of my favorite shows on television.
  11. Excellent win tonight. Thome and Ramirez had the clutch 2 out hits.
  12. I can't believe they didn't throw Ramirez another slider.
  13. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 03:27 AM) Honestly, who lets a young pitcher like JV go 130 pitches? The funny thing is Verlander went into the 8th at the Cell earlier in the year, and he imploded (Gavin's near no-no)
  14. Ramirez!! What a great at bat. This game reminds me so much of the Sox/Cubs Sunday night baseball game at the Cell.
  15. Great job by PK of drawing that walk. Lopez is coming in with his slider.
  16. How about letting Griffey Jr. bat for Konerko?
  17. Put Griffey Jr. in for defensive reasons in the 9th?
  18. I always thought he deserved a fan club called the Wunsch Bunch
  19. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 02:01 AM) can't believe that leyland didn't PH joyce or granderson Hopefully Cora/Cooper have Logan ready for when Granderson hits for Sardinha or Raeburn.
  20. QUOTE (That funky motion @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 02:55 AM) Agreed but Toby called a pretty good game tonight. I did see Danks shake him off a bunch though. Yes, I agree with you.
  21. Damn, time to take Danks out. Not a very good pitch call by Toby, as he had him set up to get him with an offspeed pitch. Great game by Danks, he did what we needed him to do.
  22. That was a nice situation for Miguel Cabrera's liner to be right at Quentin.
  23. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 02:30 AM) It's these types of ABs that are killing Danks' chances to get a CG. He's far enough into the game that I'm no longer worried about that aspect.
