9/19 Sox v. Royals 7:10 CSN
QUOTE (whitesoxmanager @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 01:23 AM) there is no doubt you wont live past 50. you are the biggest most stressed out sox fan i have ever come across. kinda entertaining. Of all teams, the Royals have had the most rallies against the Sox over the past 4 years. And don't worry, I don't take much stock in stuff you say. After all, you're the person who blamed the Game 1 loss in the ALCS to the Angels because you didn't think the crowd was into the game.

OC's being a tough out at the plate right now, which is great to see. I'm out for now, a my internet isn't working well. Don't take this game for granted though, KC has a habit of coming back in games like this against us.

QUOTE (whitesoxmanager @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 02:05 AM) eat alexei meat. Thrilled with the slam....still doesn't mean it wasn't a bad slide.

Alexei!!!!! No one else you'd rather have up with the bases loaded. If DeJesus caught that at the track, I feared for my buddy jphat.

QUOTE (whitesoxmanager @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 12:59 AM) it was actually a good block by Buck. it wasnt a mental error. just a bad break for alexei. AJ would probably ran his ass over. now that is the AL! It was a terrible slide, even Hawk and DJ were criticizing him for it. It's real simple...make sure you touch home. There was plenty of room for Alexei to touch the plate.

AJP's had 4 great pitches to hit this at bat.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 01:48 AM) Wait, what did Alexei do? Tried to score on the double, and he easily beat the throw, but he tried some awful hook slide. Instead of touching home plate, he hit Buck's foot and never touched the plate.

Good grief Ramirez, touch home plate! I really dislike this team.

Bannister's stuff has been worse than Hughes was the other day. He's been behind in the count a lot.

9/19 Sox v. Royals 7:10 CSN
Terrible by Swisher...takes a meatball, and then swings at a low offspeed pitch.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 01:28 AM) Looks like they had a f***ing rodeo on the infield. Are you sure it's not the damage done from Jerry Owens batting practice today?

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 01:24 AM) oh where oh where is CQ. Oh where oh where can he be? Yep, he hit 2 bombs in KC against Bannister a few months ago. We can't keep using this excuse though, even if we still had CQ, there's too many players who seemingly have checked out for this season.

QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 01:23 AM) Hey GingerKid, where was that Griffey quote from? Little Big League? Bannister is throwing junk to the plate, and everyone is trying to hit the ball 500 feet.

Yay, two weak pop-ups on 3-1 pitches. I don't think Wise could have swung with more of an uppercut if he tried.

Sorry, Slowey's going for Twins tomorrow, so we'll see him in game 3 on Thursday.

Cliff Floyd has just crushed the ball in games I've watched this season (Tampa vs Sox, Cubs, Twins)

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 12:25 AM) 1-0 Rays. Iwamura's triple was comical. Almost the cheapest homer ever.

Wise in CF, and Swisher's in LF. No Griffey

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 07:22 PM) http://www.baseball-reference.com/l/leede02.shtml Intereting, I never looked at Lee's numbers before. Yeah his '05 OPS + was about 50 points higher than his career average and about 40 points higher than his second highest seasons. Also his RC/G avg that year was about 4 runs greater than his career average. He's is still a solid player, especially with the sick defense he plays His defense has been awful this season (by his standards)...I believe he has double digit errors.
