  1. In Danks first 18 starts, he had allowed 4 runs or more only twice. Now, he has a 4 game streak going of allowing at least 4 runs. His next start is against the Tigers.
  2. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 03:43 AM) It's bulls*** that we walk into the metrodome defeated. You can tell as the Twins started to do well today that everyone was looking around as if they were waiting for them to come back to get us. I remember one of our young pitchers being interviewed, I can't remember which, but he was talking about how players had told him of all the things that happen to us at the metrodome. This team needs to act like a first place team. Hawk said it perfectly that we were a team that was behind even when we were in the lead. I'm just grateful that Mauer's rocket in the 4th inning was positioned perfectly by OC last night, or else who knows how big of an inning that might have been.
  3. I wonder during that Kubel at bat what AJ was thinking in calling an inside fastball to a dead pull hitter?
  4. Kudos to Gardenhire though...he got this team absolutely fired up.
  5. Good thing we didn't acquire another relief pitcher today. Ouch, this is very demoralizing.
  6. Wow, unreal. Just hand them the division if you're going to play with no nuts.
  7. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 02:35 AM) Are we complaining about the same OC that stole a base today and ripped two basehits? I realize he made an error but his defense is the last f***ing thing we should be worrying about. No, he isn't Juan Uribe defensively but a lot of you guys act as if he isn't a top 5 defensive shortstop. Or how about he knock that ball down by getting in front of it?
  8. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 02:34 AM) I want to know if anyone reading this thread that believes we have any chance of winning this game? It's almost as if we don't know how to handle a lead in Minnesota. Well, this s*** better get resolved quick because we'll have one more series at The Dome in September, and if it means anything we can't give up leads like this. Everyone expects it, from the Manager on down.
  9. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 03:31 AM) Gold glove my ass. That play reminded me of opening day when he botched a similar grounder that led to a huge inning for the Indians.
  10. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 03:31 AM) 3. Saw the Gardenhire-prompted rebellion at the Metrodome. Kind of cool. Kind of pathetic
  11. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 03:30 AM) Again, thanks John Danks. At this point in his career, Danks is a 6 inning pitcher.
  12. Just got back home. Listening on the radio, I can't believe they let Danks start this inning. Also, please never start Fields against a righty.
  13. Well, if Hawk doesn't like the deal, then I like it even more.
  14. QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 01:32 AM) Hawk is LIVID About the trade?
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 09:26 PM) Signed as a free agent. I thought he signed with Indians, and then got traded to the Sox?
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 10:25 PM) He made me learn math. I still tell the horse named Friday riddle to my wife about every year, and she always forgets the punch line.
  17. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 10:24 PM) I look forward to Hawk ejaculating during the game tonight. Agreed
  18. Speaking of baseball movies, what exactly did the Sox have to give up to get Parkman?
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 10:17 PM) he trusted his guys. You know, if he would've kept the ultimatum, I'm sure that guy would've hit the home run. BUt griffey really snatched that shi**. Randy Johnson jumping on the mound after that catch is one of the best moments in cinema history.
  20. Why are so many people worried about who will see their PT diminished? Most of us have been begging to see less of Swisher and PK, and this is the chance. Hopefully Ozzie plays it smart and does his best to play the match-ups and get the hot bat into the lineup.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 09:05 PM) So have there been any interviews yet about what the Sox are planning for him? Is he everyday centerfielder tiil he gets hurt and Swish/Paulie rotating at first base? Paulie and Thome rotating at DH? Any reports yet? I wonder why we just didn't trade them Swish for Griffey head up. Somebody's going to be b****ing about playing time after this trade. A positive is human nature will make Griffey want to excel with a new team. Maybe his old cf instincts will take over and he'll do well. He is a Hall of Famer. He must have skills to draw from. That would have been just a brilliant move...not!
