  1. f***, terrible time to hang a curve.
  2. We need 2005 ALCS Vlad right here.
  3. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 01:19 AM) Sox have hit the ball hard all night. The last basehit by Uribe was in no mans land, but Cabrera hit the ball on the button, and AJ hit a rocket. I haven't been very impressed with Lackey tonight. I'm never that impressed with Lackey, as his stuff seems average. I know this is picky of me, but when you have a hit-and-run like OC did, you have to hit the ball on the ground.
  4. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 12:17 AM) Even with those two going, a sweep still had to be expected. RME is correct, and we talked about it last night. Home losses for the Twins are so big at this point. Point blank, neither team can afford losses at home at this point, but it's nice having the 1.5 game lead, and 1 more home game at home than the Twins. Yep, the goal is to get to their 4 game series at Tampa with the Sox in the lead.
  5. Not the greatest of execution by our offense tonight. Extremely difficult inning coming up for Gavin.
  6. Damn, hard hit, just right at Rivera.
  7. Hit-and-run time?
  8. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 01:13 AM) If you are feelin funky..... How many peeps in there?
  9. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 12:11 AM) yeah it looked like a strike, and it Anderson can steal off us, Figgins should be going this at bat. As Hawk said, that you very much for not stealing. Let's see if Uribe can get us going this inning.
  10. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 1, 2008 -> 11:05 PM) So they evacuated N.O. and no major damage or flooding ocurred. How difficult do you think it will be to get people to leave next time there is a Hurr threat in that area? That's a fantastic post Blancas
  11. Wow, that 2-2 pitch to Figgins was right down the plate. Going to be hard to pitch over that after Chone steals 2nd.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 01:05 AM) Swisher looks like he has absolutely no chance against Lackey He looks that way against most pitchers, but you're right, for some reason he looks absolutely lost against that slow curve.
  13. Disappointing inning after the leadoff single. No reason for Swisher to be in the lineup tonight.
  14. Jeez Gavin, that's his first homer of the season.
  15. QUOTE (RME JICO @ Sep 6, 2008 -> 11:14 PM) Every home loss kills the Twins odds. I know a loss is a loss, but they have such an advantage at home. Nice to see the Tigers get one there. Hopefully they can take 2, because KC will probably get swept there. Unfortunately, they miss Greinke and Meche.
  16. QUOTE (BlackBetsy @ Sep 6, 2008 -> 11:11 PM) So if Swish is 4 for 40 vs. Lackey in his career.....why is he in the lineup? Better defense with Anderson in CF and righties hit Lackey better. This is Jerry Manuel level managing here. I was thinking the same....damn, great catch by Hunter robs the Sox of another run.
  17. Holy cow, we actually scored on a single with a man on 2nd base! Great 2 out hitting here.
  18. Uribe with a rocket double ties it up! Big 2 out hit.
  19. Alexei needs to keep his back shoulder up. He's hit a ton of fly balls recently due to dropping it.
  20. Something to look for: Lackey's throwing offspeed pitches when our hitters are ahead in the count.
  21. 1-0 Angels after the sac fly by Tex. Can't fall too far behind with Lackey on the mound.
  22. BALLGAME!
  23. MAGGLIO!!
  24. So decided to rent a movie instead, and just got back to see Thome walk gingerly off the field. No reason for him to be batting when everyone else has been pulled. It looks like he told Ozzie he was ok, so hopefully this means Cowley says he's out for the year.
